Have people forgot?

This thread is not about tongues, It is about the false gospel that salvation is dependent on water baptism and speaking in tongues.

]I would like to add that the Bible is not meant as a weapon to shut people up the way it is being used here

shooting verses of scripture taken out of context proves nothing but a person's desire to display the opposite of love
Arrows of the evil one? or arrows of the mighty one.? Psalm 127:4-5

The father of lies loves to confuse "kinds" . Which teaching master or how do we hear in order to beleive God, not seen after. Shadows (ceremonial) substance faith that comes from hearing God .the substance maker. and vice versa . The signature of the counterfeiter (venom of Asps

You relied, shooting verses of scripture taken out of context proves something. Do you mean like the ones in Mark16 parable that follows after the new substance (faith believing God ) . ..you could say as an example like the sign that reads. . . . ."You have just left the Chicago city limits thank you for coming, no coming again as born again .One experience was plenty to view all the sight seeing signs . .

Removing the metaphors and transforming them into things that edify flesh defines. . . Transubstantiation, a Catholic doctrine .Metaphors are shadows of what is hoped not the substance of what is hoped for.

As always it seems he leaves in advance a safeguard (deadly) He has left one metaphor to prove the spiritual understanding of the language Mark 16 is signified (using that seen to represent the unseen eternal .. . . . . . of the poison of lying spirits, the Serpent's (false doctrine) .

The whole congregation testing to see if it was literal or metaphorical interpretation in Georgetown. The death of a cult are still in the grave. And also all of the metaphors in Mark 16 are together as one represent and point to one un seen substance called faith.

Its not today I will seek after confirming fulfiling of making a noise. And tomorrow I will walk into hospital and heal by the human divine/ touch .

I would ask in regard to Mark 16. Are they metaphors used in a parable or not?[/QUOTE]

I would like to add that the Bible is not meant as a weapon to shut people up the way it is being used here

shooting verses of scripture taken out of context proves nothing but a person's desire to display the opposite of love

it is interesting to me to see the vitriol and the false accusations and then the denial from the same people, that they
are doing that

I think most of us who are speaking in tongues and or exhibiting other gifts of the Holy Spirit have a desire that others
should experience this endowment of God upon those who are His. of course there is also anger at times, we are still
flesh after all

however, I am also beginning to see the opposition almost has a life of it's own

so, to those who are filled I say 'keep on with what God has entrusted you with and do pray for understanding and discernment'
The entrance of light causes the darkness to flee.

Joh 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Ps 119:169 TAU. Let my cry come near before thee, O LORD: give me understanding according to thy word.

Who is “we”? There are those on this thread who have made it clear it’s the blood atonement that they trust in for salvation, yet there are still some who have made it clear that they trust in the blood atonement + “something else” for salvation — namely, water baptism (and in some cases must be done using the formula of “in Jesus name only” and speaking in tongues. We must not compromise the gospel for the sake of unity elsewhere.
Not sure about the word “must” Dan. But, I don’t read every post on threads. Just don’t have the time.

I believe that salvation includes all those things you put in your post as truth. But, we have to accept all believers as one Spirit, one body; one in Jesus Christ, Lord of all. Not all see baptism in water the same way.

I think you know that I disagree with the word must. That makes doctrine law.

But, Jesus has set the pattern for us by His own life. He began with water baptism, received Holy Spirit after coming up from the waters of death, and being full of God, all the power of Father within Himself, began His ministry.

He desires we walk the same.

The baptism of Holy Spirit which is the Spirit of the greater One, Father, is what we all need. For if Jesus depended on Holy Spirit to move through Him, then we do even more. He only did and said what He saw and heard. How? This is what we are discussing.

I am Just learning what the word Memra is. And how it is used .Can't be to careful . One word not defined according to the interpretation of the scriptures can cause confusion. Many groups looking for new recruits.

Memra. . . "God Breathed"

Memra . . . Not unknow by scripture alone as some secret understanding. If that is what you mean .

Prophets of God receive the hearing of faith as the faith of Christ works in them to both to will and do His good pleasure . If any man has not the "Spirit of Christ" then neither do they belong to him.

Memra used by some groups ...If you are saying we can add its understanding to the word of God. That destroys the standard .".all thing written in the law and the prophets" (sola scriptura) The Bible is still the last chapter of the book of prophecy. the Bible..

Its how we can try the spirts to see if they are of men or of God our father.

Understanding God has nothing to do with the flesh not gentile flesh or Hebrew flesh.

