Another thing with people who have the wrong kind of trinity, they are only capable of having half a bible, maturity is accepting it all, without seeking to do cartwheels with the bits you don't like, or ignoring them.
So tell us please which bible translation that is the perfect?

Is it possible Mr. uncle that it was Holy Spirit Himself who made it that Gods people could know what is true?

Hebrew paints pictures and to some extent so does the Greek. When you look, it is the work of Holy Spirit to show Jesus in the Word. And what we are in Him.

When you read the words robe of white....do you picture a white robe? Or Light shining covering! Intense. Look at the Greek for there is the truth.

James is clear.....and the contrast is clear as well....mere belief in God contrasted against saving faith....the JEWS have the same problem to this very day....a mere belief in GOD, but no saving faith into CHRIST

THE DEMONS BELIEVE and GET EMOTIONAL......<----THAT IS THE CONTRAST.......and the CONTEXT is SHOW ME YOUR FAITH..............you guys need to get over this fallacy of believing this book peddles a faith plus works blend for justification before GOD.......

PAUL was clear....THEREFORE we conclude a man is JUSTIFIED BY FAITH without the DEEDS/WORKS of the law.......

Get over it.......

FAITH plus WORKS to gain, keep, top off, finish, embellish salvation is a lying false gospel with no power to save, double cursed and all that believe it are fools and bewitched <---GALATIANS
If you believe James is doing a contrasting, then this is the reason for your severe misunderstanding of the passage.James uses Abraham to support the faith he referred to previously and hence if Abraham's faith was real then so was the faith previously referred to.

You call that a YES or NO answer? He believes "people" in effect have a trinity of Father, Son and the bible and the Holy Spirit is ignored, yet does "he" personally believe that there is one God in essence/nature who eternally exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit? Does "he" personally believe that Jesus is God? He did not give me a direct answer of YES or NO to my direct questions. If I am so dense, then why the hesitation to answer YES or NO to my questions?
Because most persons don't like when their post is ignored.
The answer is YES...
Anyway, that's not the subject here.
He can believe what he wants to believe about the Trinity...
I know persons who believe Jesus is only the Messiah but they also do NOT believe in OSAS.

The thread is about what makes us saved and what keeps us saved...
Not somebody's personal opinion about the Trinity.

Yet, you can't see you condemn yourself when you go off on others about sinning while you continue to sin yourself.
What is it with you and your obsession with sin?
Does misery want company?

We're not here to discuss sin and especially not person's PERSONAL sin/sins.

Off topic....

Well I believe in OSAS, and I was being sarcastic, and one who is truly saved and claims to possess the spirit of truth does not use his righteousness as a cloak to cover their skin. Out of love they don't.
The use of the word was sarcasm in protest and to direct one to what could easily be path of defiance in discovering the lie tohat mg salvation ultimately lies in my filthy, sinful, marred, and imperfections hands.
Jf that is the case, I need a new God to worship. One that don't promise things and through parables twist conditions and confusion with them.
glad j know the truth now. I can be Fred.
Thanks.

Oh, the field language, yea, I work on that all the time. I had a fowl mouth a my life. If we were in general conversation a "Christian" might be offended at my "slipping up" so often.
See, I don't know what others believe, but when a fowl word escapes from my lips, it is just that and nothing as. Fowl language corrupts good manners... nothing more.
That's all it is is she passing over box chords with the movement of the tongue and jaw to produce a sound that society seems inappropriate. .
I assume the God j worship would find more offense in saying g to another "I hate you" to another.
My heart is far from any I'll intent when familiar word's that society deems "filthy" are produced on my lips.
You can not by any means, lose the salvation so graciously given to our filthy as...butts.
Wow. You really can't help yourself.
Did you know what Jesus said about what comes out of the mouth?

Mathew 15:11
10Then Jesus called to the crowd to come and hear. “Listen,” he said, “and try to understand.
11It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth.”

Ephesians 4:29
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Luke 6:45
The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

We all have our problems with sin,,,,but consider that this is such a bad testimony to those that know you're Christian. I mean, if we act like the rest of the world...then what'd the difference between us and them?

That's a great passage, possibly mailmandan will do an exegesis of it as he undoubtledly thrives on the subject:

My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them(believers) may be one,Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as(AS) we are one— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me

How can believers be in Father and Son as they are in each other?
How can believers be one as(AS) Father and Son are one?
Because through Jesus , we are in Him , who is in the Father...
And by being born again Spiritually from above...xox...

I once believed I was saved by grace through faith, but my justification, once saved hinged on obeying the law. I became full of all manner of concupiscence(Rom7:8) as was Saul the Pharisee under that system

And what did Paul the apostle give as the solution?Hint:

The law was not the true culprit, sin was.(Romans 7:12-14)

The law was his delight.(Romans 7:22)

Jesus is the one who gives him the power to overcome the "all manner of concupiscence" troubling him.(Romans 7:24,25;8:1-8)

Only faith in the blood sacrifice of the Son of God, come in flesh, for you personally keeps us saved
Faith only doesn't work S,
Jesus said we need love.
Mathew 22:37-39
We have to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Paul repeated this.
1 Corinthians 13:1
Paul tells us that no matter what gift he may have...if he does not have love, he's like a clanging cymbal. (just making a lot of noise).

