You are right on dcon, WH has been doom-saying for some time now. I don't believe anyone is in hell yet. Anyway, the "White Throne" event isn't something current believers will ever face. View attachment 203039
Hell is the living suffering we could face in this life. In Genesis the foundation where most doctrines get there introduction. Faithless Cain is the first person to suffer the wages of sin (a dying body) without the rest we have in Christ. His burden was not made lighter.

The dead know nothing no suffering or pain. They will not rise on the last day and receive a new incorruptible body. Again a punishment that Cain could not bear as a marked man (666) He became a restless no sabbath rest wanderer all the days of his life..

The kind of suffering that the Father and Son working as one alone could bear.

And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand; When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth. And Cain said unto the Lord, My punishment is greater than I can bear. Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me. And the Lord said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a "mark" (666) upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.Genesis 4:

Our faith in Christ will bring our home. God sent His son into this
world go give us eternal life. The way, the the truth and the life
will bring us there that is why Jesus said that He who follows me
will have eternal life. We have been saved once and for all. God
did not send Jesus here to kill us so everyone should not be sitting
here always figuring out the way he will kill us. That understanding
is absurd and yet on it is said over and over again.

Jer 13:23 . . Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard its spots?
Neither can you do good who are accustomed to doing evil.

Back in the mid 1960s-- when I was a young single guy around 24 years old
living solo in a tiny rented room in a family home's daylight basement --I
had lots of time to myself to think about things since I had no friends, nor
any kind of social contact whatsoever other than at work. I wasn't distracted
with a girl friend, nor by pals and beer buddies, nor by an obsessive hobby.
It was just me, my 1961 Volkswagen, and a 305 Honda motorcycle that I
rode all over northwest Oregon.

I thought about Hell a lot back in those days; and the very real possibility of
my ending up there. It occurred to me at the time that it would be a whole
lots easier to comply with God's wishes if only I were like Him instead of like
me. Doing bad is easy for me because I'm bad without thinking about it
whereas doing good is a fight against nature. If only I could do good as
naturally as God does good; I'd have it made.

Another thought crossed my mind back in those days. Let's assume that I
could somehow manage to be pious enough in this lifetime to qualify for
Heaven. Then what? I was pretty sure I could never manage to be pious for
all eternity: possibly in this life, but certainly never in the next; no, I could
never keep it up forever. Sooner or later my true colors would show
themselves.

I envied people like Moses because he had Heaven in the bag while I had no
clue about my future; though I was fairly sure that for me, Hell was pretty
much a foregone conclusion.

I didn't know it at the time, but I was very fortunate to be thinking those
kinds of thoughts because right around then I ran across a solution to my
problem in the Old Testament that says:

"I will take you from among the nations and gather you from all the
countries, and I will bring you to your land. And I will sprinkle clean water
upon you, and you will be clean; from all your impurities and from all your
abominations will I cleanse you.

. . . And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit will I put within you,
and I will take away the heart of stone out of your flesh, and I will give you
a heart of flesh. And I will put My spirit within you and bring it about that
you will walk in My statutes and you will keep My ordinances and do them."
(Ezek 36:24-27)

Those promises were made to the Jews so of course I, being a Gentile,
couldn't expect God to let me in on them. But just think of the tremendous
advantages that passage speaks of. Whereas I am normally and naturally
impious, with those promises in hand I could become just the opposite, viz:
I could become normally and naturally pious. Ezek 36:24-27 really perked
me up and lifted my spirits because it gave me a light at the end of the
tunnel whereas before then, I had none.

Eph 2:11-22 tells how that God has a way for Gentiles to share in the Jews'
benefits. The light at the end of the tunnel spoken of above is available to
everyone on Earth regardless of age, race, color, or gender; which the
apostle Peter sums up by saying:

"Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and
of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given us everything we need for life
and piety through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and
goodness. Through these He has given us His very great and precious
promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature."
(2Pet 1:2-4)

Eccl 12:7 . .Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit
shall return unto God who gave it.

