Your argument in regards to Acts 2:38 is not in harmony with (Luke 24:47; 3:19; 5:31; 10:43-47; 11:17,18; 15:8,9; 16:31; 26:18) or numerous other passages of scripture that make it clear we are saved when we believe/place faith in Jesus Christ for salvation "apart from additions or modifications" (Luke 8:12; John 1:12; 3:15,16,18,36; 5:24; 6:29,40,47; 11:25,26; Acts 1:16; 13:39; Romans 3:22-28; 4:5-6; 10:4; 1 Corinthians 1:21; Ephesians 2:8,9; 2 Timothy 3:15; 1 John 5:13 etc..).
It sounds to me like perhaps you are having a difficult time seeing anything beyond your church indoctrination.
