Yet scripture has also been given to you which you do not like, or interpret different

Its an interpretation issue, not a scripture issue.

It goes both ways man, don”t judge others of doing the very thing you are doing
i have never read a scripture that i didn't like......

Gosh MMD, you're a smart guy but you could be so dense at times.

You got your answer in post no. 86,311 by @unclesilas ...

He's right, you just don't UNDERSTAND it.

Now could we stop this nonsense?

Here's the post 86,311

@unclesilas says:

I believe People in effect have a trinity of Father,, Son and the bible. The Holy Spirit is much ignored and that is why they canot spiritually discern what is written in reputable translations of the bible. They rely on their little grey cells to learn and so go off scurrying away to the greek and concordances to gain what they consider deep understanding of the word. Only one can give you that, and he most certainly does not rely on you reading the greek to teach you
You call that a YES or NO answer? He believes "people" in effect have a trinity of Father, Son and the bible and the Holy Spirit is ignored, yet does "he" personally believe that there is one God in essence/nature who eternally exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit? Does "he" personally believe that Jesus is God? He did not give me a direct answer of YES or NO to my direct questions. If I am so dense, then why the hesitation to answer YES or NO to my questions? :unsure:

Shoot, I'm going to hell. I might as well just live an all out evil life cuz I can't follow his commandments when I try my hardest. Shoot, I mean shit, that sucks I never had Christ
This is a sad, self-defeating view you have. Jesus died to break the chains of sin. We are instructed to walk in the Spirit not in the flesh. So if you choose to keep walking in the flesh then that is on you. Learn to walk in the Spirit and if you step out of line then repent. We all fall and sin, but we have an advocate and have to learn to repent and get back up. The more you walk in the Spirit the more you grow in grace and the stronger you become to resist sin. There is power in the Blood of the Lamb so quit limiting it and start growing in his grace and power.

Never heard that, where does he come up with that? Another made up doctrine that no body believes?

have you took your medicine this morning bud?

my response was answering your questions......the problem is that you can not refute them so you attack me as a hypocrite.......

show me where i was wrong......alll i have given is scripture, plainly written about eternal life

as i have told dcon "if you dont like the mail, don't get mad at the mailman, i didn't write it"
We like the mailman.....but for sure we cannot stand false ideology that devalues JESUS, his promises, his power and his ability to do what he said he would do..........

Start with IRREVOCABLE as applied to the GIFTS and CALLING of GOD.............SALVATION is a GIFT given ETERNALLY........TRY some honesty for once.......

Show where you were wrong?

Sure.

You condemn others for sinning while you continue to sin every day.

Which makes you a hypocrite.

And wrong.
i never condemned you........i gave you scriptures and that condemned you.....

bud, it's called conviction.......repent......God said "if you confess your sins he is faithful and just to forgive us"

Yet, you can't see you condemn yourself when you go off on others about sinning while you continue to sin yourself.

Making the Bible into a God? No, but the Bible is God's word. Asking someone if they believe in the Trinity and if they believe that Jesus is God is a dumb question? Are you serious? :eek:

He has not posted a YES or NO answer to my simple questions, yet you will still defend him regardless. :rolleyes:

I could ask you the same question.

Listening to every word of the Bible is listening to God because the Bible is inspired by God.

In context, Paul mentions "prize" in verse 24, so is that really adding to scripture? The NIV is a thought for thought translation. Is salvation a gift (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8) or a prize?

A prize is not the gift of eternal life, so it does not refer to salvation.

What is the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus? In the process of ongoing sanctification, we are reaching to what lies ahead and we press on to be become mature in Christ. Paul was already saved and in Christ and was not reaching forward to obtain salvation.

Paul presses on toward the goal to win the prize, just as an Olympian presses on toward the goal to win the prize of the gold medal in the Olympics.

In context (vs. 25) Paul mentions an imperishable crown.
The Bible mentions multiple crowns in scripture.
- https://www.gotquestions.org/heavenly-crowns.html

God has promised believers eternal life (John 3:15,16,18; 5:24; 6:40,47; 11:25,26; 1 John 5:13). :)

In the ultimate sense in regards to everything, yes. Only God fully knows the hearts of men.
Oops. I hit the reply button.

1. The answer is NO for those who don't understand English.
Why? Because some persons DO make the bible to be the third, or fourth, person of the Trinity...but since Trinity means 3,,, we'll have to abolish the Holy Spirit and make room for the bible in HIS place.

We need to start listening to GOD and not hang on every word of the bible, like you do. And quit going to the Greek and start understanding it in ENGLISH...seems it would be a good start.
When we all have PhDs after our names, we could start writing books and speaking in Greek and Hebrew, like scholars do. We're not scholars. Talk about pride...! (as EG does all the time)

2. Salvation is a prize. Faith is a gift.

Philippians 3:12-15
Pressing toward the Goal [you think the goal is a prize or heaven??]

12I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.
13No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it,d but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,
14I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
15Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you. 16But we must hold on to the progress we have already made.

James 1:12
12Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

1 Corinthians 4:5
1Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive his commendation from God.

Hebrews 12:1
1Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

Many more. But you could start by exegeting the above verses.

3. What do YOU suppose "lies ahead".

4. If you think Paul is thinking about an Olympic prize,,,you did NOT read the commentaries I sent you.

You have to show me how the commentaries are wrong...not just repeat what YOU think.

Want to send me yours?
And YOU do mine?

I'm good.

MISHANDLING OF SCRIPTURE!

You need to keep reading when Paul draws to his conclusion in Romans 3!

Rom 3:9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
Rom 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Romans 2:6-7 is not the plan of salvation! Thats in Romans 3 when Paul has CONCLUDED: Watch this:

Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Rom 3:26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Rom 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
i dont understand your point, saying i mishandled scripture.......all i did was quote it.....

none of your scriptures refutes the one i quote...............the word of God doesn't contradict itself
