We overcome the world spirit, our own flesh, and the devil. How? By the blood of the Lamb and the Word of testimony. Whatever comes our way in life, we trust (obey) what He says.

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 1 John 5:3-5

What happens when whatever comes our way is persecution, and we are tempted to renounce Christ and depart from Him to ease our suffering or save our natural life?

He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
Revelation 21:7-8

again

He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. Revelation 3:5

If we keep the whole law yet stumble in one part, we are guilty of the whole law
You need to realise, your legalism causes slavery, your a slave to all the laws of god, because of you do not obey every one, your cursed.
You may think you can handle that yoke, but sadly, you can’t your sin will conde,n you where you stand. So you better find grace before it is too late
It seems you do not believe Jesus called us to learn from Him and be yoked to Him at all.
This also means you are not yoked to Him, taught by Him or following His way.

If you will not listen to Jesus, why would you listen to me.

Jesus calls us to take His yoke upon us.
Who is calling us? Jesus, our Lord and Saviour. He calls us to what? To learn from Him.

So this has been called legalism, slavery and being condemned.

Who are we meant to learn from if not Jesus? Who is our example if not Jesus?
Is not Paul calling to follow Jesus's example, and Peter saying we have to walk like Jesus.

What a sad day, when someone claims salvation is not listening to and learning from Jesus.
What defines His Sheep

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
John 10:27

To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.

Here's what I have to say about THAT:

1. We all struggle with sin. So you want a medal because you struggled with drugs?
I hope for your sake that you were healed of this...if not, keep trying. You'll live longer.
Even Keith was able to give it up and he's very healthy now. If HE could do it.. YOU could do it.

2. It is NOT our proclamation that Jesus is King that saves us. This is a modern day misconception.
Jesus made the rules 2,000 years ago --- we should stick to THOSE rules.

Here's what gets you saved:

Romans 10:9
If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

OK. Now I have a chore for you and please report back to us:
What does it mean to have Jesus as Lord?
What is a Lord?

What does it mean to believe in our heart?

The answers to those question is what will get you saved and keep you saved.
If you notice, Jesus didn't speak much about salvation...maybe 4 or 5 times.

But He sure did speak A LOT about works and teachings!
And how to STAY in the Kingdom of God...maybe 100 times.
Truth is that if I told you the truth you'd just dig up a dozen or so scripture explaining why it was wrong.
What does Lord mean to me? Or rather what does the term "Lord Jesus" mean to me? I'll keep that one where the sacred things lie in my heart. Im not here to contest my salvation. Im just trying to convey a simple truth.
See, I KNOW the spirit of God works in me. How do I know this?
Well first of all, I grew up despising exactly what I now preach. (Here's where I open the door for your sh...stuff) I never asked for this. I never once got down o. My knees and asked or confessed any thing. I was in a conversation with what society would deem a " crack whore" who kept claiming God to this unbeliever. By the time the conversation was over I didn't believe, but truly doubted my unbelief.
Leaving a lot of detail out, God took me from my body I believe Paul uses the term. 3rd heaven. The next morning I was filled go the brim with the Holy Spirit and didn't even know what was happening. 6-1/2 years later he instantaneously opened my eyes tl understand his word and righteousness to me.
The spiritual experience, the filling of the Holy Spirit and the opening my blind eyes are the solid foundation of my belief that I am saved but ( as much pride as I can muster away) I have been chosen. Sorry charlie but some days k am still beside myself in wonder and amazement how god has changed my heart's desires and beliefs and I was led by a nosering too. But, it's the best thing that will EVER happen to me. There's so much more but I'm on a phone pecking like a chicken.

When you have no integrity, and no conviction about repeatedly sinning while lying and deceiving.

When You make up a fake account and continue deceiving, you don't really have too big a problem with printing lies for all to see.

You probably also might want to make your election sure by seeing if the Holy Spirit actually dwells in you.
Also, I have to wonder why some people just cannot let something go????

They are ones that keep coming back.

The "loseable salvation", or "salvation is not knowable" or "salvation is earned" people keep reinventing themselves??

Then they have the audacity to say the work of Christ Jesus was not enough we need to do our part, sounds lke Catholic theology.

But, the difference as I see it Fran, is that your emphasis on sanctification is us. Our doing. My emphasis is on God. It's His work from start to finish and we place our hope on Jesus.

We become like whatever our eye is fixed on.
But see S,
It's NOT God's work from start to finish.
I don't know how you could say so many right things and then end up believing the above.

A relationship requires two persons. This is why it's called a relationship.
I'm married to my husband. It takes two of us to make the marriage a happy one.
If HE stops trying...no more marriage. Ditto if I stop trying.

Our life here on earth is very similar to God's concepts in heaven.

just wanted to pull this feb.6 post down here to ask you this

you made a clear statement here, yet here you are, still posting.

so, are you being a slave to sin or a slave to God each time you post, after saying you are " not posting anymore ".???

answer, or nah?
I believe I'm being a slave to God for pronouncing the truth under so much persecution.

I leave every now and then and then come back.
Got a problem with that???

EG is saying that he is under grace...
and YOU are under the Law...
So, being under the law, if you break one sin, you've broken them all.
There's a problem here with simple Christian beliefs.
I'm very sorry about this....
EG should learn the difference between Justfctn and Sanctfcn...
The Law and Grace.
What saves...
What keeps saved.

Many think they believe once and are saved forever, no matter what.
This is OSAS.

They believe Jesus DID IT ALL on the cross and so WE don't have to do ANYTHING.

Some actually think that believing in works is a sin because we're saying Jesus needs help.

So much other stuff that's wrong...
Thanks for this.
His sheep listen to His voice.

Any sheep who says listen to someone else, and Jesus preached condemnation I avoid.
And I am sure it all makes sense to them, but Jesus is very simple about such things.

