GALATIANS, CHAPTER 6

Vs. 1 thru 5) 1) Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. 2) Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
3) For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
4) But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. 5) For every man shall bear his own burden.

[What law of Christ do we fulfill when bearing one anothers burdens? By doing so, are we able to have compassion for our fellow believers, and not think we are better than others? Do we then think less of ourselves and more of them? How do we prove our own work?]

Vs. 6 thru 11: 6) Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. 7) Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8) For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9) And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. 10) As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. 11) Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.

[Carnal work/living will only reap carnal pleasures, but Spiritual work/living will reap eternal life, right? Is the continual well doing the key to reaping the promised reward?]

Vs. 12 thru 15: 12) As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. 13) For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.
14) But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. 15) For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

[Does this not refer to our being born again? Becoming a new man in Christ? Being made a new man unto good works to live a holy life as spoken of in the 2nd Chapter of Ephesians?

Vs. 16 thru 18: 16) And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. 17) From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.
18) Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. (To the Galatians written from Rome.)

[Is the Rule we are to walk by the written Word of God? It isn't the Law of Moses, or our Works that we should seek to comfort us, and be in our hearts, but it is the Grace of God that comforts and strengthens us. As God told Paul "My grace is sufficient for you."]

I would love for someone/or as many as desire, to answer the questions posed, and, if they wish, to add their thoughts to this Chapter. Thanks........

GALATIANS, CHAPTER 6

[What law of Christ do we fulfill when bearing one anothers burdens? By doing so, are we able to have compassion for our fellow believers, and not think we are better than others? Do we then think less of ourselves and more of them? How do we prove our own work?].

Love is what is fulfilled when we bear each others burdens. Love is what causes us to have compassion for our fellow believers, because we are in the same situation as they are having no more strength to overcome than they do.

But we can help them to lean on Christ, and by doing that help them with their burdens. This doesn't cause ourselves to become puffed up because we aren't the one lifting the heavy load, Christ is doing the heavy lifting.

We prove our own work by the knowledge that we have of Christ. By our study and revelation we can try to help others to understand what they must do, or not do, in order to come to Christ and be relieved of some of their burdens.

Matthew 11:28-30
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

I mainly want to thank you for posting the scriptures as you posed your thoughts and questions. It encourages us to actually read them rather than answering based on our memory about those scriptures. :)

Love in Jesus,

.

No we do not think less of ourselves nor more of them. We are to believe that the word of God ( which is proven) shall deliver them out of there burdens and snares regardless of the circumstances. As Jesus sat with sinners as the example giving no heed to what reputation or criticism he would encounter so we must also face those who esteem their self higher than the next .
Doing the father's will does not put you in a comfort zone in most cases. Always remembering we are not the answer but Christ is. In well doing do all things as doing them unto Jesus himself. At work rest or play. Especially for those who are of the house of God.
Setting a example with you actions can be exhausting and not noticed but remembering that your father sees all and does reward diligentence. Focus on the Lord and his leading with the heart of Jesus being a diligent servant giving thanks to God for all opportunity to serve him. This will increase our faith as well as bring glory to God which is why we were created and sent.

John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

John 13:

12 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him;

13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.

14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.

15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

I looked up the word "fulfill". It is the Greek word anaplēróō:

anaplēróō (from 303 /aná, "up, completing a process," which intensifies 4137 /plēróō, "fill") – properly, fulfill, fill up completely. As a strengthened form of 4137 /plēróō ("fulfill"), 378 (anaplēróō) is "not the filling up of a perfect vacancy, as with the simple 4137 /plēróō – but rather the supplying of what is lacking to fullness; the filling up of a partial void"

My thoughts...in this letter Paul was troubled by other men, especially those circumcised (i.e jewish) he kept trying to push gentile believers to be circumcised as well, to avoid persecution.
But circumcision in the flesh is nothing.

Its the spiritual circumcision of the heart that counts. Bearing in our body the marks of Lord Jesus...

It must have been difficult at the time, when those jewish and circumcised believed themselves to be superior and above those that werent. Paul tells Galatians not to be deceived.

The Galaitians were belivers that God called foolish which carries the understand they did not know God in their hearts. Christians can do foolish thing like not mixing faith in what they do hear called the hearing of faith .

It is the faith of Christ working in us that begins the good work of His salvation in us, our continuing confidence he will work it till the last day . When a person acts as a fool and does not mix faith in what they do hear their hard hearts remain hard.

I would offer. If we begin with his faith working in us called the "hearing of faith" with that same hearing he will work it out till the last day when we do receive our new incorruptible bodies.

Galatians 3 King James Version (KJV) O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
