I have never really understood fasting. I thought that anything after the cross was purchased for us through the suffering of Jesus. Through the grace of God, whether it be healing, forgiveness etc. Some say they get closer to God, how much closer do you need to get if he lives within you. Getting back what the enemy has stolen has already been done through Jesus on the cross. His last words were "Finished" Some say the annointing in them increases. The annointing is the Holy Spirit, a person as such, how can he increase. The idea of fasting to "get something" from God whatever it may be was already done through Jesus not fasting. I don't mean to sound disrespectful to those who follow fasting I just feel that all things have been purchased through Jesus not your fasting.
There a lot of scriptures about fasting... I believe you have to experience it for yourself and Jesus is our man example we should follow everything he does in the bible.

Welcome ebs24.
I hope you find what you need in these forums.
I am new too, and am learning which forums I want to participate in.
As for a 30 day fast, that sounds very draining to your body. I am a retired nurse, and I know I wouldn't have managed to keep up physically if I fasted for 30 days. Perhaps it would be a good idea to talk to a physician about a 30 day fast.

Do you have a book, chapter and verse for this? I don't remember reading anything about breastfeeding mothers being required to fast.
There is a full sermon on YouTube of dr.myles about prayer and fasting & fasting efficiently. He will state in this video that the bible has versus that state this... if you watch the whole thing you’ll hear it further explain this. I won’t lie it’s an hour and 30 min long but extremely informational on this topic of fasting.

I enjoy learning about the body and mind. Have you read much about what is physically happening inside your body? Do you work or have to still go about doing chores? What you are undertaking is quite remarkable from a scientific standpoint. I’m sure there are some people who would be quite interested in your lab results if you had some done. The Creator engineered us so brilliantly. I believe that fasting is a way to connect more strongly with the Almighty, but it’s the how that perplexes me. I’m curious what hormones and chemicals are at play to make this possible. I’m curious if there is truly a DMT connection. Most people who go days without eating are doing so involuntarily, or reluctantly, so there is a lot of stress involved. This changes the hormones being released, and will alter outcome. Thank you for your continued updates. I hope you have someone with you to make sure you are safe. We wouldn’t want you getting in a car accident that will cause injury to yourself and others. I’m inspired to do my own fast, in search of some of these answers for myself. Be blessed and don’t lose focus. The point is connectivity to God not to see how long it takes to injure the body from deprivation. There is a difference between not allowing your cravings to control your actions and causing irreparable harm to your brain and organs from neglect. You want to hear Him...without seeing Him.
I have done a bit. Basically inside of me right now The level of toxicity in all the toxins and acid my body is releasing can surely kill me if I do not flush it out of my system with water. This will be ( TMI )
But I have a bowel movement everyday & it’s all pretty much liquid not all but 80%. I believe that why you need to pray so much beached people have died from doing this! Also I went to my doctor I’ll be going back next week! I don’t have any sickness or diseases that’s the only reason why my doc would allow me! Fasting for diabetics and people with low blood pressure they’ll most likely faint or die. I am still doing chores and studies also church on Sunday! I felt like working out yesterday after praise and worship wow it’s incredible I should be depleted by now but something is allowing me to continue with ease. The grace of God is unlike anything I’ve experienced! Nothing but blessing guys and thanks for asking questions and caring!! ❤️❤️

It is frightening how far the modern Church has wandered from the ways of Jesus and the early Church. We have come to see fasting as odd and unusual. I have never heard of anything more from a modern pulpit than perhaps mention of 3 days without food. I have only done this twice in my whole life. I appreciate you coming to CC and pointing out one of the parts of the NT that I was passing over. I want to encourage you, not condemn you like the worldly people did.

I know right ?? I don’t understand why it’s looked at badly by fellow christians when it is clearly all over the bible... let them do as they please I’ll continue to fast and continue praising god either way, so it doesn’t affect me but one thing is your not supposed to talk about fasting really but yeah I understand the reason for that... people won’t judge your or bring up science and doctors when this is all spiritual lol God is the only doctor that can truly heal you! Thank you for that message & thanks for not being like a lot of others. I know it’s a Christian “chat” but that doesn’t mean a true believer and true follower of Christ and I need to realize that this is still just another social media platform unfortunately! The video I posted of dr.myles is great I’d think you’d like that a lot very informative preacher and very real he’s not afraid to say the truth lol

We must work with the Lord to try and change this if it is so. A good reason to call for prayer and fasting on a corporate level.

Pretty good! I have a 3 day church convention starting tomorrow so I’m pretty excited about that :) Day 18 now I think 30 will be enough for me ... 1 thing I’ve been needing to read and worship more and more to still get that same feeling I had a bit earlier... I think he wants more from me so I need to get on that! One thing I broke up with my boyfriend, he isn’t a believer in anything so I think that was also holding me back I feel freedom from having to be around darkness all the time. I know it’s time to focus on myself and god but it’s still painful as I did this 2 days ago! I’ll get through anything with Jesus! Thanks for asking

Jesus can certainly take up the slack and fill every void in our hearts. It is so good to realize that He knows and understands all.

Isaiah
53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
53:2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, [there is] no beauty that we should desire him.
53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were [our] faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
53:5 But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Yes my grandmother was telling the same advice to start journaling! I will definitely do this the remaining days of my fast!

God literally parted the sea right before the very eyes of the Israelite in the book of exodus, even with that, the Israelite are capable of forgetting, and wandered in the desert for 40 years!

I don't want you to forget, because your hard work is precious, don't let it go down the drain

Thanks for that I’ll be reading the book of Isaiah tonight definitely needs those healing words! I just look to him when I feel a little discouraged or sad! Also the enemy has been tempting me a lot with food lately but I’ve been fighting it! It’s getting harder though everyday... I thought it would get easier but yes a lot more prayers and reading to do ! Thank you again for that scripture, really hit the spot!

I am reminding you again, that by announcing your fast and continuing to talk about it, you are losing your reward from God. It is supposed to be between you and God. Regarding this, consider the following:

"When you fast, do not be somber like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward. But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that your fasting will not be obvious to men, but only to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

This is the same advice that Jesus gives regarding doing good works, praying and giving. The idea is to not perform these works before others, because your only reward will only be the admiration of those whom you make it known to. But if they are done in secret between you and God, then your reward will be from God. It shows that you are doing them specifically to please God.

Just a friendly reminder. ;)

I am going to keep on praying for you. Please keep praying for me also. Fasting applies to a lot more things than just the temptation to eat. It is so easy to fall prey to so many different temptations that the adversary throws at us every day. Opportunities to compromise are everywhere. God bless you, dear sister. Godspeed.

I am being rewarded by God everyday of this fast! You can continue to post these things assuming your know my mindset and heart about my fast... god bless you sir and you do not have to part take in this topic or my post if you feel I’m being boastful or trying to show off, that is my last intent but the glory be to God. I have peace in my mind regarding what you continuously post. He knows it’s for him and that’s all that matter to me!I’m aloud to share my experiences and help other understand more about fasting while I fasting 😢 have you heard of the whole church fasting together/ corporal fasting😂 They do talk about what there doing & experiencing while fasting .... please do yourself a favour and don’t comment this again because it’s only bringing negativity to my fast and that’s the last thing I need from a Christian chat. Thank you
