Thanks for the post. I have a free down loaded a copy of Days of Vengeance and am currently ploughing through it having spent a long time printing the 700 plus pages into a binder crazy fool that I am!!. I also have copies of Paradise Restored and The Great Tribulation
which are two of his earlier books.

Anyone interested can obtain these free of charge on the web. David Chiltern Died in 1997 and left us this great legacy.

I also stumbled across a condensed form of Days of Vengeance called The Book of Revelation Explained by Kevin Davis which can be bought for a reasonable price on Amazon. Kevin Davis met David Chiltern who gave him his approval for the book.
That's so cool one can download it for free! That's an expensive book but worth it's weight in gold 👌!

Very well ...you are right. i trusted any human being with the title 'Christian' when i was in a sinful state. And yes there were some sources where i got the expectation that i need to live a sinless life or else hell awaits me...and the source was YouTube. Atleast 3 people were claiming to be living a sinless life (some videos were about -people with tattoos , soldiers, those who listen to pop music going to hell) and i went to such videos because of my sinning repeatedly and wanting to stop. I sensed great toxicity in these videos. It affected me mentally a lot ...and i felt panicky... a sense of urgency...a sense of terror....abandonment by God....but thanks be to God ...in between these my pastor used to text me great encouragements on whatsapp. It used to bring great joy to mee...great relief. And God also was encouraging me that He had not left me alone as certain people made me to believe. It was a dark phase and took me a long time to realize that these people weren't true. From then it has been a hard time trusting just anyone you see. Its hard to describe in words the ache of my heart at that time. But i think i needed to go through all that....or else i would easily be lead by wolves in the later days. I have slowly developed an attitude of not getting personally troubled or panicked...and be steady and that's one reason i could boldly come to this website. Am also able to ask questions and i don't expect everyone to be right. In a way am thankful for this achy experience.
Very heartening for me to read this Milee777. The verse below popped into my head as i was reading your reply..

Romans 8: KJV

28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

I find it interesting that the symbol for the EU is a woman riding on a beast.

The woman is Europa she rides a BULL not a beast with seven heads and ten horns. Its not suprising that the EU uses it seeing the continent is named after her. I could understand the excitement when the EU became ten countries but now there are 28 the novelty is wearing rather thin. Still people can still scrape a living from writing sensational books complete with lurid covers.

Have you never heard of the term 'beast of burden'?

beast of burden
n. pl. beasts of burden
An animal, such as a donkey, ox, or elephant, used for transporting loads or doing other heavy work.

A bull is also considered 'a beast'.

11.bull - mature male of various mammals of which the female is called `cow'; e.g. whales or elephants or especially cattle

Not to mention the beast is Revelation is metaphoric not literal. So having the symbol of a woman riding a bull is metaphoric for a woman riding a 'beast'.

Thanks for the English lesson. So now I am not only An anti Semitic I am also an illiterate Anti Semitic.
Most of Revelation is Metaphorical and based on OT references but the Hal Lindsey School of Prophecy lives on here.

What is "The Great Harlot Mystery Babylon"? Is Babylon a worldwide religious system that wants you to believe in anything and everything except the truth?

Is the Beast (who ultimately destroys Mystery Babylon and is destroyed by the Lord in the end) a global political system?

I'm no expert, but thought I would contribute my 2 cents.

In order to get more understanding of these subjects and Revelation in general I advise you to read the books of Zecharia, Ezekiel
and Daniel together with the rest of the Prophets. Revelation cannot be understood without a working knowledge of the OT
because it is what the visions are based on.

My view.......Revelation is meant to be understood and the key is found in the first chapter under the banner of the word anaginosko.......to KNOW again........ONE must be HONEST with MANY foundational truths that have been established in scripture from both the O.T. and N.T. if they are going to have any chance at all of understanding the book itself............and everything in the book is to be taken LITERAL unless context dictates otherwise.........

Israel is NOT drunk on the Blood of the Saints! The harlot is not Israel.

The same that is drunk on the Blood of the Saints, got absolutely plastered on the Blood of the Jews throughout history.

The harlot is the false Church.
The book of Revelation was addressed to seven first Century Churches. The only groups persecuting them were Pagan Rome and
Jews. At that time there was no false Churches. The Saints referred to were Old Testament Saints (See Matthew 23:29-39) see also Ezekiel 16 In Revelation Jerusalem is called Egypt and Sodom and in Johns vision the Harlot is dressed as a Jewish High Priest
Apostate Israel is represented by these symbols and types in Scripture.

Had a look at David's Chilton's eschatology books, and have to say they will lead the person reading them FAR astray on matters concerning the Lord's Second Coming!

You are entitled to your opinion. At least you bothered to ''Have a look at them'' which is probably closer to anything most people on this site would probably do. If you had more than a look and studied them and the large number of Bible references he backed his beliefs with you may come to a different conclusion.

People have been matching up Revelations with their current events since the first century with conviction and expectation. The funny thing is that every time another doomsday prophet pops up he is able to sway a significant following long enough to sell a few books. Then after his predictions don’t materialize, he disappears back into the shadows. Rob Skiba(?) had himself and others looking to the skies for the coming Messiah and now he’s equally certain the Earth is flat.

