Whats immature is you sidestepping a valid question and blaming everyone else.

Its getting to the point i have to wonder why people respond to you, you have no message worth trusting in, so your no danger to anyone, except those who have already drank your coolaid
Do you have any idea how many questions I'VE asked here and do not get a reply?

You can disagree with me all you want, i am nothing.
Sin is sin, the penalty of sin is death, deal with it.
Why are there 613 different laws in the Torah?
In your book there appear to be perfection and you failed.

Do you see there is a difference in approach between your description and Gods?

Its like someone saying driving a car is just sitting in the driving seat and walking away.
I suppose if you always sit in the passenger seat and the driver always drives you, that is
all you need to know. But I would suggest God gave the bible so that we might know and
understand, in truth and liberty and actually drive the car.

You might notice Jesus called us to be yoked to Him, so we equally pull the load, not just sit
in the cart while He pulled us along.

BTW
When do you discern Jesus became fully God and fuly man on earth? From birth, or at his baptism? Only if Jesus was fully God and fully man from birth, he would alre

The people who want to discuss trinity so much are always the immature in the faith, seen it over years on debating websites. Those who are more mature, and have discernment tend not to discuss it. Neither you, mailmandan, vco, nor anyone else I have placed on ignore(I checked) could answer those two simple questions yesterday could you. How do you expect to understand trinity if you cannot answer such simple questions?
So lets see. I told someone yesterday the Holy Spirit fully resides in Christ, or we can say, the fulness of the Godhead bodily dwells in Christ. That is what you believe isn't it. So we both agree as to the essence of Christ. Now if the person I told that to had discernment, they would have been content with it, but alas. However, I will go the extra mile for you this once. As you have read the bible for 18 years you know the Holy Spirit descended on Christ in bodily form/shape at his baptism. So, we can say the fullness of the diety was in Christ during his earthly ministry, or God was fully in Christ during his earthly ministry. So we both agree as to the essence of Christ, now in heaven and when he walked this earth don't we. That leaves his title. So in your view, after reading the bible for 18 years and with the discernment you have, if someone agrees with you as to the essence of Christ, what title must they give him to be in a saved state according to what is written all over the new testament?
Am not exactly sure of what you are saying here. Jesus was born Emmanuel. The experience of the Spirit coming down at His baptism, was being anointed for ministry as both Priest and King.

Jewish history is a great help. ;)

So why do you think your sin is better than that persons sin?
I dont, I have never said no such thing

Sin is as dark as a thousand midnights. Just look at the cross and you will see what God thinks of sin

When I sin.....I'm convicted.....conviction always points me to the cross and says "if you confess your sins, He is faithful and just to forgive".

Praise God he does!!!?

ADMIN NOTE: denial of deity of Christ is heresy
Our experts on the trinity have, through their diligent study come to the conclusion that if you stand on the plain words of Christ when he walked this earth you will be condemned to hell:

Now this is eternal life(note what constitutes eternal life): that they know you,(the Father) the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent John17:3

The Father is greater than I John14:28

And of course, Christ, the Father, Peter and Paul all state the Father is the God of Christ(Heb1:9, Rev3:12, John20:17, 2Cor1:3, 1Peter1:3)

If Jesus is the one true God, we could ask our experts, who is the God of the one true omnipotent God? I have not heard of him, possibly mailmandan can find out by referencing the greek or concordances

Could you please explain verse 13?

Thanks.
It's hard to understand? We are sanctified by the Spirit of Christ. Set apart by the new birth, empowered by Holy Spirit to live our life in Him.

Jesus commits Himself to His body to bring us into unity with Him and between His members.

The first work IMO, is to renew our minds to the Word. The mind of Christ.

I agree sanctification is important, but I think this verse says so much..

He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Titus 3:5‭-‬7 NASB
So nice to find someone that is actually serious about this discussion.

The above is right, of course. You agree with me.
We are NOT saved by our works/deeds. The works we would do thinking we could GAIN SALVATION would be the deeds of our own righteousness. God doesn't need our deeds of righteousness.
We are saved by His mercy,,,through His grace...by our Faith. Faith is the transmitter...as long as we have faith, we have eternal security.