The second half of that passage is what interests me the most because
Adam's body was made of the dust of the earth, but his soul wasn't made
like that. According to Gen 2;7, the breath of life made Adam's soul.

So; I think it's fairly safe to assume that where Ecc 12:7 says that the spirit
shall return to God, it's talking about God laying claim to a dead person's
soul; and that is a very, very unnerving proposition.

"It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." (Heb 10:31)

According to Matt 10:28, assassins can take the life of a man's body, but
they are powerless to take the life of a man's soul; which means that a
man's death doesn't terminate his existence; there's still God to reckon with.

Matt 10:28 . . Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill
the soul. Rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in
hell.

The Greek word for "hell" in that verse isn't hades, it's geena (gheh' en-nah)
i.e. the sum of all fears. So then, the rich man incarcerated in hades as per
Luke 16:19-31 still has his soul and won't lose it till he's transferred to
geena during the great white throne event depicted at Rev 20:11-15 where
people will undergo a gruesome termination akin to a foundry worker falling
into a kettle of molten iron.

Matt 16:26 . .What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world,
yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?

There are far too many people on internet forums casually discussing the
sum of all fears as if they're in a Jane Austen book club discussing a chapter
of Pride And Prejudice. Well; let me say to those grasshoppers: the hades
described in Luke 16:19-31 is bad enough, but the geena of Isa 66:23-24,
Matt 10:28, and Mark 9:43-48 is much worse because it's in there where
people lose their human souls and quite possibly given a demonic soul in
exchange.

I'm not claiming the part I said about a demonic soul is true; I'm only
suggesting it's a distinct possibility because the lake of fire wasn't initially
constructed for humans, rather it was initially constructed for the Devil and
his angels. (Matt 25:41)

According to Matt 10:28, assassins can take the life of a born again man's body, but they are powerless to take the life of a man's new born soul and spirit ; which means that unregenerate man's death terminate his whole existence .Body soul and spirit existence. A soul the contemplations of ones mind or heart does not live independent of his spirit .

The lake of fire was designed for death known as the letter of the law . It will not rise and condemn another whole creation.

Romans 7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

FAQ: Seeing as how Satan is harvesting more souls than Christ, then he'll
get the last laugh won't he? Like "LOL, I got more than You!"

A: I don't expect Satan to do much gloating. He's a narcissistic alpha male;
which is a personality that feels very strongly it's not good enough to win;
everyone else must lose, viz: people like him will not settle for a market
share, no, they will settle for nothing less than the whole market. In their
thinking, anything less than 100% market share makes them feel
inadequate and less than a success. Were you to ask them what number
would satisfy them; they'd likely answer: More.

In Satan's mind "more than you" isn't enough to cheer him up for an LOL.
Anything less than all is nothing to brag about because in his mind, there are
no second place winners. Ergo, any souls taken by Christ, no matter how
few in number, are painful for Satan because that massive ego of his can't,
and won't, tolerate the reduction of even one soul in his inventory. In a mind
like Satan's, Christ is a thief taking things for himself that rightfully don't
belong to him.

According to Rev 12:12, the Devil's final hours characterize him in a very
disagreeable mood.

You know; it's not easy to be a devil. The poor creature is stuck with a
personality that allows him very little peace of mind, if any.

Gen 3:19 . . By the sweat of your brow shall you get bread to eat, until
you return to the ground-- for from it you were taken. For dust you are, and
to dust you shall return.

Did God have to smite Adam in order for him to stop living? No; it was only
necessary to deny Adam access to the tree of life and let nature and hard
work take their toll. In other words: since he was no longer immortal due to
tasting the forbidden fruit, it would be only a matter of time before Adam
simply gave out and passed away from wear and tear and old age.

But what happened to Adam when his body returned to dust? Did he return
to dust too? No; and that's because Adam wasn't entirely organic. His body
came from the soil; but according to Gen 2:7, his consciousness came from
God. The afterlife disposition of human consciousness is one of life's greatest
mysteries. Heck, even the origin of human consciousness is mystery enough
for some, let alone where it goes when people pass away.

