The bible is not written to unbelievers, it is written to believers. So we are the people who have to be careful and humble ourselves before God and do what He has instructed us. Christians who go around saying you can only be saved by accepting Jesus as Lord and Saviour are idiotic ignorant stupid twits who are bringing judgement on themselves.
Aren't we a little judgmental here? What do you do with these scriptures?

1 John 5:12 "He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life."

John 3:36 "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."

John 10:29, 30
"My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one."

Well what do I do? I keep them in context as to what is being said. It certainly does not say once saved always saved, even if you want to make it say that, it doesn't make it so...hmmm lets just pluck scriptures from all over to suit what we believe.

Phil 2v12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling

Faith & Works Misconceptions Regarding Baptism By Tim Warner © www.4windsfellowships.net Physical vs. Spiritual Dichotomy —

Dualism One of the concepts of Greek mysticism that invaded Christianity, and continues to grip Christian thinking to some extent today, is the idea of a sharp dichotomy between the "spiritual" and the "physical." "Spirit" is seen as good, and "matter" is seen as inherently corrupt. This concept is typically called "dualism" in philosophical terminology. It was originally foreign to Judaism and early Christianity, but made inroads into both. In particular, it led to the various Gnostic psuedo-Christian cults that appeared in the second century. It is also a key reason why the modern Baptist view of baptism was developed by the Swiss Reformer, Zwingli, in opposition to all the Christian writers from the Apostles until the early 16th century. In the New Testament, the term "spiritual" is frequently used as a synonym for the things of God. The terms "carnal" and "flesh" refer to the things of fallen man. Whether "spiritual" or "carnal" things are immaterial or material is not the issue. "Spiritual" things could be either material or immaterial. Consider the following example: 1 Cor 15:42-47 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption. 43 It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. 44 It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 45 And so it is written, "The first man Adam became a living being." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual. 47 The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven. As is apparent from Paul's reference to the resurrected material body as "spiritual," this term does not imply something immaterial. We see, therefore, that "spiritual" does not necessarily mean non material or abstract. The “spiritual Man” was Jesus Himself. And our “spiritual body” is not an abstract or immaterial thing, but this resurrected flesh renewed by the Spirit of God through resurrection. Similarly, the terms "carnal" and "flesh" do not merely mean "physical." These terms simply mean the things of fallen man apart from the regenerating of the Spirit of God. When Paul listed the "fruit of the Spirit" in Galatians 6, he also listed the "works of the flesh" in the same passage. Some of the "works of the flesh" are abstract and immaterial. For example, some of the works of the flesh Paul listed are "idolatry, hatred, wrath, heresies, envyings." None of these are physical or material. Yet they are "works of the flesh" according to Paul. The bottom line here is that "spiritual" and "carnal" are not necessarily clearly distinguished by tangible vs. intangible, or material vs. immaterial. From the time of the Apostles until the Reformation "baptism" was considered by all orthodox Christians to be the point when the new birth (regeneration) occurs. There was never any perceived conflict between the physical act of baptism and the "not of works" passages in Pauline theology, something frequently argued by modern Baptists. The first to propose such an alleged conflict between baptism and "works" within Christianity was the Swiss Reformer, Huldrych Zwingli. His hyper-Calvinistic view of the sovereignty of God was partly the reason Zwingli invented the modern (Baptist) view, that baptism is merely an outward identification with Christ and a physical sign of a prior conversion. Zwingli strongly opposed the idea man has any part whatsoever in his salvation. Man was not capable of any response to the Gospel. Everything was of God. Hence, any physical act of response to the Gospel could not in any sense determine his salvation. That ruled out baptism. Calvinists took this to such an extreme, that even non-tangible acts of the person, such as believing or repenting, were considered “works.” This led to the false assumption that God does everything related to salvation, including causing the person to believe and repent, thus man is entirely passive. Yet, having such an extreme view of God's sovereignty cannot alone explain Zwingli's new inovation regarding baptism, as Prof. Mark Moore, of Ozark Christian College, explains. “All this raises an interesting question. Zwingli was not the first theologian to have a strong view of the sovereignty of God. Augustine and Luther are two others that come immediately to mind, both of whom touched Zwingli deeply. Yet neither of these, nor any other theologian for that matter, sensed a tension like Zwingli between sovereignty and sacraments. Thus, one concludes that there was something else in Zwingli’s equation other than his view of God. “That something else is his incipient philosophic dualism. Simply put, Zwingli believed that the flesh was evil, the spirit was good, and ‘ne’er the twain shall meet.’ He was not a complete dualist in the Manichaean sense. Nevertheless, based on passages such as John 6:3 and Galatians 5:17, he saw a yawning chasm between the spirit and the flesh. ‘As long as we are in the flesh, we are never without sin. For the flesh and the spirit are contrary the one to the other, so that we do not do the things which in the spirit we would do. . . . All who are in the flesh are sinful.’ This is because the flesh is always evil. As he says, ‘The flesh is mire; hence whatever comes from man is stained.’” 1 The same premise on which Gnosticism is based became the presupposition of this new view of baptism. Not of Works Paul taught that initial salvation is "not of works." Does this concept eliminate any and all physical activity from connection with salvation? No. The supposition that Paul's "not of works" comments rule out all physical responses to the Gospel are not based on Scripture, but on the dualistic thinking of Greek philosophy that still colors Christian thinking to some extent. Paul contrasted "works of righteousness," which he explicitly excluded from salvation, with other physical acts which he stated plainly are connected to our salvation. Therefore, there are clearly physical acts that do not fall into the category of "works" as Scripture defines them. Notice in the following passage Paul distinguished between baptism and "works." Baptism is not a "work," but is seen in contrast to "works" in the following passage. "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration [literally, "the bath of second birth"] and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior," (Titus 3:5-6 NKJ). The bath of second birth is baptism. It is contrasted with "works of righteousness." The former is explicitly included in salvation, the latter is explicitly excluded. Yet, both are physical acts. Another physical act was also included in initial salvation by Paul. "That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Rom. 10:9-10 NKJ). If, "not of works" means the exclusion of all physical action, then Paul has contradicted himself in both of these passages. Conclusion: Baptism is not a "work" in the sense that Paul used the term when excluding "works" from salvation. Baptism is therefore not to be excluded from connection with initial salvation based on the "not of works" passages of Scripture. Paul explicitly included baptism in our salvation process, and excluded "works of righteousness" in the very same verse (Titus 3:5).

