“FULL IMMERSION”
Sigh 😔
Romans chapter 6 when you were baptized you are buried with Christ what is the word buried mean.
Right now I have a hat on I'm not buried in my hat.
Typically buried means covered up with. Right now I am buried in paperwork. I am there by covered up in paperwork.
So if at baptism you are buried with Christ. It would only stand to reason that you are submerged or buried or covered up in the baptismal Waters.
Thusly buried with Christ in baptism.

having water poured over your head or sprinkled on your forehead is not a picture of burial at all.

Not that I'm a legalistic stickler about how these things must be done. I am however, big on the Bible says what it says.
If a cup of water is the best you've got then simulate burial as best as you can. Lay them out flat horizontal and pour the water over them. that's a burial thing. Often at burial loved ones and family members and friends will take a handful or shovel full of dirt and pour it over the top of the grave. Anyway God judges hearts not rituals. So do your best with your best conscience to present yourself in these events as introspectively and reflectively of Christ as possible.

No - it is merely compliance or obedience.
If we say that we believe in the gospel and believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Master then as disciples we need to submit
to our Lord's teachings and to his commandments ... one of which is most definitely water baptism by full immersion.
Faith in scripture and belief in scripture - sola scriptura - means to read and do the word of God > to act on it.
Even Jesus himself underwent water baptism to demonstrate to us all the absolute importance of this sacrament.
Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him. Matthew 3:13 (ESV)

15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father,
and I will love him and manifest myself to him.
John 14: (ESV)
If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.
John 15:10 (ESV)
47 “Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”
48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to remain for some days.
Acts 10: (ESV)
I’m not saying, that because h2o water baptism Is a work of the flesh to mean all works of the flesh Is bad but I’m saying that everything GOD does Is spiritual but man DOES use his body to do good works when he Is In the process of renewing his mind presenting his body a living sacrifice

nevertheless because of GODs mercies we DO get h2o baptized so then I’m not saying that man Is not being obedient and desiring to Identify with CHRIST by getting h2o baptized I’m saying that GOD IS a SPIRIT and doesn’t need to see your physical works but GOD saved us because we believed already before we got h2o baptized.

two baptisms are required to be a true worshipper ...
water baptism to put into action our repentance and acquiring a good conscience towards God
putting faith into action . death to the old person of sin > a new life with forgiveness under grace (remission of sins)
Holy Spirit baptism to have the power of God dwelling within to walk in the light, to overcome the flesh, to pray in a pure
spiritual God given languange (AKA praying in tongues) to grow and become more Christlike > the fruit of the Spirit.
Power and faith working together with signs following: miracles, healings, blessings galore. 💖
Did the thief on the cross get water baptized?

Don’t ATTEMPT to answer that because you will either use your mind to conjure up with colorful Imagination a scenario to fit and answer someone’s mind that puts reason ahead of faith and not biblical
Or you will just try to hide the truth from those that love the truth.

I know that sounds harsh and I don’t mean It to offend you but If you can answer that question biblically and not In error I would be In agreement.

Surely he did not mean any such thing! I don't know of pope beliefs! I do know that if a person is born again then their name is written in the book of life! I am baptized as in the day of Pentecost and it is a wonderful experience and for all God's children! The Holy Spirit is OUR comforter and promised of Jesus! However not all see this baptism and that's ok! Your walk belongs to you and is between you and the Father,I do not count you any less worthy of heaven than myself! Peace and love! 🌐🌐🌐
If you will go back and read all his post, it becomes very clear that he does believe exactly what I said.
If you will research the group he represents, you will see they also teach such heresy.
A close search of this group you will see some things about them that resembles cults.
He and his group are a poor representative of Pentecostal folks and all who believe in speaking in tongues.

Water for what kind of baptism? Baptized in a name as a living authority .

Baptized in the name as an unseen authority ? Certainly not H20 (spiritless) as that seen . It cannot produce the breath of life. His word is Spirit and is life... the quickening power or name of God working in our new souls.

Jesus said pouring water on his corrupted flesh profits for nothing. Water baptism is a completely different kind. . . founded in the Old testament carried on through a new manner after (Melchezedek ) through Christ from the tribe of Judah our High Priest continually without beginning or end. .Its what started the discussion in John 3:25

Do we forfeit the foundation of H20 baptism like you must with the tongues doctrine?

Makes me wonder what other foundations have lost their effect to preach the gospel?

Psalm 11:2-4 English Standard Version (ESV) for behold, the wicked bend the bow;they have fitted their arrow to the string to shoot in the dark at the upright in heart; if the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? "The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord's throne is in heaven; his eyes see, his eyelids test the children of man.

Sign and wonder seekers turn that upside down..... testing God taking away his understanding. .