So if both Jesus and Paul said we also need love,,,,how could only faith be enough for salvation?

The N.T. teaches us that we need:
FAITH
HOPE
LOVE (charity)

All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. 13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. Rom2:12&13

Does the above refer to believers? Paul states believers are not under the law. However, if you live under the law you must fully obey the law to be declared righteous under it.
This verse is key to understanding the passage:

"For there is no respect of persons with God."(Romans 2:11)Read the whole passage to get the context. Are you sure you understand what is meant by being,"not under the law" ?

You are ASSUMING the crown of life = eternal life! It didnt say that in any of the verses you quoted!
Huh?

In the N.T. Life means Eternal Life.
Jesus gives us Life....Eternal Life.

WHAT wasn't in the original?
I don't know what you mean.

Here's my post again:

James 1:12
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

God has promised us ETERNAL LIFE, not a prize.

i dont understand your point, saying i mishandled scripture.......all i did was quote it.....

none of your scriptures refutes the one i quote...............the word of God doesn't contradict itself
Yet your interpretation of the very scriptures you posted contradicts other passages. And again you probably think they same with ours.

Quoting scripture does not prove one right, thats one thing i try to get people to see.

Lets discuss the scriptures. Not say my scripture trumps yours, so i am right, yours are wrong

You did mishandle it

You were quoting it and making it seem like Romans 2:6-7 was how people get saved! Its clear from the context.

It doesnt contradict, and i didnt say it did! What im saying is: Paul is making a POINT from Romans 1-3. He is saying all is under sin, and nobody CAN do romans 2:6-7 which is why Romans 3:21-26 is there.

NOBODY IS JUSTIFIED BY KEEPING THE LAW
No one is justified by the law. How many times does this have to be repeated?

However, you can't change what Paul is saying in Romans 2:6-7
He IS saying how we are saved.

He is saying exactly what Jesus said in
John 5:28-29 JESUS said:
28Don’t be so surprised! Indeed, the time is coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God’s Son,
29and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise to experience eternal life, and those who have continued in evil will rise to experience judgment.

Jesus and Paul believed exactly the same thing...of course.

Titus 3:5-8 (HCSB)
5 He saved us— not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
6 He poured out this ⌊Spirit⌋ on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 so that having been justified by His grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life.
8 This saying is trustworthy. I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed God might be careful to devote themselves to good works. These are good and profitable for everyone.

I have grown TIRED of explaining this Scripture, so Figure it out.

Here is a HINT: What came FIRST?
SALVATION or WALKING IN OBEDIENCE OUT OF LOVE FOR HIM?

2 Timothy 1:9 (HCSB)
9 He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.

The passages you quote for the most part are also used and accepted in the study mentioned so they were figured out already. This analogy may help:

We are at a door we need to enter but have no key to do so.Someone provides the key needed and pulls the door so we may go in.What should we do now?Stand there and say all is well since the door is opened or walk in to complete what we had set out to do?

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ephesians 2:8 (AMPC) - For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God.
What now Dan?
I posted 4 verses
You posted only 1
And I said I had a lot more....

You can find ONE verse or even two, to prove anything -- and you know this.

Faith is the gift we receive from God.
With faith comes salvation....if you want to say salvation is a gift due to our faith which IS a gift, that's up to you.

I say we need to look at the N.T. as a whole.
If Jesus sets CONDITIONS on our salvataion...it is NOT a gift,,,but a prize we get at the end.

You could see the following verses for this:
Romans 8:24-25
Hebrews 11:1
1 Peter 1:6-9
1 peter 3:15

We have the hope of salvation...Paul speaks about it as something to take place in the future....
We can say we have it now....but we cannot claim it till we have earned it.

IF there were no conditions, then it would be a gift.

@unclesilas

I am wondering why you switched up the scripture from the one she quoted.

Very suspect that you would do that, are we dialoging with someone who lacks integrity?

Rosemaryx said:

This is such a comfort knowing that our LORD prayed for us , I feel so touched by this...

John 17:20-23 New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Prays for All Believers

20 The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away..:unsure::unsure::unsure:

That's a great passage, possibly mailmandan will do an exegesis of it as he undoubtledly thrives on the subject:

How can believers be in Father and Son as they are in each other?
How can believers be one as(AS) Father and Son are one?
And there was me wondering why you have not answered the questions posed, very suspect

So tell us please which bible translation that is the perfect?

.
Just concentrate on the greatest theologian of them all who dwells in all Christians, more important to focus on him, than which particular reputable translation you read