So you are saying and correct me if I am wrong. I can receive the gift of salvation today and then in a week begin fornicating and I am still saved?
I do agree salvation is a gift and not a work. I have not said otherwise, have I?
Does the law create righteousness?

Are you still saved if you keep the law?

The subject being discussed was: Can anyone be saved without Jesus. My scripture just pointed out that there is only one name wherewith man can be saved.

Acts 4:12 "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

Finally, I have not been purporting OSAS anywhere.

This is not about being justified and remaining justified.

What you need to find is a scripture in the New Testament, a scripture that states a person was justified by God and then God unjustified them.

ROM. 3:10.
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:..................................

when we are of 'the world', the above statement is very true, but Grace, AFTER our CONVERSION,
our Lord is our Righteousness...
If we confess our sins, He is just and Faithful to forgive us', - if we have no sin to our 'account', then,
the wages of 'sin' has no power over us -
JER. 23:6.
In His days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is His name whereby He shall be called,
THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

1COR. 6:11.
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified
in The Name of The Lord Jesus, and by The Spirit of our God. =
yes, we were ONCE 'filthy' in our sins, but NOW' we are no more 'filthy', because we are WASHED
by The Water and by The Blood of God - we can't get any cleaner than a good scrubbing from The Lord -
we thank Him for this cleansing every day of our lives...

Luke 23:39-40 . . One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at
him: Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us! But the other criminal
rebuked him. Don't you fear God, he said, since you are under the same
sentence?

There's a humorous incident depicted in Dante's Inferno where these two
guys are quarrelling over which deserves to be in Hell more than the other.
But when both are in Hell, it matters little who deserves to be there more.
Having a holier-than-thou-attitude in Hell is pretty much going to get you
nowhere.

HAHAHHAHAHAH So far with what I have read in the last 30 seconds.....you would not know context if it walked up and slapped you in the face......Here......the following are verses that must be rejected, denied, swept under the table to peddle your pseudo salvation that can be lost or even earned......

The following is a comparison between the bible and salvation losers......and make no mistake...this is exactly what they peddle and or how they butcher the word of God by their losable salvation....

