CS already laid it out but since it does not suit you to acknowledge that, you continue you on

it's your burr under your ill fitting saddle so just continue to buck

I lean biblical. you can call it whatever you want to make yourself feel superior though
I have yet to see CS1 confront these people personally. If he did, then I will appologize, because I am not so insecure in myself I can not admit I am wrong. As MST people here know.. All i have seen is him make a stement, then put red x’s on people who stand against these gospels.

As for you, we see you will not go to the guy and show him how he is wrong, and how he gives you a bad name, You would rather attack me (once again, Is laughable and people see it whether you think they do or not)

We see where your loyalties are. Your vendetta against me is laughable. So once again, I suggest you put me on ignore. All you do is make yourself look bad.

I already did dude and even apologized to you when I saw there were people here saying baptism is a part of salvation

you are not being attacked you little wimp LOL! just nonsense.

my loyalties are to God and my husband

both make a heap more sense then you do :giggle:

you have a sense of self that seems damaged to constantly blow up at people and say you are being attacked

you dish it out but you cannot take it. our salvation does not depend on your good graces

you need to chill

go find where I already and many many times over, have stated to people who say baptism is part of salvation, that I disagree

really. I don't need an apology either when you find those posts but quit whining at me

oh yeah

Your vendetta against me is laughable
I doubt anyone here has a vendetta against you

no one cares that much

such a drama queen you are

and you are doing exactly what I said you do because I have the nerve...the nerve I tell you...to point out that you just cannot take anyone disagreeing with you and have to cause a scene, threaten them and try to get someone to ban them

engaging you in any way that does not agree with all you say is like sitting on a rattle snake

CS1, post: 3940718, member: 126684"]I think it would be important for those who have posted in this thread to understand whether you agree or not.

Speaking in tongues does not make you born again, saved, or required for salvation. Those who spoke in tounges in the word of God were saved first.

Born-again is in context with what Jesus was saying to Nicodemus in the Gospel of John Chapter 3. Jesus said to Nicodemus " you must be born again". Born of the Spirit Jesus said. that is in context to the experience which would happen once one placed their faith in the Resurrected Lord. As Jesus said in John and Paul said in Roman 10:9-10.

Baptism in water does not save you. We are saved by Grace through Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
Baptism in water is what a saved person does as the first act of obedience of one following Jesus

Baptism in the Holy Spirit as mention in the Gospel of John chapter one is for empowerment to be a witness as Jesus said this would be for. Acts 1:8.
Tongues and speaking in tongues must be kept in context to how it was seen where it was said they spoke in Tougnes. Acts 2

the Gift of Tongues is in context to 1cor 12 to 14 chapters. What you think about is not my concern That is between you and the Lord.

However, baptism in water, the baptism in the Holy Spirit, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit are all contextually different.

if you are teaching you have to speak in tongues or be baptized to be saved YOU are wrong.

so there is the post by CS who clarified what he believes but it does not suit those who have a personal grudge against him

most people here acknowledge this is what they believe

nothing more needs to be said or defended

I'm just going to post the one quote from myself where I show I disagree with the baptism salvation plan; but I have been consistent with my stand on it

in response to wansvic
="7seasrekeyed, post: 3934615, member: 260610"]how about adding to His word as you are doing with your obsession concerning baptism?

I am saved, baptized and speak in tongues and manifest certain gifts of the Spirit

am I no longer saved because I do not agree with you on your baptism interpretation?

according to you, probably not

what a ridiculous belief you have going on

you do not have 'dibs' on God. you state 'God is God'...what does that even mean?

it's the same like saying you are you. the double affirmative does nothing to add to truth nor does it impact the statement

I have to laugh.

I guess some think they have proven something.

As I said before, I am done playing childish games,

Its always the same two people.. But whatever.

I guess we should understand it is NOT ok for us confront a person who teaches that the way to heaven is this way, If you do, you will get a “red x” a “ZZZ” or some other comment, And if you ask why you get the comment, You have three pages of the same old stuff over and over which has been goin gon here for over a year now.

Just got to laugh and move on.

Oh and just for the record.

1. I never accused seven of not confronting the people. Or said she did not. I was asking if she responded to that particular post. And still have not seen an answer.

2. I said I have never seen CS1 directly respond to a particular post or person directly, and she posts an open post CS1 made, that we do not even know if said person actually read his post because it was not directly written to him.

