The thief on the cross was being put to death for murder and thievery...He was identified with Barabbas which was in the same boat as the two thieves that were crucified with Jesus....No murderer hath eternal life dwelling in him.......the thief was not saved and or immersed when he went to the cross....this can be deduced from ALL ACCOUNTS in the gospels....not only is it adding to scripture to say he was immersed, it is also putting the OX BEFORE THE CART.......it is interesting to me how many will add to scriptute in order to peddle a false gospel or to support their false view!!
Every person I have encountered concerning baptism saves I have mentioned about the thief on the cross.

This is the go to for them

Matthew 3:5-6
5 Then Jerusalem, all Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him 6 and were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.

All were baptised including the the thief on the cross.
What about the other thief?
He wasn't promised to be with Jesus at the end of the day.
But by assumption he would have been baptised.

One was saved and one not.

Why the difference?

Hmmm I'm struggling with this one😎

If symbols have no meaning to a person, then they are not thinking of the symbols correctly.
I couldn't play the symbols correctly.
That's why I was not allowed to play them in the band I wanted to join.

G-d knows what is in our hearts at time of death.
If that point was the case many Christians would be lost for the last sin on their garment at death. G-d is most understanding.
Therefore he would be understanding if we were not baptised before dying?

Uh Huh...why not quote the proper ones;

Therefore he would be understanding if we were not baptised before dying?
Not hardly...(that is a spin)... because He says we must be baptized. Does He say we don't
have to repent? Not hardly.

John 3:3

Mark 16;16

I Peter 3;21

John 3:5

Gal 3;26-27

Mark 16;16

Acts 2: 38-40, 9; 14, 15, 18, 22:16, 8:12, 19:5

Your job is to explain why these are...NOT...applicable...?

Do you think the thief was water baptised?
Read my previous posts...He could have been and was a backslider....because He seemed familiar with who Christ is. Also He doesn't have to be if Christ declares special consideration.

Last comment about the use of the thief on the cross for a fictitious reason that baptism is not required.

Address the scripture posted...two times...now.

It is telling that NO ONE has responded to them. I know why they cannot be disposed with because they apply.

Wrong...you can't change the clear Bible teaching. It is required.
See Matt., Mark, Acts, John, I Peter, etc.
except for people who didn't get baptized but were saved kind of like that guy on the cross to whom Jesus said this day you will be with me in Paradise , and those old testament guys like Abraham who were saved by faith, and the rest of us who were saved by faith. Works are a result of faith, not the producer thereof.

Neither were saved and or immersed.....the one was converted at that moment by faith and the other was not.......Even in death JESUS SAVES.....

In your book...of which no one knows. (did you mean credence?)

You are a leftist...I see....typical of those , when they have no defense of position they attack.
You are disagreeing with G-d's word....not me.
Nice try....No....I am disagreeing with the ignorance of thinking that leaving the O out of GOD makes you more righteous or holy and or even PROTECTS THE SANCTITY of GOD's name...........wake up pal....religious hoop jumping and believing we must keave letters off of the generic named of GOD does nothing......

There were many who were saved during the ministry of Christ on earth, and there is no indication whether they were baptized or not. But they were definitely saved by grace. None of the OT saints were baptized but all were saved by grace through faith.

ANYONE WHO TEACHES THAT BAPTISM IS NECESSARY FOR SALVATION IS A FALSE TEACHER. BEWARE OF WOLVES IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING.

The early elders created the creeds to define what a Christian must believe. Anything not in it is to agree to disagree. Nothing is in it about baptism. On the other hand the great commission says to baptize people in the name of the father, son and holy ghost. A distinctive in several denominations is they believe it is essential for salvation. In this we must agree to disagree.

It sounds like preston is preaching loss of salvation for any one sin after you are saved.

Please show scripture that says the thief on the cross was baptized. Do you believe that the thief on the cross may have already been converted, was water baptized, and the fruit of that is being crucified as a thief? - (highly unlikely)

In Matthew 27:39-43, we see that those who passed by, along with the chief priests scribes and elders blasphemed, mocked and shook their heads at Jesus and *EVEN THE ROBBERS WHO WERE CRUCIFIED WITH HIM REVILED HIM WITH THE SAME THING.* More fruit? I certainly don't see being crucified as a thief, blaspheming, mocking and shaking your head at Jesus as being the fruit of repentance/faith. Yet, moments later, we see that the thief had a "change of mind" (repentance) placed his faith in Christ for salvation and was saved (Luke 23:40-43). Of course, he died before having the opportunity to be water baptized.

Can you show us just one verse in the Bible that says, "whoever is not water baptized will not be saved?" *Of course you can't because there is no such verse in the Bible. Yet when it comes to repentance, in Luke 13:3, Jesus said - ..unless you repent you will all likewise perish. In John 3:18, Jesus said - ..he who does not believe is condemned already.

*John 3:18 - He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who (is not water baptized? - NO) does not believe is condemned already, because he has not (been water baptized? - NO) because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
