How is it ironic? I'd say that all new Bible interpretations and publications have been since 1960, because if they were from before 1960, they wouldn't be "new".

So... perhaps you'd care to rephrase the question and identify the point you're trying not to make.
What makes 1960 a cut-off date for....new?

Huh and I thought 1960 was old. But then I wasnt even born then.
can you elaborate, do you mean new as in NIV, NKJV, NRSV, NLT, NET all english translations with 'new' in the title?

I mean the New Testament is actually pretty old, but of course...its new.
The New Testament is by title new .....not new by date of publication.

Two responses after ten pages, and you still have not clarified your original post.

What's the point of answering your questions if you aren't willing to clarify them?

OP you started the post why did you ask the question seems a bit silly.

My bibles are pretty old, in that they were first printed 400 years ago but also work in church libraries and we would chuck anything that was too old and unreadable, books from 1960 thats say 'todays world' or 'modern christianity' and you find out they talking about 1960! Also any books with roman numerals in them I dont know how people figured out chapter and verse from them quickly in those days. The ones that say they are 'new' actually get out out of date VERY quickly. They would put everything that looked 'modern' on the covers instead of just having a plain black cover that says HOLY BIBLE in an attempt to seem new but it dates the book, plus paper quality deteriorates over time. All thosemass marketed books sold from the 1960s onwards are literally falling apart now. The glue doesnt hold, and the paper they print on is that cheap newsprint. Which gets mouldy.

Whereas scripture as it stands is timeless.

Do you work in libraries? We have a weeding schedule that librarians all over the world go by to refresh collections the acronoym is MUSTY. The thing with Bibles is we wouldnt chuck out a well loved translation just to replace it with the latest translation. We just buy a brand new edition of the same title to replace it.
Also we would guage which ones are being read and borrowed.

You all arguing over the words every and all? What????

Many words in english have the same meaning, thats why crossword puzzles are so popular.
The english dictionary expands all the time as words go in and out of use. But thats the nature of english.

I wish people wouldnt get upset over the variation in our common language.

Rather...the thing about kjv and other translations is more to do with the majority text than the language itself. Kjv just has the fuller scripture whereas some others dont they miss words or entire verses. Thats what I found anyway. Im not saying kjv has everything correct all the time but compared to a lot of other english translations its just better. Thats why its stood the test of time. If it was a poor translation, it would no longer be in print and people wouldnt be blesed by it. It wouldnt have lasted over 400 years.

I mean who reads the geneva bible or bishops bible these days. Or the cotton patch translation. Or the one edited by greg laurie. Who even seriously studies the message? I would go for one that The saints over the ages trust and that happens to be kjv.
Deal with the serious ones.....Gods instead of God....?

For the love of $$$
No doubt a motivator. But, I believe there is a more sinister basis.

Remember...from history depending on your age, the early 60's was a time of great world change. socially, civilly and morally. It gained in popularity as time marched on, resulting in many new......new age interpretations of scriptures.

Coalesced, was several new versions of The Bible with many subtle changes contrary to three separate warnings in G-d's word, Changes have been intentional and has caused much division in the Christian community to this day. This, full filling scripture....."tickle my ears and tell me what I want to hear". Also,......"in the end times there will be great delusions". We know we are i the end times.

Please, if only that you don't perpetuate errors of ignorance, read James White's The King James Only Controversy (2nd ed.).

You have not identified any particular issues, so all you are doing at present is spreading fear. Rather spread truth based on verifiable facts. Support your allegations with specific evidence, or don't make them.

The evidence is there...read it. Why would it be ...fear?
If you disagree...do it respectfully and show us your cards....otherwise, Hush.

I don't agree we are in end times at all! Jesus clearly says that we will not know the day or hour!

"But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only." Matt 24:36

This dispensational nonsense is utter garbage!

Jesus may come now, or tomorrow, or in 2000 years. Stop predicting the end!

The only people who are getting those "tickling ears" are people like you, who listen to false prophets and liars. Like Hagee! Wasn't the end supposed to come in Sept 2016? After 4 blood moons? Well, it didn't, but he whipped up all the dispies into a frenzy. And sold a lot of books, and made a lot of money.

And so many others, who do this! Whether on their own YouTube channel, or from the pulpit on Sunday!

We won't get into what a stretch it is that somehow, updating the Bible after 400 years means the end is nigh!

I would love to know what psychological condition causes people to go off the deep end with end times? Simple brainwashing? Lack of education? Or some kind of conditioning that makes weak minds?? I'll let you know, if I ever find out what causes this abiblical madness!

One book stands alone, always will. New versions will come and fall away, updated, changed, improved, etc.

Read how Paul describes the last days in 2 Timothy 3. We have to be close if not there.

This is rich. You started the thread with an oblique question. Ten pages later, you still have not clarified your question. You jump in every few days and add little more than innuendo.

How about you take your own advice. Either ante up with some genuine evidence, or admit that all you have is whispers and mutterings. You haven't provided anything concrete with which to disagree yet. Your argument is a fallacious attempt to reverse the burden of proof; I don't play that game.

Did not say a time The Bible says to look up at all the signs and when you see them the time grows near. G-d directs us to be aware of the signs.

You need to study scriptures.
