Since poor and middle class society are too busy living pay check to pay check few have more than 6 mos income saved. The wealthy save, invest or send money offshore. Trickle down (voo doo) economics dosn't work. It's proven!

But the poor & middle class spend most of their income quickly so instead of giving tax shelters to the rich let's flip the script and give that money to the folks that spend it. It'll wind up in the pockets of the wealthy any way and the poor will have a better standard of living too. Just a thought.

In economic theory "trickle down" or "trickle up" economics is not "a thing" to quote Mr. Shapiro.

There is no theory, so there is nothing to disprove, all it is, is a sound bite for politicians to argue about.

The "Eat The Rich" philosophy is always a non-starter. And people espousing the principle never explain who these nebulous "poor" people are that they keep whinging about. The government has been throwing money at "the poor" for half a century and it hasn't solved the problem. Every billionaire in the country could give away half their money right now and it would not solve the problem of poverty. Jesus told the Disciples that the poor would always exist and He never advocated forcefully removing people's money to care for them. He encouraged individuals who had the where-with-all to help the poor out of the goodness of their hearts to do so because The Spirit lead them to.

What you want is for successful people to be monetarily punished for being successful. You want Socialism. Why does success irritate you? The problem with America's economic system is not Capitalism itself. The entire problem is government spending and unfunded entitlements. Why is it that people who forward your philosophy never apply the Biblical concept that people are supposed to work for what they get instead of having it handed to them? Unfunded entitlement programs like Medicare, Medicaid, Welfare, Food Stamps, Housing etc., make up almost half of the government's mandatory spending in the federal budget. You don't see a problem there? That funding comes from a deficit Black Hole, and the people receiving the money contribute nothing to the system at all. Isn't the California Hippie Commune philosophy that everyone contributes to the system? Of course, in reality, the Hippie philosophy never worked because it was a collection of burn-outs who advocated anarchy and wanted everything handed to them. "Down with The Man, but I can't be bothered to find a job." Haves and Have Nots is not a symptom of Capitalism. It is a symptom of a fallen, sinful and selfish world. And that problem cannot be fixed, or even moderated by legislation.

If the successful are not giving their fair share, they will answer for that. It isn't up to you or the government to somehow force them to give up all their money.

Uh, I was just making fun of Reaganomics. There's no solution to poverty any artificial attempt to do so would only change the cost of living for most and it would quickly adjust itself so the wealth disparity would still be a prominent issue. I'd never expect such an idea to pass congress. Some may even think wealth is a sign of holiness like the Jews did in the days of Caesar. That's why I think they were astounded hear the Lord teaching: "It's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for the rich to go to Heaven." I don't even know how rich qualifies as rich. We are not supposed to be of the world any more but our hearts must be circumcised to reflect our new spiritual compass. The most important aspect is what do we care about economics and national pride or christian values? We cannot have 2 masters or we will love 1 and hate the other. Or might I add hate them both. The question is do we love more, poor or money? Would you rather be a wealthy investment banker or the pastor of a mission?

I'll never have a million dollars but I'll always have Jesus. Salvation means more to me than all of the money in all of the banks in all the world and the good news for some is that Jesus died for the rich too. Only he can forgive our greed, ego and selfishness. The widows mite is a lesson about giving unselfishly.

quite a lot of sources posted the REAL stats and no I don't work for any of the sources, even the 'imaginary' ones Wikipedia, CNN, USA Today, and , (drum roll) Forbes, plus anyone reporting FACTS

Seems like you're imagining things the way you want so I'm not goin to waste time defending FACTS and what millions of people like here.

Neither will I waste time refuting imaginary claims about the 'happy' life of socialism.
I lived in California in the 1950's and I live here today...difference between day and night.

Once again, if you are going to float a comment like that, surely, you would just as easily be able to also cite your sources. Credible people would do so. Posting an embedded link is pretty simple these days.

Yes CNN-style statistics cite what we would think of as "happy" countries and then put them of the top of the list of "happy" countries that are also Socialist countries. The problem is that, as Liberal sources are always wont to do, they re-define the term "Socialist" to make it fit their determination. Those lists always place Nordic/Scandinavian countries at the top of the list. Then they toss in Iceland, Canada, New Zealand and Australia to round out the list. The problem with those lists is that those countries are not Socialist countries. There is no doubt that they have some Socialist-leaning components, but they are not true Socialist countries, so those lists are not accurate. Actual Socialist countries like Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba are never on the list because those countries are decidedly unhappy, so that wouldn't look good as Rachael Maddow or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was trying to tell everyone what a wonderful system Socialism is.

I note that while you continually claim statistics, each post is completely devoid of any link that cites your "source." Why is that? It isn't hard to do a Google search. Just a few simple key strokes. CNN, CNBC, etc. all play the same game. They list Nordic/Scandinavian countries at the top and then add Canada, New Zealand, and Australia, none of which are actually Socialist countries. You couldn't do anything with that, so you left it alone. Then you talk about credibility?

When you make a statement like "The latest stats show the top 10 happiest countries are all Socialist, by all sources." those "sources" list countries that are not actually Socialist.

You want to try again? Post some links. Show us the source of your claim. It really shouldn't be that difficult. The more you balk at doing so and try and focus on others just means you are stalling and have nothing of significance. People with truth on their side have no problems producing their sources immediately when asked to do so. Knowing this, surely your next post will be filled with links to your sources.

It is quite possible to have money and not be a servant of money.

Socialism is far more flawed than a free market economy which what Reagan did support and there is not such thing as `trickle down economic theory
