Thats just it

A believer is a new creation in christ jesus

He stopped being a dog. So he would not return to his vomit.

A dog PLAYING christian however (not a true believer) will RETURN to their own vomit. Because it is what they ARE
Have you ever sinned again?

Have you ever sinned again?
Every day I learn about Christ, The more I realise what a sinner I am.

Do you? If not. Something is wrong.

Remember, Danial fell to his face. As did John.. They understood how sinful they were. What will you do when you meet Jesus?

If the new creature cant go back to the old creature. Then that's sinless perfection. Yet I am accused of being a legalist.
We have two natures so to speak, the flesh is still with us, it is learning to live in the new nature that gives us a victory over sin.

Going back to your vomit is not going back to your lifestyle man.

Why are you being so dismissive,,

It says "No" to ungodliness and expects us to live a holy lifestyle.
I agree, it does not mean it always happens perfectly, because we have to learn to walk in the Spirit, and we still have the flesh, Satan and the world to deal with on a daily basis.

Paul is speaking to the spiritual gifts here and is using hyperbole (an imaginary person) and analogy to teach that love is paramount.
But Paul is talking about the same faith that you are also talking about and he is saying, as much as you have faith, if it is not accompanied by love you are nothing. My point is, faith alone doesn't work.

Does not work for what exactly?

Wow I guess he didnt have any reason to die for you, because I have been dishonest over my life. That's why Jesus died to forgive me from the sins I committed:(
It shows

Your being dishonest here. I admitted I have made mistakes. Yet you act as if I think I am perfect.

Way to go man. Way to go..

Salvific faith is the faith through which we are saved.

Yes faith alone is useless if not accompanied by action such as love.

Romans 5:5 [blb] -

"And hope does not make us ashamed, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through [/by means of] the Holy Spirit, the One having been given to us."

[and]

"the fruit OF the Spirit [HIS fruit] is love..." - Gal5:22 (not something we muster up from within ourselves)

A was at the bus stop a few years ago and a women told me "God loves you", then she looked down on a man with missing fingers, who had a drinking problem and gave him evil eyes. Why not tell the drunk man that God Loves him. But no she looked down at him with disgust. Such fake love, only choosing who you will love.

Alot of you people are exacly like this women from OSAS. You look down on others with disgust and I read your comments:(
Hi Nat,

Some have mentioned being sick at reading certain statements of faith.
So this sentiment certainly has been shared in the past. And those who have shared this are
from the OSAS camp.

Part of their emotional language has been to create the disgust emotion when talking to people with
certain beliefs. I know many religious groups who use the disgust response in their followers to gain
and reinforce identity. Once you have created this emotion about an individual, it is much harder to
be sympathetic to their position or expressions, no matter how valid they might be.

I had not thought much about this before, but now it makes a lot more sense. Unfortunately I have
little respect for individuals who spread these ideas, especially against the Lords people. They are no
friends of the Lord.

Q. What do you understand by this phrase?

1 Cor 13:2........ and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
If someone has genuine saving faith in Christ and have received the Holy Spirit, it would be impossible for them to have NO love at all. Paul uses hyperbole (obvious and intentional exaggeration) about understanding ALL mysteries and ALL knowledge and having faith that can move mountains yet having NO love.

Paul is not exaggerating about the importance of love though. Faith works through love (Galatians 5:6), but we are saved through faith, not faith plus love. Love is the greater quality of the three because God is love and it outlasts them all. Long after faith and hope are no longer necessary, love will still be the governing principle that controls all that God and his redeemed people are and do. We won't need faith and hope in heaven.

So Paul is not teaching that even if our faith is genuine that our faith cannot save us without producing "enough" love. Paul is stressing the importance of love, not teaching that faith is insufficient to save us without our best efforts to love. All genuine BELIEVERS love Christ. Why? Because we have received the love of God in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us (Romans 5:5) when we believed the gospel (Ephesians 1:13). We love Him because He first loved us (1 John 4:19).

I read nowhere where he states the "faith" is useless... he states he is nothing without love... it is the addition of love that is important.