Were I to be asked my opinion what might be an attitude that is just about
guaranteed to put people on the road to hell, my answer would have to be
indifference.

Heb 5:8-11 . .Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the
things which he suffered; and being made perfect, he became the author of
eternal salvation unto all them that obey him-- called of God an high priest
after the order of Melchizedek; of whom we have many things to say, and
hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.

"dull of hearing" refers to a lack of interest, viz: indifference; for example:

Zech 7:11-12 . . But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the
shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear. Yea, they made
their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the
words which The Lord of hosts hath sent in His spirit by the former prophets:
therefore came a great wrath from The Lord of hosts.

Again:

Matt 13:13-15 . .Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do
not hear or understand. In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which
says: "You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever
seeing but never perceiving.

. . . For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with
their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with
their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I
would heal them."

And again:

John 3:19-21 . .This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men
loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who
does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his
deeds will be exposed.

According to Jesus Christ's testimony as an expert witness in all matters
pertaining to the afterlife; most of the world's responsible souls haven't been
making it to safety when they cross over to the other side.

†. Luke 13:22-24 . . And he went through the cities and villages, teaching,
and journeying toward Jerusalem. Then said one unto him, master, are there
few that be saved? And he said unto them: Strive to enter in at the strait
gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

†. Matt 7:13-14 . . Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and
broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But
small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find
it.

†. Matt 22:14 . . For many are called, but few are chosen.

Webster's defines "many" as consisting of, or amounting to, a large but
indefinite number; while "few" is defined as consisting of, or amounting to,
only a small number; viz: relative to many then, few is the lesser. Bear with
me while I flesh this out.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the resident population of the United
States, projected to 12/10/14 at 03:35 pm New York time, was
approximately 319,408,600 with a death rate of approximately one every 12
seconds; which translates to an average of 7,200 American deaths of all
ages, races, and genders during just one 24-hour calendar day.

According to 2009 US Census data; roughly 27.3% of America's daily deaths
are under the age of 19, which would indicate that approximately 5,089 of
the current daily death rate of 7,200 per 24 hours are adults. Giving the
"many" the benefit of the doubt by limiting their maximum percentage to
51%, would indicate a minimum of 2,595 American adults transferring to
perdition every day: which translates to roughly 108 per hour.

That's a very conservative estimate as the Lord didn't really specify exact
percentages to represent the quantities of "few" and "many". But just think:
by the time CBS completes its half-hour evening news report, a bare-bones
minimum of 54 Americans become new arrivals in the fiery sector of the
netherworld.

Using the ratio of 2,595 condemned souls per 319,408,600 population:
computing the number of condemned souls worldwide from a currently
estimated global population of 7,210,485,300 people, would suggest
something like 58,581 new arrivals in the fiery sector of the netherworld
every 24 hours; which translates to 2,441 souls every sixty minutes on the
clock.

That rate would fill the 51,800 seats of the new Yankee Stadium to capacity
in roughly 21 hours and 13 minutes. In other words: if the world's daily
number of condemned souls started filing into the stadium at 06:00 am this
morning, then by 03:13 am tomorrow, the stadium would be full to capacity.

Christmas and New Year's are even worse. A study done of 26 years of
death certificates shows that coronary fatalities are, on average, 11.9%
higher on those days than any other days of the year; with non-heart deaths
spiking to 12.2% higher; and believe me folks, hell never closes; no, not at
all: it's open for business 24/7/365 nonstop and indifferent to global
warming, Wall Street crashes, massive layoffs, high school shootings,
terrorism, tsunamis, earthquakes, nuclear meltdowns, air, water, and soil
pollution, freeway pile-ups, brown-outs, threatened species, gasoline prices,
student debt, GMO, trade deficits, Federal debt, factory recalls,
overpopulation, desertification, genocides, revolutions, civil wars, acid rain,
road rage, conscious decoupling, ISIS, gay marriage, the crisis in Ukraine,
Obamacare, blood diamonds, fracking, twerking, Oprah's millions, and
Letterman's retirement.

