If someone accidentally killed someone, they could flee to a city of refuge and be protected from the hand of the victim's avenger. Kind of like a sentence for manslaughter. How long were they to remain before they could safely leave the city's bounds?

Until the current high priest died!

Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss.

Luke 22:47-48 King James Version (KJV)
47 And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.

48 But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?

Very interesting........I did not know this. This causes me to ponder.......why till the current high priest died?

Could the victim's avenger only be legally able to take the accidental murderer's life under the current high priest and after that if the victim's avenger killed the murderer he would no longer be protected under law but, would be a murderer..............

Then, there was safety for both - the victim's avenger and the accidental murderer.

Who is the ONLY Gentile listed in the "Hall of faith" chapter in Hebrews?

So, we're talking about Hebrews Ch11.
My first thought was it must be someone before Abraham, since they were not Hebrew, but there was more than one. So the answer is Rahab the prostitute in Jericho - who btw is in the family line to Christ.
But I would also say Abel, Enoch and Noah are all Gentile - they are not children of Jacob/Israel and not under the covenants.
Good question.

Hello rodders2828,

I’m thinking.........
break 153 down as a secret code regarding salvation ....

100 = 100 fold - a full measure

50 = jubilee - everyone returns to their rightful owner and all debts are cancelled; and

3= God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

They say scripture in the KJV was altered in 1 John 5:7,8 by trinitarians. Many other translations look quite different:

RV: 1 John 5:7,8 "And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three who bear witness, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and the three agree in one."

ESV: 1 John 5:7,8 "For there are three that testify: the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree."

Lafftur's back, let's do some trivia.

without looking it up, caesaria ??

on the 153, i really don't know. I did a little digging and it seems for centuries there have been all sorts of theories. I read one that said pretty much that and so put it that therefore it is likely just not significant. I can't really agree with that. I think it must have some significance, but we just don't know what.
I certainly know that numbers in the bible do have significance. I don't think they all do, but many. Some obvious ones being 5 (grace), 6 (man), 7 (perfection), 8 (renewal), 40 (generation / trial). But 153, drawing a blank.
I do find it interesting that 1+2+3+..+17= 153, and that 3x3x17 = 153.
Happy to go on not knowing. :)
