Since I wear a hat that says OSAS, what could we tag the brothers and sisters on the other side of the fence (just so we're playing fair) :)

I have a good one from Mathew 24.

After refuting OSAS with versus 10-12 with
And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.

Then heres the acronym OWETTEWBS:
13
But the One Who Endures To The End Will Be Saved!

I think thats a good and honest fair one...

Do you notice that I haven't seen a sincere acronym on here whatsoever that truly states the believe, whereas Once Saved Always Saved pretty much summarizes the other stance completely and honestly--there is no backbiting or namecalling there.

God bless

Thanks for the humor guys ,

I think outsiders already know Christians can't get along. It's pretty obvious when there are so many different churches around.

I try to wherever possible take an objective, rational look at the scriptures. If some are posting about the pros of OSAS, it's good to consider the other side too.

*shaking head*

The way I see things, there is the "grace camp" and the "faith camp". While I will admit that the faith camp has been far more aggressive lately in defending their views, if you look at the forums over the last few months, you will find that is has been the grace camp that has been on the offensive.

I have seen a lot more finger pointing, name calling, and down right judging from the grace camp. Even to the point where people have taken it upon themselves to boldly claim that people of the opposing view are guilty of heresy and are going to hell. What ever happened to extending the same grace to people in which you yourself have been given?

Honestly, in my opinion, the mods should have seen this coming and done something about it a long time ago.

How about we not label ANYONE huh??? Do you really think that's a Christian thing to do anyways??? Why cant we all just be Christians????? I had never even heard of OSAS until I came on to this board, and I think that's really sad cos you all don't seem to have anything better to do than fight and be nasty to each other!

We're all Christians, all followers of Christ. Grow up.

Even to the point where people have taken it upon themselves to boldly claim that people of the opposing view are guilty of heresy and are going to hell.

Exactly.. this prompted me to consider looking at the non-OSAS point of view..

I was not the one to start this. Those going on the offensive promoting the pro-OSAS (aka eternal security) doctrine prompted me to refute them. Neither do I believe OSAS believers are not saved or following another Jesus or that we need to pray for them (to convert them)..as some of they do.

Referring to the quote below it includes statements that non-believers in OSAS could be going to hell if we don't repent of denying eternal security... the allegation that we non-OSAS believers possibly believe in "another Jesus" (which is impossible, there is only one Jesus as I'm aware...Paul? was making a statement to confirm that there is no better or more powerful or more perfect Jesus they need to believe in, not condemning those who don't believe in OSAS of following another Jesus)..

Plus the call for OSAS believers to pray for non-OSAS believers. I appreciate all and any prayers but a bit offended that you feel we are so much in error that we need your prayers. What would you pray anyway "dear God please make MahogonySnail a OSAS-believer like myself". There's no need to treat us like non-Christians. Although if this is how fellow Christians are treated I don't know if I'd want to accept your version of Christianity if I was a non-Christian.

Yet, I'm the one with some "infraction notice" for offending people. Yet it's amazing how all these offending statements by pro-OSAS believers go unnoticed.

The relevant statements are highlighted in bold below:

From the "Doubters of Eternal Security" post #1

To those who doubt eternal security, take a good long ponder about what I have said. Because basically I have shown you how complicated your position is and you could be going to hell tonight if you die not repenting of the sin of denying eternal security. Unrepentant sin btw IS bad works.
...

Please dont take this as an attack or condescending message. I am very much concerned with EVERY thread I write, and do this out of love to help those who dont understand eternal life. I wrote this thread to hopefully get those who deny eternal security to THINK REALLY HARD about what they are believing, because it could just be that they are trusting ANOTHER Jesus taught nowhere in the word of God(2 Corinthians 11:3-4). I ask those who DO believe in eternal security, to pray for those who do not...

and again, in "OSAS and "Never saved in the first place" Refuted post #21"
statements such as this, simply for not believing in OSAS...

If you want to eat and drink worthily, then you better repent of your doctrine and stop propagating it to others. You are wrong, you are off and you are in error. You have no fellowship with those that belong to God through the blood of Christ.

An infraction notice? Are you serious? Charismatics get blasted on here all the time but nothing ever gets done about it because the mods roughly hold to the same doctrine of those doing the blasting. Charismatics have been accused of heresy, blasphemy and apostasy on these boards and I assume not a one infraction notice was sent out but the behavior has yet to cease. However, Mahogany gets an infraction because he decides to step up and defend his faith with scripture and biblical concepts that the opposing camp have yet to come up with an answer for?

In my honest opinion, the only way to keep the peace would be for the mods to truly take a nondenominational / unbiased stance that this site professes to hold. When a debate does begin to break out, the mods could simply send out a message to those involved that if they want to continue there debate they should do so via a private messages.

Just my two cents...