Could a none listening sheep ever just stop and hear? I would like to hear such a testimony.

I believe that our faith is evidenced in our actions...but God deals with each one of us in His own way. We're not cookie cutter copies of each other except in our love for Christ.

God changed your heart and this is what matters.
So all is good....so why criticize me for living my Christianity the way God told me to live it and the way I believe it's taught in the N.T. ?

And thanks for not saying sh.. !
I appreciate it.

I'm sure this has to do with Matthew 25,,,,but I can't figure out how...

All it takes for evil to succeed
Is for good to do nothing.

I hear some odd doctrine on here and I think it needs to be fixed.
Like for instance....
We could disobey God with impunity
and still be saved.
Oh no.......This will not go down without a fight.

share their experiences of the Lord.

The Jews thought like this, because they were part of Israel, promised and sealed in the Red Sea.

We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.
For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment,
how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him.
Heb 2:1-3

The heart of men believe once they have privilege of position nothing can touch them.
It works in the world and it works in the church especially on those who do not know God.

God did not spare the natural branches....He also will not spare the ones that were grafted in.
IF we CONTINUE in His kindness; otherwise we too will be cut off...severity to those who fell.

Such simple truths...

Our experts on the trinity have, through their diligent study come to the conclusion that if you stand on the plain words of Christ when he walked this earth you will be condemned to hell:

Now this is eternal life(note what constitutes eternal life): that they know you,(the Father) the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent John17:3

The Father is greater than I John14:28

And of course, Christ, the Father, Peter and Paul all state the Father is the God of Christ(Heb1:9, Rev3:12, John20:17, 2Cor1:3, 1Peter1:3)

If Jesus is the one true God, we could ask our experts, who is the God of the one true omnipotent God? I have not heard of him, possibly mailmandan can find out by referencing the greek or concordances

YOU DO NOT BELIEVE THAT JESUS AND THE FATHER ARE THE SAME DEITY DO YOU ? ? ?

2 John 1:9-11 (HCSB)
9 Anyone who does not remain in Christ’s teaching but goes beyond it, does not have God. The one who remains in that teaching, this one has both the Father and the Son.
10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your home, and don’t say, “Welcome,” to him;
11 for the one who says, “Welcome,” to him shares in his evil works.

1 John 2:23-24 (HCSB)
23 No one who denies the Son can have the Father; he who confesses the Son has the Father as well.
24 What you have heard from the beginning must remain in you. If what you have heard from the beginning remains in you, then you will remain in the Son and in the Father.

IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE THAT JESUS IS GOD IN THAT FLESH, thin you are IN A PSUEDO CHRISTIAN CULT.

2 Corinthians 5:19 (ASV)
19 to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses, and having committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

I have been wondering what you were hinting at, went you said "in plain language".

Colossians 1:19-20 (HCSB)
19 For God was pleased ⌊to have⌋ all His fullness dwell in Him,
20 and through Him to reconcile everything to Himself by making peace through the blood of His cross— whether things on earth or things in heaven.

Colossians 2:9-10 (NASB)
9 For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,
10 and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority;

John 1:1 (HCSB)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:14 (HCSB)
14 The Word became flesh and took up residence among us. We observed His glory, the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Colossians 1:16-18 (HCSB)
16 For everything was created by Him, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities— all things have been created through Him and for Him.
17 He is before all things, and by Him all things hold together.
18 He is also the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He might come to have first place in everything.
.........{ Genesis 1:1 (HCSB)
..........,,,1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. }

Isaiah 43:10-11 (HCSB)
10 “You are My witnesses”— ⌊this is⌋ the LORD’s declaration— “and My servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe Me and understand that I am He. No god was formed before Me, and there will be none after Me.
11 I, I am Yahweh, and there is no other Savior but Me.
.........{ Luke 2:11 (HCSB)
...........
11 Today a Savior, who is Messiah the Lord, was born for you in the city of David. }

Philippians 2:5-8 (HCSB)
5 Make your own attitude that of Christ Jesus,
6 who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God as something to be used for His own advantage.
7 Instead He emptied Himself by assuming the form of a slave, taking on the likeness of men. And when He had come as a man in His external form,
8 He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death— even to death on a cross.

Philippians 2:9-10 (HCSB)
9 For this reason God highly exalted Him and gave Him the name that is above every name,
10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow— of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth—
..........{ 2 Kings 17:35 (ESV)
.............35 The LORD made a covenant with them and commanded them, “You shall not fear other gods or bow yourselves to them
..............or serve them or sacrifice to them, }

John 14:9-10 (HCSB)
9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been among you all this time without your knowing Me, Philip? The one who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I speak to you I do not speak on My own. The Father who lives in Me does His works.

Col 2:6 So then, just as you have received the Messiah Jesus the Lord, continue to live dependent on him.

Col 2:7 For you have been rooted in him and are being built up and strengthened in the faith, just as you were taught, while you continue to be thankful.

Col 2:8 See to it that no one enslaves you through philosophy and empty deceit according to human tradition, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to the Messiah,

Col 2:9 because all the essence of deity inhabits him in bodily form.

Col 2:10 And you have been filled by him, who is the head of every ruler and authority.

Col 2:11 In union with him you were also circumcised with a circumcision performed without human hands by stripping off the corrupt nature by the circumcision performed by the Messiah.

Col 2:12 When you were buried with the Messiah in baptism, you were also raised with him through faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.

Col 2:13 Even when you were dead because of your offenses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with him when he forgave us all of our offenses,

Col 2:14 having erased the charges that were brought against us, along with their obligations that were hostile to us. He took those charges away when he nailed them to the cross.

Col 2:15 And when he had disarmed the rulers and the authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in the cross.
