John 14:21- He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him

Sure I am ...right LOL
John is the one who said that "WE KNOW that we have passed from death unto life because we love the brethren

Sounds like John is saying "love of the brethren" is a litmus test for salvation to me.

Also, doing good reveals we know Him and doing evil reveals that we don't

3 John 11 Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.

And if you do not have fruits, you do not have the wisdom that is from above, according to James.

James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

I'm calm. I am tired of people only accepting 10 percent of the New Testament

Like it's OK if our christianity ends at justification, and there is no more work that God does in our lives

And you misrepresented me when you said that I said we maintain our salvation. Perserverance of the saints says that we are kept by the power of God. That is GOD maintaining our salvation. You should apologize for misrepresenting me.

I was thinking along the lines of sour grapes :giggle:
You misrepresented me to, until I showed you DC's argument and you said you disagreed with his statement as well. UnderGrace basically disagreed too, when she said a person can bear fruit the next day or 50 years later. (in reference to a new convert.

Go ahead and mock the scriptures and show your irreverance. Just like they did with preserves.

The Bible is not a toy to be played with or a joke to be laughed at.
I won't keep you up late, mockers.

Psalm 35:16- With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.

Good night.

Post script- John said "by this we know that we have passed from death unto life, when we love the brethren.

and you said "only believers love"

Sounds like trying to contradict scripture to me.

You've got your nose all out of joint Mac. It is not looking good on your part.
I'm sorry quoting scripture has me looking bad. Would you rather me quote Dr. Phil or Oprah?

What do I care what mockers think about me?

Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

I have been lied about at least a dozen times.

JUST LIKE ARGUELESS was slandered. I posted the proof, go read it.

Good night.

So be wise, y'all and take E.G's advise and don't reply to me. Put me on ignore if you have to.

My words are not for you people anyways. I already know that you will not accept them, not even the scriptures I post. That's on you

For the last time, good night. I am putting you, DC, EG, Under Grace, and GB9 on ignore. SO don't claim I ran away if I don't reply.

Jeremiah 15:17- I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation.

Yes it would seem so
They are not for you because you already demonstrated that you do not fairly represent people, as evidenced by the fact that you said that I claimed that we somehow retain our own salvation. That was an egregious misrepresentation for which you never apologized for.

All of the men below held to the same position I do on perserverance/ Do you see anything about "man maintaining his own salvation?

God sovereignly decrees that none of his elect shall perish. As a result the goal of election is assured. All of the elect come to repentance. All of the elect come to faith. All of the elect are saved. None of the elect perish. R. C. Sproul on perserverance of the saints.

Did Christ finish his work for us? Then … he will also finish his work in us. John Flavel

Sorry Mr. Mac I do not read writers from the Calvinist camp anymore...been set free, not going back.

I think we are talking past each other, and I am confused completely by every conversation we have had, so farewell.