Bible -->I will never leave thee or forsake thee
Salvation Losers ---->Jesus is a liar and will leave us and forsake us

Bible --->We are saved to the uttermost and kept by the power of God through faith
Salvation losers --->The power of God is weak and inept, we are not saved to the uttermost and GOD does not keep us

Bible -->Jesus begins, finishes and completes the work of faith in us
Salvation losers --->WE must maintain our faith because JESUS does not finish and complete the work of faith in us

Bible -->He that believes on the SON is having everlasting/eternal life
Salvation losers --->He that believes and MAINTAINS his belief on the SON is having temporal life based upon what he does or does not do

Bible -->Therefore we conclude a man is justified by faith without the deeds/works of the law
Salvation losers -->James out of context tells us we are justified by our works before God

Bible -->It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe
Salvation losers --->It pleased God by works, church membership, baptism, pew jumping, speaking in tongues, back flipping down the isle, saying 57 hail Mary's, taking the Lord's supper, keeping the sacraments and a dozen other religiously zealous man made efforts to save them

Bible -->NOTHING can separate us from the love of GOD
Salvation losers -->Numerous things can separate us from the love of GOD

Bible--->We are in the Son's hand, the Father's hand and NO AN can remove us from that position
Salvation losers -->The above is false, we can remove ourselves because God is weak and inept

Bible -->We are sealed unto the day of redemption
Salvation losers-->The seal of God can be broken because God is weak and inept

Bible --->
Where sin abounds, grace abounds the more
Salvation losers--> We qualify, quantify sin and God's grace only covers those small sins when we mess up and for sure we have never lost it, but eternal security believers lose it because they believe they can live any way they want and live like the devil

Bible --->He that believes on the Son is not condemned
Salvation losers --> Believers are condemned all the time and returned to being goats after becoming sheep

Bible --> I will lose nothing, but raise it up the last day
Salvation losers -->God loses people all the time because he is too weak to keep them saved

Bible--> We are born again from above by INCORRUPTIBLE SEED
Salvation losers --> We are not born of incorruptible seed, because that seed can be corrupted and one die lost after being born again

Bible --> The gifts and calling of God are irrevocable
Salvation losers -->God's free GIFT of salvation can be revoked because GOD will break ALL the above promises and send one to hell after being saved

ETC.............I dare to say that salvation losers are false.....and what they peddle is not of GOD and as blasphemous as it comes......the above is a SMALL sample of scriptural promises that MUST BE DENIED, REJECTED and or SWEPT UNDER THE TABLE to peddle a dime store salvation that cannot be found in the bible and or a dime store salvation that devalues the work, promises and ministry of CHRIST!!!!!!!

There's a variety of negative opinions about God all across the internet.
Some say He's cruel, sadistic, heartless, unjust, unfair, unkind, a despotic
bully, a monster, sexist, and just a general all around jerk.

Well, it matters little whether He's all that, and more. It's futile to criticize
God and rake Him across the coals because God can't be stopped no matter
what His faults.

There's little to be gained by a man on the gallows with a noose already
around his neck turning to the executioner and saying: Your breath stinks.
Well; maybe it really does stink but the condemned man is still going to get
his neck stretched regardless. He will have the satisfaction of getting in a
parting shot but pointing out the executioner's faults won't stop him from
doing his job.

"Who are you, O man, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to him
who formed it: Why did you make me like this? (Rom 9:20)

FAQ: If it's true that people in Hell are destined to be stuck there forever,
then wouldn't it be accurate to say they have eternal life seeing as how they
will never cease to exist?

A: Eternal life has practically nothing at all to do with longevity.

Eternal life has to do with God's basic nature, i.e. the very core of His divine
being; whereas human life has to do with a human's basic nature, i.e. the
very core of a created being.

People in Hell live and move and have their being with human nature;
whereas people in Heaven live and move and have their being with divine
nature. (2Pet 1:4)

If people in heaven really and truly do have divine nature rather than human
nature, then just imagine how easy it is for them to please God not just
some of the time, nor even most of the time; but all of the time.

The tree of life in the garden of Eden would've extended longevity
indefinitely for as long as the people kept nourishing themselves with its fruit
and using its leaves for remedies (Gen 3:22, Rev 22:2). So that goes to
show that it isn't necessary for humans to have eternal life in order for them
to exist a long, long time. There are other ways to keep human life going. I
suspect that God has quite a few tricks up His sleeve about which we are
thus far unaware.

According to Jesus Christ's testimony as an expert witness in all matters
pertaining to the afterlife; most of the world's responsible souls haven't been
making it to safety when they cross over to the other side.

†. Luke 13:22-24 . . And he went through the cities and villages, teaching,
and journeying toward Jerusalem. Then said one unto him, master, are there
few that be saved? And he said unto them: Strive to enter in at the strait
gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

†. Matt 7:13-14 . . Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and
broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But
small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find
it.

†. Matt 22:14 . . For many are called, but few are chosen.