If the Lord is a credible witness; then it's apparent that souls never stop
cascading into the pits of hell in an endless procession like the unbelievable
millions of poultry broilers passing annually through Tyson chicken
processing plants on their way to Wendy's, McDonalds, Carl's Junior, Jack in
the Box, Burger King, In-n-Out Burger, KFC, A&W, Arby's, Dairy Queen,
Taco Bell, et al; and to supermarkets and restaurants all over the USA and
wherever else Tyson vends its meats. The slaughtering, the butchering, the
packaging, and the shipping never stop.

========================================
Why do some Christians enjoy the thought that all the people they don't like are going to Hell?
And you're one that likes to daily update that number?
That's weird.

Why would you think a tally of that nature is a good thing? Have you read the Book of Revelation? Hell hasn't opened for business yet. Which means no one has yet cascaded into Hell.

Are you not aware of that or just optimistic you're not going to be one of those tallied on that there clock?

You don't mind reworking Elie Wiesel's quote into this?
I agree, this is a bunch of nonsense. No one is in Hell today. You appear to take great joy in thinking there are people there. Look to your own soul. Don't think to count others in Hell when not even God has done this.

Gen 6:3 . . And the Lord said: My Spirit shall not strive with man forever
for they are only mortal flesh.

A problem with mortal flesh is it's brevity. The human body eventually loses
its vigor, so God has a limited amount of time to work with people before
they pass on. Were humans immortal, He would have plenty of time to turn
people around; but alas, without access to the tree of life, such is not the
case; which is why I sometimes advise certain folk to use what time they
have remaining to begin preparing themselves for the worst when they pass
on.

"It is the irrevocable character of their choice, and not a defect in the infinite
divine mercy, that makes the angels' sin unforgivable. There is no
repentance for the angels after their fall, just as there is no repentance for
men after death." (CCC 393)

That quote is taken from the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Well; I don't
really know just how true it is, but Jesus said something that suggests very
strongly to me that Rome is spot-on.

John 8:21-24 . . Once more Jesus said to them, "I am going away, and
you will look for me, and you will die in your sin. Where I go, you cannot

. . .This made the Jews ask, "Will he kill himself? Is that why he says,
'Where I go, you cannot come'?"

world; I am not of this world. I told you that you would die in your sins; if
you do not believe that I am [the one I claim to be], you will indeed die in
your sins.

Most of the boys I grew up with really wanted to experience sleeping with a
girl at least once in their lives. Well; the Viet Nam war foreshortened the
lives of a pretty large number of boys in their teens, and also young men
in their early twenties, who never got to see their dream come true. On top
of that, some of them not only missed out on sleeping with a girl, but they
went straight to hell from the battlefield.

I can only imagine how grief-stricken those guys must be. They not only
missed out on this life, but the next too. Hell for them is a double whammy
of despair; defined by Webster's as utter loss of hope. i.e. to expect neither
relief nor improvement in one's circumstances.

Eccl 3:1 . . To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose
under the heaven.

Well; there's a time for love-- in hell there's no going back to make up for
lost time.

Was not the battlefield hell and many were delivered from it (hell) when they died?
hell is defined as "by reason of sufferings" .not dead never to rise to new life.

It seems you have turned it upside down .The sufferings as the wage of sin that we have in these bodies of death will end when we take our last breath . Dead people cannot suffer they have no spirit .

Ecclesiastes 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Eccl 12:7 . .Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit
shall return unto God who gave it

Christ's teachings trump Solomon's

Matt 12:42 . .The queen of the south will be raised up in the judgment
with this generation and will condemn it; because she came from the ends of
the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, but, look! something more than
Solomon is here.

Solomon wrote the book of Ecclesiastes from the perspective of a man under
the sun, i.e. philosophical man who's understanding of life is pretty much
moderated by empirical evidence.

To my knowledge, Solomon had never seen the afterlife for himself, viz: he
wasn't an expert witness; whereas Christ had seen the afterlife for himself
and knew what he was talking about.

