I occasionally get on this sight to have fellowship with others, and to learn something. But at times the thread will turn in to a dispute, Especially regarding end time prophesy. I don't see why we can't share our believes without others saying that it is foolish to study prophesy. I know Jesus says '... therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about it self.' but there is a difference in worrying about tomorrow and studying prophesy in the anticipation of our Lords second coming. Things around the world are going to get a lot worse and many people are going to be coming to us for answers so I believe it is vital to study prophesy, along with the rest of God's Word of coarse, so that we can be prepared.
We are the light of the world and as the world gets darker we will need to shine ever brighter.

I agree with your premise that Christians need to be prepared when people come to us, but I disagree with what you appear to believe is the answer we should give. Jesus said “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." (Matthew 24:36) So if Christ himself did not know the time of the end, it is highly doubtful that any human interpretation will even come close to getting it right.

What we do know is that Christians need to be prepared when the time comes. In Matthew 25, verse 13, Jesus said “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour." (This was the parable of the ten virgins.) In his first letter to the Thessalonians, Paul wrote "Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, 'Peace and safety,' destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape."

So our message, I believe, is always the same; "Repent and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior". "For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified." (1 Corinthians 2:2) Therefore, I personally believe that preoccupation with end time prophecies is unproductive. We should be pursuing the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19) in any event.

I do agree, though, that there is generally too much arguing in these threads. Everyone is entitled to believe in their interpretations of choice without being excoriated for it.
