Isa 28:9 To whom will he teach knowledge, and to whom will he explain the message? To children just weaned from milk? To those just taken from the breast?

Isa 28:10 For it is: "Do this and do that, do this and do that, Line upon line, line upon line, a little here, a little there."

Isa 28:11 Very well, then, by strange lips and foreign tongues the LORD will speak to this people

Isa 28:12 to whom he said, "This is the resting place, so give rest to the weary"' and "This is the place of repose"—but they would not listen.

Isa 28:13 So, then, the message from the LORD to them will become: "Do this and do that, do this and do that, line upon line, line upon line, a little here, a little there," so that they will go, but fall backward, and be injured, snared, and captured.

What are the benefits of the infilling of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit?
There is evidently much confusion about the Holy Spirit and His relation to believers. Therefore we need to be clear about the meanings of the various terms used in Scripture. We also need to be clear that the Holy Spirit is neither the Father nor the Son, but He is the third person of the triune Godhead (Mt 28:19)

1. Those who repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ receive the GIFT of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38).

2. This is what John the Baptist meant when he said that Christ would baptize WITH the Holy Ghost (Mt 3:11) [NOTE: Scripture does not say "baptized in" the Holy Ghost, manifested by speaking in tongues]

3. At the same time the Holy Spirit baptizes or IMMERSES the believer into the Body of Christ (1 Cor 12:12,13). [This is the baptism BY the Holy Ghost.]

4. The Holy Spirit then regenerates and renews the believer (Titus 3:4-7)

5. The Holy Spirit then begins to INDWELL the believer (Rom 8:11)

6. The believer is FILLED WITH (or fully controlled by) the Holy Spirit when he/she walks (or lives) in the Spirit, and produces the FRUIT of the Spirit (Gal 5:22-26)

7. The fulness of the Spirit is also manifested in speaking the Word of God boldly (Acts 4:8,31)

8. The Holy Spirit also gives every believer one or more SPIRITUAL GIFTS of the Spirit for the edification of the Church (1 Cor 12-14, and other passages). [NOTE: No gift is given for self-edification]

9. Every believer also receives the unction or anointing of the Holy Spirit, which enables that person to understand spiritual things (1 John 2:20,27).

10. The Holy Spirit is also the Divine Comforter of the believer who also guides every believer into all truth. (John 16:7-14)

You are confusing indwelling of the HS with the Filling of the HS. There is also, walking in the Holy Spirit too.
Filling and walking may be the same thing.
No, I'm not. The OP makes it clear that the baptism of the H. S. was mentioned, though it's confusing that the infilling part was included. There are NOT two baptisms of the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 5:18 Don’t be drunk with wine, which will ruin your life, but be filled with the Spirit.
You should also add verses19 to 21, as they tell us what being filled with the Spirit looks like.

I think your note is a clear but incorrect statement not backed by a similar biblical statement.

The two biblical statements I'm thinking of seem to suggest the opposite of what you propose.

1 Corinthians 14:4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifyeth himself.

...And...

Jude 21 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

Edify means to "build up", and "praying in the Holy Ghost" means speaking in tongues. (Which also perfectly matches the 1 Cor. 14:4 statement)

Love in Jesus,
Kelby

What are the benefits of the baptism of the spirit?

1. Through being baptised INTO christ, his death and burial, We are able to walk in newness of life, Will be resurrected as he was, are freed from the slavery of sin, as we are dead to sin but alive to Christ.

Rom 6:
3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have become [a]united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be [b]in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old [c]self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be [d]done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;7 for he who has died is [e]freed from sin.
8 Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, [f]is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him. 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11 Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

2. Made members of one body. All different, having parts we are created to do.. by being baptized into that glorious body By God himself

1 cor 12: For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For [j]by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

3. We are all made sons of God, having become one with Christ, and having been CLOTHED with Christ. By being Baptized into Christ (as the children of Israel were baptized into moses)

Gal 3: For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is [aj]neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

4. Spiritually Circumcised (cleansed) with the Circumcision does by the hands of God. Through spiritual baptism. As such, Made us alive in Christ based on the fact he removed the debt (penalty of sin) having nailed it to the cross. (HS baptizes us into his death thus united with him in his death, by God himself)

Col 2: 11 and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ; 12 having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. 13 When you were dead [k]in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,14 having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

These are but 4 things we benefit from being baptised by God himself.. There are many more

No sis

If we are not baptized by god we are not saved

Baptism represents washing not signs

The signs came because the hs came into or was poured out (to anoint) on them not because they were baptized.

On the day of Pentecost. The disciples were the first humans to literally experience the baptism of god and anointing of god
Yp
You church likes to focus
On the baptism part and in doing so misinterpret what it means and reject the anointing part or dismiss it. Both of which are given to ALL who are saved. If those things do not occurs when you CLAiM you trusted god your not saved period
Does not the Word baptism itself mean whelmed EG?

Does your church teach what you are saying? Or is this your own reasoning?

Water is the washing EG. Then continually by the scripture...washing of the water of the Word. The sprinkling of blood on our conscience deals with sin. The Word deals with our character.

To be whelmed by Spirit is to stop the work of man and do the works of God. Or He moves through you.

Without the Spirit of Christ, we are none of His. Born again. Salvation through repentance, turning to God through Son. Jesus breathing on His disciples.

Then Pentecost.

I agree there are not two.

I already answered this.

Water is not the washing sister. Baptism is. We are washed by God himself (titus 3: 5) Baptism all through the HS represented cleansing

The priest had to be cleansed, The utensils of the temple and things had to be cleansed All of these were done by baptism in water. Which was SYMBOLIC of what God was going to do throughh his own baptism, as prophesied by John the baptist himself

And once again, Every church I know of teaches this, except for those who believe baptism is REQUIRED for salvation (who I thought were the only ones until I met people like you)

And no, it is not my own view. But it is the word of god. As I shared in my last post. About at least 4 passages where we are told what we get by the baptism of God. Once of which is being spiritually cleaned

I never said you did.. Get your facts strait sis :p Lol. I just said those are the only people I heard say we are washed by water not holy spirit baptism.

Jesus is my pattern

He was baptised by the HS on the day he was immersed in water by John.

The rest of us are baptized in water AFTER we are saved (baptized by God himself)

All baptisms (from moses to Jesus to Us) are acts of proclaiming to the world (either moses proclaiming to the children of Israel. God proclaiming to the people at the river, or us proclaiming our testimony) you as an individual are gods children. In fact, Oiur baptisms are a party. We bring our non christian friends, and many have come to christ hearing the testimony of those being baptized. It is too bad all baptism are not this way

Also.....I don't say this in the not by works thread for decon has enough to deal with and I don't want to sidetrack an important thread.

It's not by the works of man that anyone can do. Even the unsaved will do good deeds.

The baptism of Holy Spirit reveals the power of God or the anointing of God within. Not just upon but also within. This is the whelmed in Spirit, and flesh is put under.

And it's the refreshing, for man rests then in Him. No longer will works of sheer will power to put flesh under, but we rest in the Cross of His death, but rise also with Him in resurrection life.

Water shows the death and resurrection. Spirit shows the power to live the resurrection life.

Thus we have the sabbath rest.

The spirit is both water (see romans 4, and the rivers of living water) And the power.