John 3:31-32 . . He who comes from above is above all, he who is of the
earth is from the earth and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven
is above all. What He has seen and heard, of that he bears witness.

Christ is also highly recommended, whereas to my knowledge, Solomon
isn't.

Matt 17:5 . . This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved; listen to
him.

So then, when encountering remarks in the book of Ecclesiastes that are out
of step with the Christ's teachings in the New Testament; my unsolicited
spiritual counseling is to ignore Solomon and go with the wisdom of "my
Son".

John 8:12 . . I am the light of the world. He that follows me will by no
means walk in darkness, but will possess the light of life.

FAQ's? Christ said.. if you were blind you would have no sin. You say you see your sin remains. Kinda hard to judge someone on something they never knew. And yes yes each of us know our personal belief is the real true gospel. The fact that no books have been open....yet. Then the main and best part is.. just WHO are we talking about? Our mom or dad? Our brother or sister? No.. we would not post things like that. Were talking about people.. real people a GOD made. Where we are not the judge and jury based on Gods words. Were talking about Gods creation.

Believe or not matters not. I have always prayed to see people through His eyes. Well one day He answered that prayer. Well 15 years later. I don't know why but that start of this is always when me and my wife were in a store and someone cut in front of her. I said since it really bothered her .. say something..oh she did :( So were driving home (in Glendale Calf) and.. It was like He just sat between us. Didn't see anything..oh but praise GOD HE was there. Then as I looked at all the people walking on the streets... I had this love I can't explain and He was crying so very very hard for not one knew how much He loved them. I didn't see lost and saved just people. Not one knew how much He loved them and He was crying.

At this time it was the only time I have really felt this battle with flesh and spirit. Well what was so odd and strange was.. part of me oh want to STOMP on the brakes and RUN To each person and tell them how LOVED they are.. but at the same moment...this other part didn't want to. I really had this battle.. so strange. Well about 15-20 secconds or so it like lifted and was gone. Then? Yeah.. sad to say no way did I want to stop. I knew what He showed me was a very tiny ..so small part of what He feels. No one could .. truly understand the love He has for us.

So.. I ALWAYS say when talking about Hell (Father forgive me). We have no clue about how He feels. He left heaven.. became what He created.. when the world hated Him.. yet He loved this world so much.. He died for it. Its far eaiser to be saved then lost. How do I now this? Easy.. because MAN not God man says most will be lost. We seem to think EVERYONE KNOWS about JESUS! No..

IN the year 2000 a Jewish man living in NY USA...never ever heard of Yeshua/Jesus. When he did.. He was saved :) Most are bind..

Ecclesiastes is handy for showing that not all spiritual people are kooks with
their heads in the clouds and unable to see things as they are through the
eyes of normal people.

FAQ: Doesn't the apostle Paul say that all Scripture is God breathed?

A: Every now and then I encounter people on internet forums who've yet to
be taught the difference between inspiration and dictation.

Solomon was no doubt inspired to record his personal world view in the book
of Ecclesiastes, but it's not a good idea to assume his world view quotes God
word-for-word the way Christ does.

John 3:34 . . For he is sent by God. He speaks God's words, for God's
Spirit is upon him without measure or limit

John 8:26 . .He that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things
which I have heard of Him.

John 8:28 . . I do nothing on my own initiative, but I speak these things as
the Father taught me.

John 12:49 . . I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me,
he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

John 14:24 . .The word which you hear is not mine, but the Father's who
sent me.

Too many people regard Christ as just another prophet on a par with
prophets before him. That is a very, very big mistake.

John 1:1-14 . . In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with
God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt
among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the
Father,) full of grace and truth.

FAQ: Doesn't Ps 146:3-4 says that when a man dies his thoughts perish that
very day?

