Here is the article I wrote, which was chosen for the day of Saturday August 16.
With the Morning reading being Romans 16 and Evening Reading being Psalm 97, 98, 99. (I didn't choose the daily readings)
The Article Titled "Be an Encourage."
With the verse from Ecclesiastes 12:9a & 10
"And moreover, because the preacher was wise, ... The preacher soughts to find out acceptable words: ... even words of truth.
See most things in life are vain. There are many things that
occupy one's life that are vain, and although people get wrapped up in their vanity, the preacher, knowing this, gives words of wisdom, words of comfort and counsel.
A preacher has a duty and responsibility to feed the flock of God, even though, many have gone astray. The preacher genuinely cares about people and will sacrifice his own will to do God's will. Sometimes a preacher doesn't have the answer people want, which is why he has to seek out and find acceptable words, seeking to wisely lead God's people. It's a daunting task to be constantly studying, but a preacher is to speak God's truth at all time, to have an answer for just about every contingency on earth, every problem and situation, and not only that, but also be an encourager, a counselor or a therapist.
What have you done for your preacher lately? have you encouraged him? Or told him how much you appreciate everything he has done for you? Have you applied what he has taught you to your life? Has your preacher made a differnece in your life?
One thing I have learned, in the ten or so years of being a born-again Christian is every Christian should strive to be an encourager of the brethern. A word from you could be of great blessing to someone going through a difficult trial in their life.
Be an encourager! - M.I.
