These are the deeds of the works of the law that we don't have to do anymore:

The Burnt Offering; The Grain Offering; The Fellowship Offering; The Sin Offering; The Guilt Offering; Dietary Laws; Purification After Childbirth; Cleansing From Infectious Skin Diseases; Cleansing From Mildew; Discharges Causing Uncleanness; The Day of Atonement; Rules for Priests; The Sabbath; Firstfruits; The Passover and Unleavened Bread; Feast of Weeks; Feast of Trumpets; Feast of Tabernacles; Oil and Bread Set Before The LORD; the Sabbath Year; The Year of Jubilee; Circumcision.

Those are the purification/ceremonial works of the law.

What James says is really clear. Faith alone is dead and can't save anyone.
James is not peddling a faith plus works blend for salvation....his comparison is made between saving faith and a mere belief in God which the JEWS have to this very day.....and the key is SHOW ME YOUR FAITH.....

Paul -->Romans-->before GOD MEN ARE JUSTIFIED AND SAVED BY FAITH

James--->>>The above faith that justifies before God can be seen by MEN BASED UPON OUR WORKS

That is the context....and you will not change my mind....I have studied this for 45 years......and intently the last 25

That is not in the Bible, it is what false teachers say like a mantra.

The reward is eternal life with God. Do you not know the scriptures?
False again......eternal life is the GIFT through faith and it is obvious that you do not know the scriptures......geesh

The debt is our cleaning ourselves. No one cleans themselves anymore.

We still have to obey God; we just don't have to get circumcised in the flesh and sacrifice animals anymore.
False again....Jesus said. "You are CLEAN THROUGH THE WORD WHICH I HAVE SPOKEN UNTO YOU"

Jesus WASHES US IN HIS BLOOD BY FAITH

man, the more you speak the more obvious it becomes that you really do not know what you are talking about...

Read what James 2 is saying (regarding Abraham offering up Isaac) in conjunction with Romans 4:2-5,9-12 (and context).

Abraham "offered up Isaac" [something like] 20 YEARS AFTER [the place where it says] "Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness."

Do you believe, in all those intervening years [something like 20 YEARS+], that Abraham's justification was in question in God's mind??

Grace:

H2603
חָנַן
chânan
khaw-nan'
A primitive root (compare H2583); properly to bend or stoop in kindness to an inferior; to favor, bestow; causatively to implore (that is, move to favor by petition): - beseech, X fair, (be, find, shew) favour (-able), be (deal, give, grant (gracious (-ly), intreat, (be) merciful, have (shew) mercy (on, upon), have pity upon, pray, make supplication, X very.
Total KJV occurrences: 77

This is where unmerited favor is found. Is OT. Is still in effect.

Grace:

G5485
χάρις
charis
khar'-ece
From G5463; graciousness (as gratifying), of manner or act (abstract or concrete; literal, figurative or spiritual; especially the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life; including gratitude): - acceptable, benefit, favour, gift, grace (-ious), joy liberality, pleasure, thank (-s, -worthy).
Total KJV occurrences: 156

So grace is the unmerited power of Holy Spirit working within. NT.

Anyone who promotes that we are saved by works has not understood what Jesus taught.
Jesus would not make a gospel saying that if we obey his words then we are in false 'works salvation'.

And you still have not clarified on the veil, is it a rule for today?
I have explained it. It was cultural for the times in that area.

The reward, the inheritance, the treasure, the crown, the promise…it is all eternal life in the kingdom of God.

Jesus was born, lived and died UNDER THE LAW which ratified the NEW COVENANT OF GRACE....mayhe you missed that boat....

Why won't you tell us what church you go to? Are you embarrassed?

Wrong....the gift is free based upon grace through faith, the inheritance is subject to faithfulness, crowns are given for particular deeds or actions and the promise of eternal life is based upon Christ, his work, his faith.....you must not actually study or regurgitate what someone spoon fed you.....

I already explained it that we have to have faith that his blood cleans us of the sins we repent of doing.
man, the more you speak the more obvious it becomes that you really do not know what you are talking about...
The debt was that we sinned and had to clean ourselves to have a relationship with God.
We were separated from God because of sin and we had the penalty of death.
Jesus takes our sins and gives us his righteousness.
We are washed by him and reconciled to God when we receive his Spirit to live inside us.

Abraham believed and OBEYED God BEFORE the scripture speaking of Abraham's faith:

Genesis 12:1
Now the LORD said to Abram, "Go forth from your country, And from your relatives And from your father's house, To the land which I will show you; 4 So Abram went, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him.

Hebrews 11:8 By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.

Later, Abraham's faith was tested even further.

There is no unmerited favor there, and more importantly, it is not in the scriptures.