A: The Hebrew word for "thoughts" in Ps 146:3-4 is 'eshtonah (esh-to naw')
which has nothing to do with either existence or awareness. The word is
very ambiguous and refers to quite a variety of meanings to choose from;
including, but not limited to: concerns, anticipations, conceptions, opinions,
imaginations, visualizations, ideas, epiphanies, plans, schemes, fantasies,
arguments, aspirations, deliberations, and the like.

For the rich man and his barns in Jesus' parable at Luke 12:16-20; I would
choose ideas, plans, and schemes.

Take for example Michael Jackson. While working on a new world tour,
Jackson died in his sleep. As a result; his tour wrapped on the spot.

When my eldest nephew was paroled from prison, he quit drinking, and
began going to college with the goal towards becoming a counselor. For 2½
years all went well. His parole officer was happy, and he was on track and
getting good grades. My nephew's future looked assured. And then on the
morning of Sept 25, 2015, he dropped dead to the floor of natural causes.

My nephew's passing was a terrible disappointment to everybody; but
actually we all kind of expected it. He was grossly overweight, had high
blood pressure and high cholesterol, rarely exercised, and smoked. But the
point is; my nephew's dream ended just as abruptly as flipping a light
switch. And all of our hopes for his success ended the same way, viz: our
thoughts perished right along with his.

Consider all those people who perished in the World Trade Center, and in the
Japan and Indonesia tsunamis, and the Haiti earthquake. None of them
woke that day planning on it being their last on earth. No, on the contrary;
they had people to see, places to go, and things to do: but before the day
ended; whatever was on their itinerary lost its importance-- their priorities
went right out the window and became no more significant than green
cheese on the moon.

All their plans, their dreams, their schedules, their appointments, their
schemes, their problems, their ambitions, their loves, and their aspirations
went right down the tubes as they were suddenly confronted with a whole
new reality to cope with.

The fact is: Ps 146:3-4 doesn't mean that people cease to exist when they
die, nor do they lose awareness; no, it only means that whatever was on
their minds before they passed away is now null and void.

Death is the mortal enemy of human ambitions. It often casts its long
shadow when they set about planning their lives. The Scottish poet Robert
Burns noticed that life sometimes throws a curve ball that makes all your
careful preparations strike out instead of getting you on base.

He was working one day plowing in the field and uprooted a mouse's
underground nest who was all set for the oncoming winter. The mouse had
picked a fallow field as the site for its winter retreat thinking it would be safe
and snug; unmolested during the cold. But it didn't (or maybe we should say
it couldn't) know the workings of powers higher than itself-- in this case,
farmers and their machinery.

Mousie, you are not alone in proving foresight may be vain.
The best laid schemes of mice and men go often askew,
And leave us naught but grief and pain for promised joy.

Solomon's man under the sun feels there is no conscious existence for
people beyond the death of their body; whereas Christ taught that one's soul
doesn't necessarily perish with the body.

Matt 10:28 . . Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill
the soul.

According to Gen 2:7, the soul is what makes people sentient beings. Christ
assures us that part of human existence is able to survive the death of the
body; but it's still vulnerable to termination.

Matt 10:28 . . Be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in
hell.

FAQ: If the soul and the body are destroyed in hell; what's left?

A: The spirit.

According to Gen 2:7, the spirit is the life force that makes otherwise
inanimate materials sentient.

Christ's spirit survived the death of his body.

Luke 23:46 . . Jesus called out with a loud voice: Father, into your hands I
entrust my spirit.

People's spirit is just as much a component of their human existence as the
soul and the body; for example people currently survive in heaven without a
body by means of their spirit.

Heb 12:23 . . the spirits of righteous men made perfect

FAQ: Since the soul doesn't necessarily perish with the body, then what
became of Christ's soul when he passed away on the cross?

A: It was taken to Hades. (Acts 2:22-32)

FAQ: Isn't that where the rich man ended up per Luke 16:19-31?

A: Back in Jesus' day, Hades was the afterlife destination of all the dead: the
young and the old, and the bad and the good. Abraham and Lazarus were in
Hades too, but of course the accommodations in their sector were much
better than the rich man's-- they at least had access to water; he doesn't.