But I am the one who has issues :LOL::LOL::LOL:

I can see it was a mistake to take her off ignore. So back she goes. It is just not worth it anymore, and I thank my brother for reminding me of this fact.

As it was in the beginning ...
Just as the first church of the first century was Pentecostal with signs following and the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit
so again it is today in these last of last days - again as we rapidly approach the end of this world Jesus has revived his
Pentecostal church the same as he did in the beginning with signs following and the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit.

All over the world in these last days the race is on between Satan and Jesus. And while Satan is destroying mainstream
Christianity through liberalism and tolerance of heresies; Jesus is expanding his church through signs and miracles.
Pentecostal Holy Spirit revival is happening worldwide.
Expanding his church through experiencing signs and miracles as wonderment?.

When he comes wil he find faith as it is written?

As it was in what beginning? Acts 2:38 The Revival Fellowship And the bride of Christ was dead before that? Its wonderment that caused the fall. No law against wondering. Its the source as a source of faith that we are to concern ourselves with.

The beginning you are you referencing to below is the beginning of experiencing something that leaves you lost for words that have meaning. But do supply wonderment. If that is the case I would be careful on how you hear.

It sounds like "will worship" as seeing things not there. Jesus proved that to be a false witness as a source of faith. Three times in Mathew 4 he described the law of the gospel .As it is written. Not after we experience wonderments. , false witnesses , described in Colossian 2 jesus did the wil of the father. The faith put these words on His tongue: ."It is written" . three times struck him out.

I spoke in tongues on the day I received the indwelling Holy Spirit.
23 years later and I still pray in tongues daily and often.
You say you spoke in the beginnig ? What was the message from God ?( Private ?) The same message today? Three times or more? ?

So another raging debate about tongues.

My experience is that when I was saved, I had the full Holy Spirit within me. That is Scriptural. We are not saved without the Holy Spirit within us.

I was filled with joy when God saved me. I started reading my Bible daily, praying, and my life was centred around Jesus.

My husband and I moved to Vancouver, and I met a guy in a laundromat who invited me to his church. It was charismatic. I heard strange things, and eventually learned it was speaking in tongues.

I was told constantly I need a second blessing, and to speak in tongues, which everyone did. Everyone told me it would make me closer to Jesus.

So, because if all the pressure, I started faking tongues. I didn't know I was faking, I thought it was real at that time. I didn't feel any different because I was already close to God! But it was pressure and nothing else.

We stayed in Pentecostal/charismatic churches for 15 years. The more I read the Bible, the shallower the preaching and doctrine seemed. It was always about Acts 2 and the other 4 or 5 places about speaking in tongues. I never heard about so many doctrines. Never heard the Bible systematically preached.

Then, some things happened which made me realize no one was really growing in Christ. We moved to an Evangelical Free church. I heard the Bible I was reading being preached. I was introduced to new ideas, doctrine and I realized what a lie the whole Charismatic Movement was. I realized how I had been led astray from the deep things of the Word and of God.

I am so blessed that God pulled me out of that cult. Because any group that says it has the only truth to be saved is a cult. I realize not every Pentecostal believes this, but it is the practice even. The AOG believes that people who don't speak in tongues. are second class Christians. That is the dogma followed in these churches. And pressure to get people to speak in tongues, like they are missing something, when in fact it is the charismatic/Pentecostal movement that is missing out on the whole truth of God.

I'm not a total cessationist. I know of a man who spoke 4 words in another tongue, which turned out to be Armenian, and there was s man in the meeting who was Armenian, and he wrote the words down, and the translation into English - "Jesus Christ is Lord." I think that if someone speaks on another teal language, or someone hears it in another real language AND they hearer gets saved, that is real! (And please don't start harassing me about private prayer, been there, done that for 15 years, and it simply is not real.)

Historically tongues passed away, I believe, even before the NT was complete. For what purpose were they resurrected in 1905? I think it was just another fad/peer pressure.