Again how the prophets receive it that it could be recorded as you mentioned is. . . . as it is written .It represent the faith of Christ that works in our earthen bodies of death not seen. Its that it that makes the devil flee Strike three in Mathew 4 .

2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
Memra or Imrah is actually the Hebrew for the expression in some verses that says and the “Word of the Lord”. The manifested preincarnate Son of God.

He manifested in some way.

How prophets wrote the scriptures is by what they heard in their spirit, or by the action of God where He says open your mouth and I will fill it. My paraphrase.

Prophecy to a fellowship or individual is in the same manner, open your mouth, He fills. I will hear a few words, then begin to speak.

The gift of wisdom and knowledge may work the same way. I’ve never really asked anyone how these things start in others, but haven’t heard anything different.

Then those laid hands on in acts to recieve the anointing after salvation were done in vain.
In One instance they were laid hands on and they got the baptism in the Holy Spirit before salvation

Also in the 10 virgin parable the measure of the Holy Spirit is separate from salvation (their virginity).
The foolish were saved (virgins) but foolishly neglected the need for EXTRA OIL.
The ONLY thing making the wise wise was EXTRA OIL.
That was the ONLY difference.
(Which vividly, vividly, addresses the salvation vs Baptism in the Holy Spirit dynamic.)
It is undeniable. They are two COMPLETELY separate arenas of our walk.
We see it also with Jesus . His anointing had nothing to do with salvation.
That also is a vivid example.
The Holy Spirit and the father and son are inseparable.
They are one.
And yet They chose a walk outside of any need for salvation with Jesus incarnation.
So Jesus had a MEASURE of the Spirit before he was baptised in the Holy Spirit.
Salvation is indirectly connected to the Anointing.
Salvation brings a measure of the anointing, then, the baptism in the Holy Spirit a greater measure.
There is a third anointing which is given to us through obedience.

(That is why some recieve the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, and speak in tongues, but by neglecting obedience are poor representations of the kingdom)
It's all there and is connected, but not through cherry picking with a doctrinal prism.
I do not see anywhere in the Book of Acts where those who received the Holy Spirit empowerment were not saved first.

they were all saved first not all had hands laid on them either Peter stated that in Acts when he said in Acts 10: 44
Paul hand hands laid on him by a disciple, not an apostle But all were saved before

That only occurs once to my recollection - and it is never repeated again in Acts or taught in the epistles.
From Acts 2:4 - the description of believing the gospel unto salvation is Acts 2:38 and this is what now happens to
everybody in the first and only church of the NT.
It occurs in Acts when believers who hadn’t heard of the baptism are told and they receive Waggles. First the new birth with faith in Jesus, then empowered.

Thanks. It seem to represent "the word was God", as the "I Am" in respect to the father and the Son or both a point emphasized over and over through the bible . The unbelieving Jews made the father in heaven not seen without effect. They like the first king were looking for a son of their own design politically correct... Saul the necromancer . They would in affect say to Jesus acting in the place of the father in heaven whose will Christ did obey. Do us a trick show us a miracle so that we can see and them and then believe.

They express no need of our Holy Father not seen Just as the Catholics. Just stand in the place of abomination the unseen place of the glory of God.

2 John 1:9Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

Still not sure why that word is used Memra or Imrah. Seems there was more to come out of it? Does it replace something .Does it speak of another kind of manissfitation . . like private revelation ?

Not I - Jesus is stating what it is - the scriptures are His words, not mine.

What do you say jesus is saying. What does he say the sigh confirms as it is written in 1 Corinthians 14:21-22

Will you fil in the colors? I can start out. orange as to what the sign points to.

In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord. Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.1 corothians14:21-22

To seek after a sign or not.. . that is the question You can do it just believe prophecy the tongue of God. .

Why am I not surprised !!
@mailmandan dislikes the very words spoken by Jesus.
False accusation. He dislikes your abuse and misuse of Gods word.

Every person will be accountable to God for every word they speak. God values His word and has declared it will stand forever in perfect righteousness.

NO that is a false accusation
mailmandan quoted the scriptures I posted and challenged these as to being the gospel.
Jesus spoke quite succinctly about preaching the gospel to all and the gospel to be believed would have these signs following
to give credence and power to the one and only gospel.

that is what you and other unbelievers have a problem with - scripture

You have added works to the gospel. The gospel as defined in the scripture is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. You add signs and tongues to the gospel corrupting the gospel of the bible.

You rely on one passage of scripture and use it to create a false doctrine. The gospel does not include tongues. You replace the true gospel with a tongues gospel that is not the gospel.

Pentecost is not the gospel. The long ending of Mark is not a stand alone representation of the words of Christ.