Webster's defines "many" as consisting of, or amounting to, a large but
indefinite number; while "few" is defined as consisting of, or amounting to,
only a small number; viz: relative to many then, few is the lesser. Bear with
me while I flesh this out.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the resident population of the United
States, projected to 12/10/14 at 03:35 pm New York time, was
approximately 319,408,600 with a death rate of approximately one every 12
seconds; which translates to an average of 7,200 American deaths of all
ages, races, and genders during just one 24-hour calendar day.

According to 2009 US Census data; roughly 27.3% of America's daily deaths
are under the age of 19, which would indicate that approximately 5,089 of
the current daily death rate of 7,200 per 24 hours are adults. Giving the
"many" the benefit of the doubt by limiting their maximum percentage to
51%, would indicate a minimum of 2,595 American adults transferring to
perdition every day: which translates to roughly 108 per hour.

That's a very conservative estimate as the Lord didn't really specify exact
percentages to represent the quantities of "few" and "many". But just think:
by the time CBS completes its half-hour evening news report, a bare-bones
minimum of 54 Americans become new arrivals in the fiery sector of the
netherworld.

Using the ratio of 2,595 condemned souls per 319,408,600 population:
computing the number of condemned souls worldwide from a currently
estimated global population of 7,210,485,300 people, would suggest
something like 58,581 new arrivals in the fiery sector of the netherworld
every 24 hours; which translates to 2,441 souls every sixty minutes on the
clock.

That rate would fill the 51,800 seats of the new Yankee Stadium to capacity
in roughly 21 hours and 13 minutes. In other words: if the world's daily
number of condemned souls started filing into the stadium at 06:00 am this
morning, then by 03:13 am tomorrow, the stadium would be full to capacity.

Christmas and New Year's are even worse. A study done of 26 years of
death certificates shows that coronary fatalities are, on average, 11.9%
higher on those days than any other days of the year; with non-heart deaths
spiking to 12.2% higher; and believe me folks, hell never closes; no, not at
all: it's open for business 24/7/365 nonstop and indifferent to global
warming, Wall Street crashes, massive layoffs, high school shootings,
terrorism, tsunamis, earthquakes, nuclear meltdowns, air, water, and soil
pollution, freeway pile-ups, brown-outs, threatened species, gasoline prices,
student debt, GMO, trade deficits, Federal debt, factory recalls,
overpopulation, desertification, genocides, revolutions, civil wars, acid rain,
road rage, conscious decoupling, ISIS, gay marriage, the crisis in Ukraine,
Obamacare, blood diamonds, fracking, twerking, Oprah's millions, and
Letterman's retirement.

If the Lord is a credible witness; then it's apparent that souls never stop
cascading into the pits of hell in an endless procession like the unbelievable
millions of poultry broilers passing annually through Tyson chicken
processing plants on their way to Wendy's, McDonalds, Carl's Junior, Jack in
the Box, Burger King, In-n-Out Burger, KFC, A&W, Arby's, Dairy Queen,
Taco Bell, et al; and to supermarkets and restaurants all over the USA and
wherever else Tyson vends its meats. The slaughtering, the butchering, the
packaging, and the shipping never stop.

Good day Webershome,

Regarding "Matt 22:14 . . For many are called, but few are chosen" I believe that it is necessary to read the context of that parable. Those who were invited are the Jews, which are those referred to as making up excuses as to why they can't come. They are also identified as the Jewish nation because they seized the king's servants, mistreated them, and killed them, which is referring to the prophets God sent to them. That God sent was enraged, and he sent his troops to destroy those murderers and burn their city would be indicative of the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple in 70 AD. The invitation to those out in the crossroads, byways and highways is referring to God's offer of universal salvation for all. The man without wedding clothes, is representing those who reject Christ.

What the parable is not saying is that, even if you have true faith in Christ you can still be rejected.

I'm sometimes very curious why seemingly normal foods are hazardous to
so many people, i.e. salt, fat, sugar, gluten, peanuts, dairy, red meat; etc.

Ps 69:22 . . May their table before them become a snare;

I don't know if the above is supposed to be arbitrary, but it sure seems to be
because health issues related to nourishment are everywhere regardless of
race, gender, age, or religious preference.

"A voice rings out; Proclaim! Another asks; What shall I proclaim? All flesh is
grass, all its goodness like flowers of the field: Grass withers, flowers fade
when the breath of the Lord blows on them. Indeed, man is but grass: Grass
withers, flowers fade" (Isa 40:6-8)

Man is but perishable fruit like peaches, pears, strawberries, cantaloupe,
avocado, and oranges; no amount of refrigeration will keep him fresh.
Regardless of the amount of rest, fresh air, good diet, and exercise; man
begins to wither right around the age of 32 or 34.

