yep. the lawyers and workers and judeaizers can spin and twist all they want, but they cannot make this not be true.
Oh you should see the circus clowns and salvation losers in the other thread about losing salvation.....I have never seen such a butchery of the word of God as they are doing.....

Hello DJ3 - welcome.

"...no blessings" does not mean lose of salvation. And if we need "compliance" then salvation is not a gift and is something to be maintained.

Salvation once bestowed will not be retracted or lost. That is the essence of this thread - everything else ( ie. good works) comes after salvation.
I am not speaking of "good works", I am speaking of simple compliance with God's directions. Complying with God's directions is in no way an act of merit. Peter was not performing an act of merit by casting the net but without his casting the blessings of fish would not have appeared. Correct.

I love this passage

15 "Woman," he said, "why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?" Thinking he was the gardener, she said, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him."
16 Jesus said to her, "Mary." She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, "Rabboni!" (which means Teacher).
John 20

Those who know this love will know His word, because His love dwells in their hearts.

Very few people would suggest that our righteous works grants us salvation. The grace of God is freely offered to those who truly profess Jesus as Lord, the key words being "truly profess". But as with any offer, it must be properly accepted. There is no blessings from God void of our compliance. We may debate what is needed to be complied with but not the need for our compliance. To suggest otherwise is to go against the very flow and form of the entire Bible.

From Adam and Eve losing the Garden of Eden by not complying to the Churches in Revelation being directed to repent, the blessings of God come with instructions that must be complied with.

Faith minus compliance equals no blessings.
So you teach works.

I guess grace is out of the question?

If it is of grace it is no longer of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace..

Works are not required. They are a natural byproduct.. Why is this so hard for people to fathom?

Work is something done to earn a wage or a reward.

A gift is somethign freely gien which is not earned.

If your working to earn or maintain salvation, your trying to earn a gift.. Those works will be rejected.

Some will simply lie about what you are saying in the post commenting on your own as if this
makes any sense at all.

The truth is they will say "no matter how you behave after coming to faith does not affect salvation."
And because this denies the validity of the conviction of salvation, they will not admit this is true.

It is because anything that measures faith to them is evil and a denial of faith alone.
So in this logic for Paul to say we should test our faith, it is sinful unbelief.

5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you--unless, of course, you fail the test?
6 And I trust that you will discover that we have not failed the test.
2 Cor 13

For Paul to write this, he accepted some could think they know Jesus and do not.
Praise the Lord, in our walk we need to stay aware of His grace and love and to walk
carefully in the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Is it in your mind your sharing is trying to hurt others like whack-a-mole?

Is this what you think christian sharing is and how you build up the brethren?

If so I would hate to be in the same house group as you, and it would soon empty.

Actually we preach true humility.... i.e. we have nothing to contribute to our own salvation

Well Mr FHS... I guess humor is not your style..... see someone posted that about me I would not be offended.

No one builds up the brethern through legalism, it is actually the exact opposite, I am trying to spare people grief and pain.

Are you sure you know what you are saying?
When I share the Lord is worthy to be praised, I am sharing legalism?

If I share obeying Jesus is such a blessing, I am sharing legalism?

At what point does your analogy work, other than in your own mind.

I would suggest you have taken on board a behaviour pattern and ideas that
are not from Jesus, and you now just share it as if it is something of value.

And no this is not funny in any stretch of the imagination or even true.
It is both dishonouring to a christian forum and to those you label legalist.

How would you like to meet someone for the first time and then call them evil
and legalists if they share something they care about? It is simply terrible behaviour
and worse has become just a flippant remark like it is nothing. This is extremely sad
and corrupting.

It is the doctrine that is legalism ... and whack-a-mole is in reference to the ideas and concepts that are unbiblical, and I will not be addressing you further and I do not know why I even started, since you obviously read everything from a personal lens.

Not of God is all I can say.....been a heavy influx of Jesus deniers, salvation losers, workers for and those that devalue Jesus, his work, his power, his word, his blood and everything the bible points to.......rather sickening and tragic.....no wonder Jesus said the number is PLENTEOUS that comes before his throne only to be cast into the lake of fire.....
Hi D...
I am starting to see it for myself now , I must be growing in our LORD...
I was reading today how some are given the gift of discerning , I do not think I have that gift , but I do know @UnderGrace does , she spotted Nats words very early on...

I am so thankful to God for throwing me in the deep end here , into what was at the time a battlefield in this thread , it spun me round and upside down , but I got through :giggle:...

Love to you all...xox...

A few years back I became very disillusioned with what I would call "churchianity" all the excesses and so much contradiction in doctrine.

I always thought I had a solid foundation but I did somewhat inadvertently begin speaking with a group of street preachers because they were so against 'churchianity" they had some good things to say...but they definitely followed this teaching.

https://www.evangelicaloutreach.org/

What a time I had, do you know during bible study as a woman I had to stay absolutely silent and by mistake I said something and I was hushed and told to be silent, because of one line in scripture taken out of context.

I could tell you so many stories, somehow I thought I could persuade them about eternal security and what it truly means to be born again (ever hopeful UG LOL) not this stop sinning and you are saved false dogma.

To them, it is carry you cross and if you look back, that is idolatry, well you just better not let that happen, because if you do you will loose your salvation.

So wow after that experience I did spend considerable time in study to really understand the scripture that supports and appears to contradict eternal security and what repentance really means.... so beneficial.

So experience has definitely helped my discernment, but it was a very unpleasant experience to fall into that crowd so I guess that is why I am so strong in my beliefs because it is harmful to the person ultimately and an affront to God.

There is no peace and certainly no grace, but definitely legalism but they call it "works of righteousness." It is mind programming completely of this I am sure.

To deny Jesus will disown such a person is a dangerous distortion of the Christian image. Do you remember the important acid test question regarding King David (and Peter)?

Commit them to memory and use them often to smoke out opponents of the true gospel message and grace of God.

Be assured that you do NOT have to practice sin to lose your salvation. It can happen with certain transgressions by just one sin, according to Scripture. The acid test question from this bible test is most revealing in our day of spiritual deception!

I have started writing words down to do a little study on them , your other post reminded me to do this as it is important...
Nat from the other thread said she once believed in osas , but found no joy , so she jumped over the fence to say you can lose your eternal security , that me sad for her because I was once on the side she has hopped over to and I found fear , worry beyond measure , and also had no idea who the Hebrews were let alone the Jews lol , I had no understanding of who the Apostles were talking to and that is really important when reading the Bible...

How can anyone believe they can lose their Salvation , they must be up and down like a yoyo...Mind you saying that , I was like that...
All we can do is pray that they come to the true Salvation that Jesus gave us , being on the other side of the fence is nearly as close as being lost , we must pray...xox...

Agree, it makes no sense that believing OSAS caused her to be a greater sinner, so I would take that with a huge grain of salt and I mean huge even this is not big enough, seemed like an attempt to slander the assurance of the believer.

Also I agree, when I really started to take into account audience relevance, to whom those words written and how would they receive them within their culture and understanding, made a huge difference in my ability to understand scripture.

Also helped me to know when scripture is referring to salvation and when it is referring to discipleship.....just because the word "saved" is there it does not mean it is always about being born again, the context will inform us. :D

I feel sad for Nat as well, it will take a miracle for the blinders to be removed.
Agree prayer so important.:)