Sanctification and relationship are important and they come with repentance, right? Believing in Him brings us to our knees, filled with shame and guilt, ready to repent, asking Him to save us.
The above is not right. Justification comes by repenetence...not Sanctification.
Please check out this link...it explains the difference really well and will save me some typing.
http://www.differencebetween.net/mi...nce-between-justification-and-sanctification/

The problem here is that the word REPENT is used incorrectly these days.
To repent means to turn around, change our direction, and go the other way.
We repent ONE TIME and at that time we become Justified and decide to walk with God.

Instead when we sin we can say that we're sorry for our sin and ask forgiveness. It's not necessary to REPENT again...you're still walking with God,,,you've only fallen and need to get up.

He is all about sanctification. Yes, it is so important. We just get ourselves in a dog paddling estate, in the middle of shark (satan) infested waters, when we forget we are innocent by association with Him, not because we anything. Do we get to contribute...yes. Do we get to be a part of His plan...yes. Does He want and expect us to obey...yes. But we see in so many places, ours is to repent, His is to save..
i agree but would make two comments.

1. Could we say that we get bitten by sharks instead of saying we're in shark-infested waters.? Do you see a difference?

2. I hope you're using the word repent correctly---I'm not sure. We only repent BEFORE we are saved...

For God has shut up all in disobedience so that He may show mercy to all. Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became his counselor ? Or who has first given to Him that it might be paid back to him again ? For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.
Romans 11:32‭-‬36 NASB
Amen to that!

But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that, just as it is written, " Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord ."
1 Corinthians 1:30‭-‬31 NASB
Praise God.

We are told not to engage in disputes over laws because it is fruitless, but as long as we do this...

with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,
2 Timothy 2:25 NASB
I'm not disputing any law.
What I'm doing is disputing what it means to remain saved. Some here don't think we need to remain saved. They think we could do what we want to...wallow in the mire....and still be saved. This is not true and is not taught by Jesus or any of the writer's. I'll state this till the day I die. And I do try to be gentle...sometimes those on here make it a little difficult but I don't think I've been mean to anyone.

I still believe you are my Sister, that you too call on the name of the Lord, that we both agree obeying Him is fundamental to our Salvation. I think the difference we have is that for me, He gets all the Glory, for even our repentance. We must keep our eyes on the Savior. It is wise to know He is. Holy and Just, able to squash our souls like a bug, and so comforting knowing He wants instead to give us life. He is so good, ours is to accept His calling.
Why do you think that for YOU .... HE gets all the glory
and for ME.....He doesn't? Who did I ever say gets the glory??? Me?
How many times have I said that it's the Holy Spirit that keeps us....

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
Ephesians 2:8‭-‬10 NASB
Right!
Ephesians 2:8-9 speaks about Justification.
Ephesians 2:10 speaks about Sanctification.

Yes, He wants our commitment and fellowship. He died for it. Talk about selfless love. May we all walk in it.
Another AMEN!

Yes.. I find that we don't always understand each other, so I like to make sure.

Here's verse 13:

13 But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

I agree with everything you said..
Unfortunately, I don't see a lot of union...but that'll be taken care of at our death.

I would like to add that verse 13 plainly states that we have been chosen to salvation through sanctification.

No sanctification.....no salvation.

This is why I think it's so important to understand sanctification...

But, the difference as I see it Fran, is that your emphasis on sanctification is us. Our doing. My emphasis is on God. It's His work from start to finish and we place our hope on Jesus.

We become like whatever our eye is fixed on.

Peter the apostle

Peter walked with Jesus, was given the ministry of leading the church.
Yet he had refused to enter a gentiles home or eat with him.

God had made gentiles clean in the vision.
So Peter preached the good news and saw the Holy Spirit fall on the people.

Walking in holiness was part of their life and never changed.
Peter was so cut up about the denial he made of Jesus, he was by tradition crucified upside down.

Those who compromise with sin so easily and claim that is part of knowing Christs forgiveness have
not understood death that comes with sin.

For, "Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech.
He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it.
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."
1 Peter 3:10-12

Did Peter say, you can and will continue to do evil and fail to do good, but Jesus forgives you? No

When you have no integrity, and no conviction about repeatedly sinning while lying and deceiving.

When You make up a fake account and continue deceiving, you don't really have too big a problem with printing lies for all to see.

You probably also might want to make your election sure by seeing if the Holy Spirit actually dwells in you.
