I suspect a 70 year old male would be interested in a 50 year old female
Men tend to be superficial, they are generally looking for someone younger, while women are looking for $$$.
If you think I'm wrong, just go on a dating sight, use your drivers license photo, and include that your flat broke. Responses will be zip.
This question may get me into trouble but why do men chase younger women not older or a similar age esp 30 plus.

I was being a tad sarcastic, but the answer is obvious. Younger women are generally prettier, less wrinkles, and thinner. Not all men, but the superficial ones would rather have a fox on their arm rather than a grandma
.
Many have experienced loneliness but I want to encourage you that Jesus is enough. When we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us. There's no greater intimacy then that spent alone with Jesus. He's all sufficient. His love is measureless.
For me, it was the other way. I was always interested in older women.

Most men either consciously or subconsciously are always looking for a fertile woman to have kids with.. If a man is comparing two woman the younger one will nearly always win because she will have a higher chance and more opportunities to bare Children..
Even guys who are not looking to have Children will prefer the younger just out of instinct..
That's right, we men are all biological robots, blindly operating on the programming of our instinct. All that stuff you have heard about humans being intelligent is a lie. We all just do what our instinct tells us to do.
This could be. There's a cocky young man... well, allegedly he's a man... at w*rk who was deriding me for still being single. He said it was evidence that I "had no game."
I said, "Dude, think about it. I'm 41 and still single, I don't have any blatantly obvious defects... you think me being single is an ACCIDENT? This is intentional!"
He just shook his head and kept muttering about "no game." Apparently game was all his brain could process.

Because younger is more attractive. That is why most women would want to drink from the fountain of youth. But there are some men who are hesitant to have a much younger wife because there is a big chance that younger wife will cheat on him and will replace him with someone younger.
I pursued an older woman.... now she is my fiancee...
Age was a bigger deal to her than to me, I wanted her because of her character, beliefs, and love for Jesus..
Maybe the reason some men prefer a younger woman is because it is harder for a younger man and older woman to function in a healthy marriage with the younger man as the spiritual leader when he may have less experience.
(took awhile for my lady to accept that the age difference was insignificant, she was wise and wanted to make sure she found someone she felt could be a good husband to her...)
SMD is very blessed to have such a rare guy like you who were very persistent. Congratulations. You are also blessed because she is a sweet and kind woman and pretty too. Beauty fades as we grow old but love is what makes the marriage last.
I know older men who love to show off their younger trophy wives. Maybe that's where they find their significance.