So, no need to explain what I am missing, or what happened in Acts and in the early church. Tongues are not normal today, and people would do well to walk away from "experiences" and get to know God for who he is, and not for the fun times babbling! God has given us a huge Bible. Read through it. Read in context and I guarantee you will find something very different that what is happening in all these tongue speaking churches!
God bless you sis....

beautiful and useful post

you have posted this story numerous times and the thread is not raging any more than any other thread where people disagree

how do we get to know God? there are many ways and the entire Bible is full of experiences people had while getting to know God or coming to believe in Him

how about Paul when he was still Saul? he sure had quite an experience when Jesus introduced Himself

how about any one of the disciples that Jesus picked by hand and how we see their personalities and the way they came to know Jesus both as a teacher and then as their risen Savior

how about when Peter stood up after the Holy Spirit had fallen and over 3000 came to salvation....the Bible states those people were 'pricked to the heart' when the Holy Spirit gave Peter the words and the power to be a witness

and literally hundreds of examples

when someone has a bad experience, they have to deal with it

God knows I have had to deal with a few myself

however, that does not change either the reality or the truth of the Bible in either testament

I would say sorry you suffered all that but I already have at least 6 times

I am not saying we do not have an experience when we come to Christ. I know I certainly did. God spoke to me in no uncertain terms, telling me he was the Saviour of the world, to follow him, and to repent of my evil ways, including drinking.

The problem, (if this becomes our spiritual walk - speaking in tongues),is 5, 10 or 15 years later, all we have are a few experiences, and we have not matured into the image of Christ. That happens by really digging deep in the Word, and allowing the Holy Spirit to CHANGE and TRANSFORM us. That is the Scriptural progression from justification to sanctification.

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:1-2

Romans is the plan of salvation, from sinner through to worker for Christ. Not once is tongues mentioned. Instead, Paul emphasizes, like in other places, that we need to cooperate with the Holy Spirit, not by raving in unknown tongues, but rather by RENEWING OUR MINDS!

How do we renew our minds? By reading the Word, by studying the Word, and also by prayer, fellowship with our brothers and sisters, and certainly service to Christ. He is the King, there is no where in Scripture that suggests one chapter, or worse, one verse Acts 2:38 is the gospel. That is starting point, it is not the Christian walk.

I actually feel pity for people who are just stuck in this dead end where tongues are the be all and all. (I'm not saying this of every person who speaks in tongues, Gordon Fee certainly puts that myth to bed), but the majority of tongue speakers are just stuck, and it is so sad.

One thing that God did tell me, when he called me by name, was to read the Bible daily. I've always tried to keep to that - as well as studying the Bible, learning the original languages and hermeneutics. And the Holy Spirit is always there to lead and guide me. But he leads and guides me in the Word! Not in experiences.

There is nothing wrong with feeling joy in the Lord, or peace, or any other feeling. But, if these experiences become the end goal, then I believe Satan has won his battle. Anything that keeps you away from transforming your mind, and being transformed into the image of Christ, or till Christ is formed in you, is not from God.

"My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you," Gal. 4:19

"And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." 2 Cor. 3:18

We do not transform our minds by speaking in tongues, but rather, by studying, memorizing and reading the Word. The lie I am fighting has left people dead while shouting at the top of their lungs utter nonsense. God wants everyone to find their gifts, as per Romans 12:3-8. The fruits of the Spirit are given though the Holy Spirit, but not by standing around patting themselves on the back that all they need to do is speak in tongues. Instead, the Holy Spirit wants us serving God, and one another. The Holy Spirit wants us to be on mission with God, spreading the REAL gospel, the one in 1 Corinthians.

"Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve.6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8 and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born." 1 Cor. 15:1-8

If you believe that you need to be baptized in water to be saved, or speak in tongues to be saved, or even to experience the fullness of God, you have not been reading what Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles wrote above. The witness is to the cross and the resurrection, not to speaking in tongues on the day of Pentecost. That is a false gospel. Tongues were given as a sign that the Holy Spirit would accompany each believer from that day first. It was the promise fulfilled that Jesus would send the Paraclete, and the church would be born. Anything else is adding to the gospel.

Saul of tarsus thought he was on fire for God also.

Just because people are doing things, does not mean a thing.

what else can I do? You are so belligerent.

Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.
Matthew 5:11 -
Thank God that one of the most powerful gifts of the Holy Ghost given to the Spirit-filled church is faith.
And not only do we endure but we carry on the good work allotted to us and preach the full gospel of salvation to those sheep
who will hear the voice of Jesus when we share the scriptures and our testimonies.

Shame on you. You do not teach the truth and you endeavor to impeach those who do.

You cannot pray in tongues. Praying in tongues is a fabricated activity not found in the bible.

Jude 1:12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