Youngster's can't really appreciate their expiration date as three brief
decades: to them, 32 or 34 years seems long and way out in the distance.
As a result, the withering process often sneaks up and takes them by
surprise like starting a frog off in cool water and slowly bringing it up to a
boil. Of a sudden, one day it swats them in the face like a rolled up
newspaper that they're "old school" replaced by a young, hip generation
wherein they've been accustomed to thinking all along was themselves.

The aging process, once it starts, is relentless. Its personality is sort of like
that of the robot in Arnold Schwarzenegger's movie "The Terminator" which
is a machine that can't be bargained with, it can't be reasoned with, it
doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear, and it absolutely will not stop-- ever! --
until you are dead.

The aging process is a cold as steel wake-up call that your tenure on this
planet is rapidly winding down to a close; and one day, it will be like you
were never here.

Years ago when I underwent recruit training in the US Army, we were
processed in alphabetical order; consequently I was at the back of the line
for just about everything except chow because my last name begins with W
--very few guys' names began with X, Y, or Z.

If perchance the great white throne event depicted at Rev 20:11-15 is
scheduled to be done in alphabetical order, it would quite possibly be
centuries before my turn came to face the music were I among those in line
to be called forward.

Let's say, for example, that the pop clock update below represents one hour
in court per person. No doubt that's an extremely conservative amount of
time allotted to evaluate every little detail in peoples' lives but we're just
being hypothetical here so it doesn't matter.

Well; 103,981,275 hours equals 4,332,553 days of twenty-fours hours each;
which adds up to 180,523 years if the great white throne event is scheduled
to run non-stop, day and night, 24/7

Pop Clock Update: 1,775 days have elapsed since beginning the thread. If
the figures in post #1 are within reason, then something like 103,981,275
new arrivals have checked into the fiery sector of hades since December 10,
2014.

Years ago when I underwent recruit training in the US Army, we were
processed in alphabetical order; consequently I was at the back of the line
for just about everything except chow because my last name begins with W
--very few guys' names began with X, Y, or Z.

You are right on dcon, WH has been doom-saying for some time now. I don't believe anyone is in hell yet. Anyway, the "White Throne" event isn't something current believers will ever face. 5thumbsup.gif

Internet forums are a cruel venue. Participants write their comments
about hell as if we're all members of a Jane Austen book club discussing a
chapter of Pride And Prejudice.

But the numbers that I post on this thread from time to time are not fiction;
they represent real people whose lives have culminated in unspeakable
tragedy. I'd much prefer eternity in a looney bin, soling my pants and
drooling all over myself like a stroke victim, than be where those
unfortunates are in residence now.

Luke 16:27-28 . .The rich man answered: "I beg you, father, send Lazarus
to my father's house, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that
they will not also come to this place of torment."

The rich man knew something about hell that apparently many of us online
seem unable to fully appreciate. The time to be thinking about the hereafter
is while we're in this life-- now, before it ends --rather than the next when it
will be too late to do anything about it.

Matt 5:21-22a . . You have heard that it was said to the people long ago:
Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment. But I
tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to
judgment.

I think it's safe to assume that the anger spoken of in that passage is a
malicious kind of anger eating away at somebody who wants you dead. (cf.
1John 3:15)

Matt 5:22b . . . Again, anyone who says to his brother "Raca" is
answerable to the Sanhedrin.

Raca refers to name-calling, especially in regards to their intelligence, e.g.
idiot, moron, dummy, lame brain, space cadet, Neanderthal, air head,
dimwit, bird brain, knuckle dragger, doofus, jackass, ignoramus, etc.

Matt 5:22c . . But anyone who says "You fool" will be in danger of the fire
of hell.

"You fool" in this case refers to is a particular kind of mental cruelty that
devalues someone's worth as a person, and makes people-- especially
growing children --feel bad about themselves, i.e. makes people feel like
they don't count and/or don't matter, like they are something less than a
real human being.

Demeaning comments in the "you fool" category erode someone's self
respect to where they feel like they don't belong: they're unnecessary,
unwelcome. and unworthy of being included or of being listened to and/or
taken seriously.

There's a certain amount of poetic justice in Matt 5:22c. People that make
others' lives a living hell in this life via you-fool remarks, fully deserve their
own lives to be a living hell in the next.