His eyelids test the children of man. Not our His. Sign seekers test Him after the things seen as confirming self edification, self wonderment..In that way it would seem they make Jesus into a Circus Seal .

John 6:30 So they said to him, “Then what sign do you do, that we may see and believe you? What work do you perform?

( An unknown ? ? ?.... tongue as a unknown? ? ?...... unknown wonderment) The counterfeiter father of lies...

Simply no such thing as a "sign gift" (false doctrine) . Spiritual unseen gifts... yes.

John 4:48So Jesus said to him, “Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe.”

Like he told the Israelites that sought after signs in Egypt. .Slow down when he sees the blood used to represent the working of His unseen Spirit, just as the metaphor water. Not when they see it having done the work

Water and blood are metaphors used in various parables . They are even used shown both (blood and water) working simotaniiously to give us the understanding of . . One pouring out Spirit life in jeopardy of his own Spirit as if it was blood or as if it was water (H20) . . . . He test men we do not test Him.

I wish King James had translated the word rather than transliterated the word.

Baptism didn't change meanings. Again, 2 Timothy admonishes us not to wrangle about with words and meanings, so we must accept the common meaning of the word.
Hi thanks for the reply . I see that a little differently it has always had more than one meaning. One effective the other not..

I would offer and ask? ..Commonly used through out the scriptures defined by the scriptures or commonly agreed upon by one group?

It means "to wash" like husband baptize your wives with the water of the word as the doctrines of God's Love.

How do we know what it means? We use scripture. What was John the Baptist doing?
I would think preparing the way for the new manner of priesthood John the last after the old manner. Levites as a kingdom of priest. Jesus the new manner . . all the nations of the world. Woman can baptize a believer who has a desire to become a member of the priesthood in a hope of holding out the gospel in a Hope the Spirit of Christ will apply it creating a new heart. . . a desire to know the will and empowered to perform it as our imputed righteousness.

Hebrews 5:10 English Standard Version (ESV) And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him, being designated by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.

Warning Against Apostasy

Hebrews 5:11 English Standard Version (ESV) About this we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing.

What did John do when he baptized Jesus?
he told other a man can only receive that given form heaven he was aware of the promise in regard to melchedik .God has prepared him daily

What did Steven do when he baptized the Ethiopian?

I think you meant Phillip . Philip as a member of the priesthood of believers officiated the Ethiopian a desire to go out with the gospel and officiates other as a ceremonial law . It began with the Son of man who introduced the ew order and continues today . Go out into the world is the call to his apostles. Make disciples of men and woman from all nations.

What did the disciples do as they went forth baptizing in the name of Jesus?
Thanked God for giving them a humble position. What do you think?

In the scripture I posted from Romans chapter 6. He used the word buried which mean covered up. He was telling them what it was what it meant when he dunked them in the water and said in the name of the Lord Jesus. In American he was simply saying hey guys when I put you under the water and said in the name of the Lord Jesus, this is what it means, that you were buried with Christ and like Christ is resurrected you will also be. So start acting like it. Because the that old stuff is dead.
Water(H20) evaporates things die. . We need eternal the living water of the word it bring new spirit life.

Yes that old stuff "dead works" . . . being ceremonial in natural (non effective) They did not give new life but represented it as a shadow of eternal life (not seen) using the temporal seen to give us the faith to see past the horizon. (telescope up and around doctrine)
.Like Isaiah he sits enthroned on the circle of the earth and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers . The true lion king from the tribe of Judah the high Priest.

Hebrews 6 King James Version (KJV) Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, (not coming from God our first love) Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

What has the thief on the cross to do with the NT which began after Jesus was glorified and sat on the right hand of his Father.
New reformed restored government same will and testament..of the same one God.

The thief did the same as those on the other side of the cross confess with his mouth as the Spirit of Christ works in the thief to both will and do the good pleasure of God. Called believing the gospel

What does the sign confirm according to the law in 1 Corinthians 14.:22-23 those who hear prophecy (tongues) or those yet for all the prophecy they believe not... faith or no faith? which master today

Don't know ? Is it one of those unknow gifts of wonderment just believe as evidence of one fleshly mind. Jesus refused to give authority to a unknown mystical wonderment .The father puts his words in the mouth of the Son of man Jesus. . three times To indicate one source of faith as it is written the kind of media as a law not subject to change after the the expernces of natural converted mankind. by which any man can hear God as a witness to His spirt witness tho their new born again spirit .

Colossians 2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a "voluntary humility" and "worshipping of angels", intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

"Voluntary humility" . . . . not moved by the Holy Spirit as in asking a particular need or expressing actual praise . But rather from self induced sounds as in will worship (I will make a noise) to creates a unknown wonderment or delusion . . . .that comes along with a strong delusion needed to believe the lying source of non faith .

Colossians 2 :23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, (false) and neglecting of the body: not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
