I'm a thinking person like you. Perhaps you can change my mind. You may paraphrase since I don't feel much like reading an encyclopedia.
I am only speaking to the theoretical side not what is actually happening in the USA or other countries, very different.

The theory of free market economy focus is on a government that does not set or control prices, supply, or demand. The factors are set/driven by the market and by the supply and demand of a product or service

A laissez-faire economy, I think has a focus on the role of the government, where transactions between different companies or people are not subject to tariffs, government subsidies, and enforced monopolies. There is no role for government in this economy.

They do have many similarities I agree, however I think I like the term free market economy, because it speaks to the fact that people are free to exchange good and services, where competition, supply and demand set the price.

Capitalism again similar however more focused on the creation of wealth and the ownership of capital and the means of production. Some state capitalism as a theory is more closely linked to innovation and progress.

the few control everything, the masses have little say in anything. same monster different mask.

our (usa) markets a hardly free, the rich have the government in their pocket and manipulate the markets at will. read about prestin tucker or john delorean. what happened to them is what happens when you try and compete with the wrong people. thats not a free market.
Yup, not a free market to be sure.

BTW, they were both exonerated and Yes Tucker got the shaft, but DeLorean's car was a turkey. De Lorena's case was way, way different. He tried to make up the short fall through ill gotten gains. He got caught in an illegal sting. He was no threat to G.M. Ford or Chrysler. Be that as it may there no true free market economies in existence today.

Not that I know of, however, it cannot be disputed though, that competition and the incentive to innovate has created the most wealth for the most people.

i dont know the details of tucker but have read on delorean. he had never been involved in drugs before and out of nowhere he gets busted for drugs, enough cocain to put you away for life, enough drugs your not gonna get a slap on the wrist, but what happened, all charges were dropped, all he had to do was agree to get out of the auto business. corruption at its finest.
