Thanks for sharing.

We owe these great soldiers everything.

They gave us everything, and paid the ultimate price.

Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!

It could have been six of one and half a dozen of the other. Cowardice would also be seen as a weakness by him. He failed and he knew it. Isn't that why people kill themselves? Punishment means rough handling. Suicide certainly qualifies.
For sure... a coward perhaps fearing he would be made a public spectacle like Mussolini

And what's this got to do with Alyssa Milano?
I honestly do not know why anyone keeps any conversation going with ratmouse

his entire argument goes something like this:

rat: you say water is wet but I hold it is not because I myself have not verified it

other person: everyone in the world knows water is wet. there is evidence through the entire world that water is wet

rat: that is your opinion. I have not felt water so therefore it is not wet

other person: what is the matter with you? how can you say water is not wet when their is nothing but evidence that water is wet

rat: that proves absolutely nothing. what if the people who say water is wet have defective nerves and experience something that is not true? that means water is not wet

other person: (becoming irritated and justifiably so) everyone knows water is wet!

rat: well I don't know that and that makes your statement false

ratmouse cannot get off the exercise wheel in his little cage but he seems to be doing a good job of getting others to join him on it
This analogy made me laugh, but it is inaccurate, in that your metaphor, "proving" water to be wet does not rely on the sole fact that everyone else claims it to be so. If it did, this would be the bandwagon logical fallacy. I'm the sort of rat who would rather be right yet have everyone think he be wrong, than be wrong and have everyone think he be right. On Judgement Day, I'm sure all will be revealed, but such matters may not be so important then. :)

Or perhaps the self-styled-elites were feeling that the commoners would revolt were they to find out WWII was just a scam to give Communism a kick start, create the new State of Israel, and get the commoners to kill each other, so they had to come up with a story that Hitler had died rather than let people know he was really living it up in Argentina?

The money trail makes it pretty clear about the purposes of both wars .... however Hitler did in fact kill himself, he had no opportunity for escape, as a narcissist he could not accept his defeat and was probably even in denial as he put the bullet into his head.

No positive confirmation, no death certificate is the usual rule. I don't see why Hitler's case be any different. But I agree the story is much more convenient if he killed himself and it all ended happily ever after.

If your central point is that war is preplanned and executed by the military industrial complex what difference does the death of Hitler have to this argument....you are conflating two separate events.

Interesting that Alabama is now putting forward a bill on medical castration for sex offenders. I wonder if that will pass...

Any one have opinions on it?
I have mixed feelings about it.
Never really gave it any thought.
I need to think about it a little more.
But my reflex reaction is that it may not be a bad idea for some of them.

I would think it appropriate for those who abuse children sexually

and probably serial rapists

but doubt that would pass in most places

it's a pretty drastic measure. I wonder if those having had that done to them, might turn to murder

I am sure we have all read that rape is actually a crime of anger and not sex...what about raping an infant or a 10 year old and then killing her?

actually the death penalty might cover all the ground

Ya know, it actually may not stop serial rapists and child sex abusers from keepinh them repeating their unspeakable acts, but for me I would maybe advocate the 3 strike rule. Third time and its actual real physical castration.

all I can think of there, are 3 harmed souls.

there are drugs to stop the urges .. but they have to keep taking them

but like I said, anger and murder might follow

I don't think punishment changes behavior in an adult necessarily.

Yeah, well I stated the same thing in my post about it probably not being a deterrent.
We live in NT times, so no eye for an eye.
At the same time God does sometimes use government and authority to exact people's attention to their evil ways, and to Him.

Generally it is not an answer, I know.
So what if the judge left it up to the family? Then what?

So you said what not to do, what would you do?

in a perfect world? what would I do?

put em altogether on an island somewhere :sneaky:

prevention seems about the only 'cure' here so drugs, incarceration or snip snip in the worst cases

if the judge left it up to the family, I would tend to think there would be physical alterations

I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you don't know here, but this is not the type of crime that you can make monetary restitution for

it's personal so asking the family would or might exact worse punishment then the judge would give I would tend to think

Yes, I concur. Sometimes, in fact usually, there are no real answers. Sin stinks and complicates every. Single. Thing.
This side of heaven it is a fallen world.
The NT says let God take care of judging and punishment.
Capital punishment and torture are not a Christian's domain.
Not only is it Gods area to decide what to do, but if we condone or take part in any kind of violence outside of measured self defense we are tainting our relationship with Jesus.
What could be worth that?

right

it stinks and it hurts

the NT says ALL of creation groans

I have never lifted a finger in revenge for very justifiable things
