James is saying something different from what you are saying. He clearly says a man is not justified by faith alone.

There are no works that could be considered as evidence of your assurance for salvation and if you are doing anything because you are assured of salvation then you need to stop.

And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. (Jas 2:23-24 KJV)

What is brilliant about this is that Abraham did not do a thing. He did not do any works at all. He simply showed a willingness to be obedient. His faith was heartfelt and his willingness to be obedient to God was heartfelt. For that, he was both saved and justified.

Abraham did so many things, the reason i'm torn between you and James:

James 2:20You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless d ? 21Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” e and he was called God’s friend. 24You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.

Heb 11:1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

What they were told and believed is faith (hope for things we do not see). Lifting their eyes in obedience is a work. Those that believed and did not follow instructions were later buried.

This view not only shows a lack of truth but also reeks of an incorrect judgment......dozens of people have been enlightened, changed their view and come on line with the truth, a plethora of different truths have been examined, and too be frank.....if you have nothing to add but judgmental ignorance....find a different thread....

There are six aspects of justification.
We are justified by grace (Rom_3:24). This simply means that we do not deserve to be justified; in fact, we deserve the very opposite.

We are justified by faith (Rom_5:1). Faith is the human response to God's grace. By faith, we accept the free gift. Faith is that which appropriates what God has done for us.

We are justified by blood (Rom_5:9). Here blood is the price which had to be paid in order to procure our justification. The debt of sin was met by the precious blood of Christ, and now God can justify ungodly sinners because a righteous satisfaction has been made.

We are justified by God (Rom_8:33). The truth here is that God is the Person who justifies.

We are justified by power (Rom_4:25). Our justification is linked to the power that raised Christ from the dead. His resurrection proves that God is satisfied.

And we are justified by works (Jas_2:24). Works are the outward proof of the reality of our faith.

God is the justifier, our works which Abraham did not do, are simply the outward sign of God's redeeming work in us.

Like i said, there was no one to explain the six aspects of justification to them that the letter was written to and it seems James wanted to be clear enough on his letter. So he really meant it when he said a man is justified by what he does and not faith alone.

See, it was just a lesson that you have to learn and correlate with Jesus' (real deal). They don't have to put every tiny details of it, the tiny details are with us today.

Then justify yourself. But believe you me, your works will follow you as you live out your daily Christian life, meaning you are already justified, O' ye of little faith.
