There is a lot of political talk about taxing big companies and taxing the rich today.
People need to understand a simple fact.
Any time taxes are increased on any company, that tax is passed on to the consumer.
Every company or business has a certain amount of profit that it must make to remain in business.
If that profit is not made, the business will close.

Same can be said of the rich.
They decide how much they need each year to continue their lifestyle and will find a way to make it.
Any increase in taxes, guess who will pay, the consumer.

I ran my own business for 47 years and every year I determined how much money I need to make to make the 60-70 hours a week I worked worthwhile and set my prices accordingly.
When cost went up, whether cost of product, labor, TAXES, my prices went up accordingly.

Everything the government promises to give you has a price and that price will ultimately be pay by you the consumer.

Govco don't need more money. They need accountability for the money they do get, and possibly less money.

Western governments have an agenda. Have a working class that is desperate to keep there job, working slaves. Make sure these slaves have easy access to credit, so they owe a lot of money. If they foreclose they are homeless. Dismantle welfare, so there is no backstop. Give tax breaks to the rich, so the aspirational thinkers work seven days a week to try and also be rich. In the meantime they are so busy focused on the world and its greed and selfishness, they lose sight of Jesus and the truth. Its harder for a rich man to get to heaven than it is to thread a camel through the eye of a needle. The world is nothing but a lie and illusion.

that's called aspirational thinkers here in Australia. The idea that giving tax breaks to the rich means the money trickles down to the rest, it doesn't. And if prices went up so much then the government has to be held to account. Corporate make billions in profits, and we have homeless, high unemployment, the elderly starving, people having to choose food over medicine . Its a sick way to run a country

You have missed the whole point of my post.
The rich will continue to be rich and every added tax on those rich will be passed on to the consumer--
That means you and me will pay for any increase in taxes on the rich on any and every purchase we make.
It has always been that way and will always will be.

Now if you think the government controlling prices will be better---
Be ready to stand in bread lines to get you ration because that is what you will have.

Correct. But the first thing people need to understand is that politicians are essentially CLUELESS and they make the tax laws. But they have fooled low-information (and other) voters to get elected, and they love the power and wealth which comes with being in government, while being totally unproductive.

A simple and fair taxation system would mean a flat tax on all taxpayers (individual or corporate) of 10% of the gross income WITH ABSOLUTELY NO LOOPHOLES OR TAX BREAKS OF ANY KIND. A very simple tax system (not a tax code that goes on for thousands of pages) but tough on those who failed to pay their fair taxes (and this would be a very fair tax with biblical authority found in the tithe).

Chances are that this would bring in more revenue, since there would be absolutely no exemptions, deductions, or tax breaks, and no claims of any kind against taxable income. No tax write-offs either. But hard-earned savings would be exempt from taxes, which would mean more investment in revenue-producing enterprises, thus ultimately more tax revenue.

At the same time, there would be need for legislation to take tax revenue spending OUT OF THE HANDS OF POLITICIANS altogether. A separate independent budgeting and spending authority would be charged with keeping a balanced budget at all times, and government expenditures would be limited to infrastructure, law and order, administration of justice, and national security.

Public debt would be outlawed. and all wasteful and unnecessary government programs would be shut down altogether. A welfare system for truly deserving applicants might be necessary, but if the transference of jobs and manufacturing to the Far East was stopped, there would be plenty of jobs for able-bodied workers.

Chances are this will never happen, but it is the answer to the foolishness of tax and spend, then print money if there is none, and then take on a huge national debt which will never be repaid.

also, here in America, if we went to a flat tax, it would probably began to put a dent in the national debt, so they certainly don't want to do that.

glad to hear someone bring this up, it was talked about a good bit back in the 90's , but has faded since then.

How dare you be so bold as to assert what has been tested and proven time after time. Just because it's what has always happened done mean it's academic.

Sorry but that dosn't make any sense. Will you rephrase please?
I was agreeing with the person that I quoted. I was just using sarcasm to do it.

Basically I'm saying that his point has been made time and again in practice.

Well I hope you have a good solution because it sure isn't socialism/communism.

socialism hasn't worked because it never has been allowed to. Many countries around the world practice socialism and it works well. everyone should have access to free water, sewage, education, health and dental at the very least. And a strong welfare system to look after the sick , elderly and those that simply cannot get a job for various reasons. Capitalism has failed

oh, I think it worked very well in the old u.s.s.r.

a rich ruling class that ran things for many decades unchallengend , had many who even questioned them thrown in gulags , millions starved to death, millions more were depressed alcoholics , thousands died trying to flee it, they almost got away with covering up a nuclear plant meltdown....

I would say that as far as socialism goes, that was a rousing success.....

Most economies today are mixed, consisting of a market sector and governmental impositions that alter the outcomes.

Really? It was allowed to work in the USSR, Cuba, and Venezuela, and proved itself to be DISASTROUS.

All so-called *Socialism* does is put the wealth of a country into the hands of a handful of thugs. Russia is presently ruled by the Mafiya. China is no different and the Triads work hand-in-hand with the thugs in government.

In the US, maybe. Plenty of developed countries have much, much higher taxes, and yet, goods don't cost very much more than they do in the US. At any rate, the benefit of higher taxes funding robust social programs drastically offsets any increase in goods price. A variety of goods can all decrease in price in socialized systems: medicine, education, public transport and healthcare, to name a few.
