Theres nothing wrong with Good works that God want us to do. Its not legalism or selfrighteosness. Its loving God.
I never said there was anything wrong with good works, but there is something wrong with salvation BY works, which stems from legalism and self righteousness. Perverting the gospel by teaching salvation through faith + works is not loving God. (Galatians 1:6-9)

You mean it refers to the future sacrifice of Christ. A shadow of "things to come".

They were using this verse to support OSAS gospel idea- Jesus blood covers and doesn't see our sins). I know this is a shadow of things to come. I understand it differently to OSAS believers. It doesn't refer to imputed righteousness.
I think I understand the point you are addressing.
In one theology, Christ blood covers us from our sinful state (unresolved and continuous), so God does not
see us, sometimes called imputed righteousness.

And I agree this is a miss-application of imputed righteousness to my mind. Abraham obeyed God, did things
God was pleased about, was a righteous man, yet it was his faith that made him righteous not his deeds.

In their mind Abraham was a sinner, fallen and due for judgement like anyone else, and he was never righteous.
In their way of thinking if anyone was righteous through deeds they do not need God.

The failure is being righteous without God is sin itself, as God is the source of all things, and its essence, so
rejecting Him is sinful and leads to sinful behaviour. Put simply the focus on self leads to self justification of
selfish acts which corrupts the soul and destroys everything one touches.

So everything in terms of righteousness, being true, pure, Holy, is founded on our relationship with God and His
dwelling with in us. It is like His very presence makes us Holy, not our deeds at all. I wonder if it is our language
and way we think and express ourselves as created beings, find it hard to grasp and express this reality.

Because in Adam and Eve we inherit being separate from the Lord, to gain communion is unique and only grows
as we experience it, so words describe what is, and we understand it because we know it in our lives, yet to those
separate, it is gibberish.

And showing unkindness toward others is not loving God;)

As a side note, those who oppose the basics of faith, are not going to grasp deeper realities
which the apostles allude to, because even they found it difficult to articulate.

But praise the Lord, I have learnt so much trying to explore these things and have literally
grown in my fellowship with God. Amen.

There are two different scriptures. Weird
The 4 gospels witness the same and similar events all the time. They are mostly different because of their underlying intent being

Matthew Behold THY KING
Mark BeholdMY SERVANT
Luke Behold THE MAN
John Behold YOUR GOD

Four aspects of Life of Christ, Four aspects of His Death

Sharing the truth (even if the truth hurts) is not showing unkindness. Attacking people who hold to OSAS and resorting to straw man arguments is not showing kindness and does not represent loving God.

Are there really many people who teach salvation is "only of works"? It is always referred to as a "gift of God".

Never said “only” by works. There are many though who teach salvation by faith + works.

Salvation is not by religious works or by works of the law.
Examples of religious works: circumcision, lawful foods, lawful practices, lawful prayers and other chants, singing, dancing, attending a church e.t.c.

But, loving one another is a command. Disobeying God's command is sin from day 1.

And there's no way to love one another other than doing good to fellow humans.

They were chosen like everyone else in the bible so that they become a learning to the church.

It isn't about the food being lawful, it is about the food being clean.

I include myself in all the "YOU"s

Yes. If you are one of Gods Elect, which we can't know until Satan is here, He has a job for you to do. That means you are to follow His advice and keep yourself healthy so you will be around for His services when He needs you. So yes, they do bring us to God.

God was very specific. Go see how much time He took to write it all down for us. He created foods for the flesh body to eat, keeping it holy. He created scavengers to clean the earth. Both are great to be received into our lives for the purpose they were created for.

Yes, I understand God could just heal us. What God would like is to not have to do it all Himself,

And here is the real question about the one Who created us and created the earth and created the animals.
Did the scavengers bodies change while Christ hung on that Cross? Did our flesh bodies change while Christ hung on that Cross?
If God told anyone He didn't want them doing it, that is good enough for me. I do not need to be singled out as someone special. I just go with He has all the power and the wisdom and the knowledge and leave it at that.

It means something to Him. That we can not dispute. How it is interpreted that we can. I tend to swing to the side of the "few".

Not faith + works. Faith with works.
Works of the Holy Spirit flow out from the soul that has been saved by grace. Works do not flow inward and effect salvation. The Holy Spirit must first be present in the heart for any works to be wrought of consequence.

Exactly!

Those works are as filthy rags.

Anything you eat, the body selects only the important components and discards the rest. None of the food components gets into your mind/heart.

Show me your faith without works
and I show you my faith with works.

True, He wrote those for men in the flesh bodies. I never said it was a sin against God. But no, your body does not just select the important stuff and discard the rest or else drugs and alcohol and sugar etc would never be absorbed. I am not judging. Just giving out information.
