There are over 52 separate verses and passages that speak DIRECTLY against hording riches.
I'm sorry you find the word of God tiresome.
And I'm appalled you find marks against your love of riches to be badges of honor.
And your specious arguments ... made, and refuted, time and again.
But why would I expect you guys to listen to me?
You won't even listen to God.
I find myself being in such a small group that does, to be a badge of honor.
Why do you insist on imposing Christian standards on unsaved people? Where did God tell you to accuse unsaved people of doing what unsaved people do?
Now if you want to rail against the mega-church bunch who are getting wealthy off fleecing the flock you will find much more credibility added to your argument. You could write a book and sell it for millions with sufficient religious marketing.

Perhaps you could clarify because the article you posted is from a secular news source.
I'm going to share with you fine folks a secret. There is a tried-and-true way to evaluate the health of the economy, and it has nothing to do with volatile rhetoric that is crafted for the sole purpose of angering people who would otherwise be content with their lives. It doesn't involve reading any reports from any "experts" that claim this or that, and you don't have to choose which "expert" to listen to and which "expert" you think is blowing smoke.
Ready for it?
Count the pet grooming salons.
Yup, that's all there is to it. Count the number of pet grooming salons in a fifty mile radius. Of course you have to pro-rate it by population density, but the number of pet grooming salons... don't look at me like that! I'm not being facetious, I'm actually dead serious. The number of pet grooming salons per capita in a given area is a good indication of how well off the people in the area are.
For example I drive past a pet grooming salon on the way to w*rk every day. It is doing quite a brisk business. Google gives listings for three pet groomers within ten miles of where I live, and I live in an area of lots of small towns. If we as a populace are doing well enough that we can keep that many pet salons in business, I'd say the economy around here is pretty good.
If the PGS (Pet Grooming Salon) scale seems too farcical for somebody, try the LDP indicator. Local Definition of "Poor" will tell you how people are doing in an area. If "poor" means you don't have the money to buy cans of beans for lunch, people are probably somewhat impoverished. If "poor" means you don't have the money for your internet/phone/cable bill, or to get the latest smartphone, this area has a good economy.
If y'all really are as hard up as the complaining indicates, come down to Southwest Tennessee. By both the PGS scale and the LDP indicator, we are doing quite well. And we have room for many more people down here. Of course we have our share of people who sit around and complain about rich people... but we try to ignore them as best we can.

First off let me say that was more a general response than one directed solely at you. Your post was just the launch pad.
Everyone sees the liberal agenda for the anti-God claptrap that it is. But they then turn around and embrace the republitards as "the party of God". But the only god republicans serve is money. And Christians need to be warned against the anti-god, money grubbing 'party of god' they embrace so fondly.
'Trickle down economics', supply side economics, or whatever you want to call it, is a purely republican ideology that DIRECTLY opposes God.
It's good that Christians don't buy into the lies of the left.
IT IS FAR PAST TIME THAT CHRISTIANS STOP BUYING INTO THE LIES OF THE RIGHT.
And that will only happen if those lies are exposed as the falsehoods they are.

Well we can talk about economic theory by I am pretty sure that what the Bible supports individual enterprise, innovation and individual liberty not oppression and forced redistribution of wealth.
If we follow Biblical financial principals, here would be no need for redistribution of wealth

It's funny, I have 52 verses against hording riches. I can post them in a thread WITHOUT A SINGLE WORD OF MY OWN, and people will STILL tell me I'm wrong and 'taking things out of context'. I'd be lmao if it weren't so sad.
Have you redistributed your wealth to the poor....given away all you have and live a pauper life following JESUS.....exactly....!!

and we are so thankful that God led us to do this - also, He later Blessed us with material goods,
such as 'land-home-money-and long life - here's the kick, we are both in our 70's, and still receiving

I do not see anyone here defending "hording riches".
What I do see is you condemning anyone and everyone that has worked hard and gained some wealth as being a part of those who are "hording riches".
While you are correct that consumers create jobs, you then demonize those "rich" folks that own those companies
that produce, distribute, and sell those goods that consumers buy.
God has always blessed some with wealth.
Just because a man has some wealth does not automatically make him evil.

Amen......I know all about it.....I have always been generous with what I have, and when I downsized and moved where I am now I opened my home and gave away everything I had to my poor neighbors........
Look at the thread under this one....either ripping the wealthy and or Republicans........on top of Democrats