Some are part of the flock. Others just follow the Herd

By the way it is the Revelation of Jesus Christ not Revelations. A common mistake which distorts the book before any of it is read

Im not a theologian or anything but my best guess is that the harlot is the ancient city of Rome, and the beast is the Roman Empire.

- The roman empire was huge and sat on many seas

- Rome was the 'seat' of the roman empire, and it is also a city (she sat on a beast with 7 heads), and Rome ruled over other nations at that time

- Rome was known to have legal prostitution and it seemed to be a prolific thing among the wealthy and powerful as well as the common citizens there (kings and people committed adultery with her)

- Rome was very wealthy with gold, luxury and riches (adorned with gold and jewels)

- Rome had several emperors (kings) who had fallen (the beast had five heads representing kings that have fallen)

- Rome had a king that was, is not now, and will come again... and the people will be amazed! (Jesus!! King of Kings!! was killed by the Romans)

- They fed christians to the lions in the coliseum, and that was their entertainment! (drunk with the blood of the faithful)

- The Romans accused and killed Jesus (blasphemies written on her)

It seems to be a good fit to me.

Those who know the Book understood, those who didn’t shouldn’t be posting here, but noted just the same.

The Harlot is a symbol of apostate Israel. She is dressed in a parody of a High Priest and rides the Beast which is the Roman Empire.
In Revelation she is the opposite of the new Jerusalem and is the only nation in the OT to be called a Harlot
It may indeed be a parody of the High Priest, but how does that make it Israel?

PEARLS come from an unclean animal and therefore would not be on the High Priest. Here are the stones he would have worn on his breastplate:

The woman is in fact the false, apostate church. Rome and Roman catholocism killed far more Christians than any Jew did.

Revelation 17:3 So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and PEARLS, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of [b]her fornication.

Good day PennEd,

I wholeheartedly agree with you in that, the woman who rides the beast is Rome's false religions system, Roman Catholicism. We know that the woman who rides the beast is not apostate Israel, as Revelation reveals this. Those who teach this will not receive the truth because unfortunately, they are more concerned with supporting the false teachings that they have adopted.

"The woman you saw, is that great city that rules over the kings of the earth." - Rev.17:18

When did Israel rule over the kings of the earth? That would be, never! At the time that John was receiving this information from the angel, Rome was that city that ruled over the kings of the earth.

"The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits." - Rev.17:9

Though they say that Israel was built on seven hills, this is false and is only claimed by them in order to support their belief. Rome however, was built on and is famous for her seven hills.

"The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls." - Rev.17:4

Purple and scarlet are the exact colors worn by the Bishops and Cardinals and have nothing to do with the ephod that the priests that Israel wore. Every article within Roman Catholicism, is either made of pure gold or overlaid with it i.e. she was adorned with gold and precious stones.

To recap, the woman who rides the beast is identified as that great city that ruled over the kings of the earth, with said city sitting on seven mountains/hills and is wearing purple and scarlet, which is all pointing us to the false church which would come out of Rome, which is Roman Catholicism. But one of the biggest and unrecognized proofs that Israel is not the woman is found in the following scriptures - Rev.18:21-23, 20:7-9, which tells us of the fate of Babylon the Great, that city that ruled over the kings of the earth and that sits on seven mountains/hills.

* The great city of Babylon will be cast down, never to be seen again.

* The sound of harpists and musicians, of flute players and trumpeters, will never be heard in you again.

* Nor will any craftsmen of any trade be found in you again, nor the sound of a millstone be heard in you again.

* The light of a lamp will never shine in you again

* The voices of a bride and bridegroom will never be heard in you again.

The information above clearly reveals that the destruction of the woman/that great city Babylon, is so devastating that no one will ever inhabit that city ever again. Now, below is the proof that Israel is not that city:

"When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—and to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them."

So, after Satan is released from the Abyss, he then deceives the inhabitants of the earth-Gog and Magog-and they march across the earth and surround "the camp of God's people, the city that He loves." The city that He (God) loves, is referring to none other than Jerusalem, which would demonstrate that people will have been living in the city of Jerusalem during the millennial period, up to the very end and therefore could not be the woman who rides the beast, that city that sits on seven hills.

On a side note, by the description of the city being destroyed so that no one will ever be able to inhabit it again, I believe that this may be due to a nuclear strike by the beast and the ten kings. What else could keep people from inhabiting that city ever again?

Interesting idea of the Harlot being Roman Catholicism, I think it certainly is a part of "her" so to speak. I think the heart of most catholics has to be considered though. I haven't met many that seem rotten/workers of iniquity in my experiences. The ones at the top possibly are but so it is with most governments. I look for Something predicated on false christianity and proclaiming peace and love and acceptance but being the opposite with such works of sin that haven't ever before been exposed to the light of day.

The deeds done under the cover of darkness being exalted as progress...that is what draws my attention at least. I don't think the catholic church actively encourages people to sin, descries those who practice righteousness or have any sort of moral law.

That corruption that is seen in the fundamentals of the organization I definitely think there's a correlation and serious scrutiny should be applied. It definitely has a long arm...
