i agree; it is funny how they like to quote, 'not one jot or tittle shall pass away' -- and then remove more than half of the jots and tittles themselves.

that's not necessarily 'funny' in a humorous way. in fact it's honestly depressing.
In order to work at the law it has to be watered down. Jots and tittles have to be taken away.

There is no way to work at the law without doing EXACTLY what the Pharisees before them did. Making the things they think they do REALLY important while making the things they think they cannot do as trifles that can be done away.

Its actually these workers at the law that have LESS respect for the law than people that admit that they couldn't do it and HAD TO come to Christ for His Help and receive rest.

Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Ask any legalist what this means and see for yourself.

But nobody can see any of this until after they come to Christ and the vail is removed from their hearts and minds.

If not for Christ and the Holy Spirit we would all be legalists and judaizers. Its the conclusion of the carnal mind. Nothing can sway the carnal mind from this "fact". As we have personally witnessed here multiple times from multiple people.

Galatians 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

Just be thankful, is what I keep thinking.

1 Corinthians 1:26-29
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.

I never would have figured any of this out on my own.

God demonstrates His own love for us in this:
while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
(Romans 5:8)
Actually a good answer, but it is an incorrect answer. You are still on first level interpretations. Too mechanical, too cerebral. Good intellect, but the word of God is Spiritual.

Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Christ is quoting this:

He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.
(Deuteronomy 8:3)

And it is in response to this
Matthew 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
Matthew 4:2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
Matthew 4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

Copy and pasting passages verbatim of what Christ said then repeating it exactly as shown isn't making a claim. It's reporting.

Luke 18:18,20,22
18 Then a certain ruler asked Him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

20 You know the commandments: ’...

22 You still lack one thing: Sell everything you own and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”

Matthew 19:16-17, 21
16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

17 and he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

Mark 10:17-19, 21
17As Jesus started on His way, a man ran up and knelt before Him. “Good Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

18“Why do you call Me good?” Jesus replied. “No one is good except God alone.

19 You know the commandments...

21 Jesus looked at him, loved him, and said to him, “There is one thing you lack: Go, sell everything you own and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me

I've added no words of my own.

Simple question: What was Christ's answers to the ruler's question about how to attain eternal life?

Are you immortal? Do you sin?
If you sin you are not immortal, or else you would be sent to hell fire.
There is no forgiveness for immortals if they sin, only eternal torment.

The apostles said time and again, we stumble, we fail, but if we confess, Jesus will forgive.
I wonder if people understood the standard of immortality, being God dooms them within
a short period of time.

Immortality is a kind of blasphemy, if one is not Jesus or perfect. It is equating perfection
with evil behaviour so desecrating the giver of immortality.

So maybe those who claim the spirit upgrade to immortality should face the justice of
such a promotion. Or in mercy and grace should there ignorance be overlooked and repentance
accepted before judgement falls?
Is a sinning immortal really a demon, equivalent to a fallen angel?
One should take great care and not take Gods word and add things from arrogance when faced with
such an awesome powerful God who is slow to anger, abounding in love, but can be provoked.

8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.
Psalm 103

Greetings FHS,

Haven't seen you in a while. Are you doing okay?

what law was broken by a coin in a fishes mouth being used to pay the temple tax?

what law was broken by feeding the hungry?

what law was broken by seeing Nathanael under the fig tree before Philip called him?
Thanks for bring my attention to my error. Obviously it was the miracles where He got in the faces of the Pharisees, I should have said. ;)

You don't know the scriptures. Christ said if you have two coats give one away. He didn'tsay give both away. This is why the Holy Spirit is needed because otherwise one starts operating exactly like the pharisees condemning others for violations of the law when they clearly don't understand it well enough to make judgment.

Paul had money to travel and to pay for his brethren taking the nazarite vow. He had a job making tents to earn money. Are you claiming Paul didn't obey Christ too?
Just jumping off this post, Wow, very humbled by your words earlier about how you live, not surprised I've been reading your posts since, what, is it 5 years now? (I'd have to go back and look), and witnessed your character. Just wanted to say keep being encouraged my friend! You set a fine example for us all. If we are walking like Messiah the world will hate us. So every fiery dart aimed your way, take courage and smile it will be more than worth it!

Would it be against the Laws of God to post to this site if you are on a job and are being paid to do work other than posting to this forum? If so what would it be?

Thou shalt not steal?

What else?

I will be the first to admit that it is easy to overlook the obvious infraction when our zeal is up. Above reproach is the thought.

Matthew 4 is incredibly complex. it's not there to tell you all to put yourselves under the Sinai covenant; it's there to teach you who Christ is and what is His work.
Is it OCD??

Seriously, IT"S NOT THERE TO TELL YOU ALL TO PUT YOUR SELVES UNDER THE SINAI COVENANT"??????????????? Are you disseminating this  too?

Do you see how this is as a willful, continual, even habitual sin to continue teaching a "LIE" "as truth" that being " some one can be under or be put under a law that has been removed by the very shedding of the Blood of Christ? It doesn't scare the bejeezus out of you? Have you gone and counted how many times one side of the "debators" bring up the law of Moses vs the ones who bring up the law of the kingdom, the law of love, the New Covenant? Talk about falling backwards, the only law you all see it the law of death and condemnation.

I will say it again and again and again,

I love the law that brings forgiveness and life and righteousness and justifies me. The one of promised salvation, and sanctification, and takes away death, and pays the penalty for my sins, and washes me clean and leaves me with the spirit and writes on my mind and upon my heart and directs and guides me on the narrow path to holiness, and makes it possible for me to produce better and more acceptable fruit of the Spirit, feeding off that root of the Lord every day, and I work and do the will of God spreading His word.

That Word, so much more that eternal love and salvation but all about who He is. and what He has done for us. and how He watches over us, and WHAT He wants from us. and how we know those things because it is written in His word and in His word is the law and the prophets and how the laws were the schoolmaster, in other words the knowledge and wisdom God wants us to have so that we may know Him, so we may know the way to become more Christ like ourselves.
Christ as followed perfectly those laws perfectly, To that I aspire. NO, not to the laws Christ him self followed, but to the Law Christ left for me to follow. And though I know as a sinner, and I will not never ever be perfect like Him, I know with the help of the Spirit He sent me, I can try to be the best I can, and maybe some day He will say to me, Well done, my good and faithful servant.

I can be more loving. I can produce more fruits of love, I can be more charitable, I can be more kind and that kindness should become so strong that that is what people think of me. I can when I feel my flesh says "I shall rage", grab the spirits hand and say "thank you" for that, and yes, I shall forgive. I can fight that feeling of something "unjust" remembering I was told "vengeance is mine".

All the laws that are written on my heart, come in handy hourly, as I must stab to death again and again thoughts and feelings produced from the fleshman that I was born into, that are not" Christlike". How do I know? The spirit convicts me, the law enlightens me, and the Word provides me a solution.

I see the progress made with the help of the spirit, following those laws working in me. When I truly began this journey, I was stabbing my flesh by the minute. I know just as Jesus fulfilled the law He had be given to follow, I am going to do my best to fulfill the law Jesus left for me to follow. It is the law of the kingdom of God. It is a law of love and life and I love and live it.

I want to have the same inner thoughts and feeling towards my brethren as my Lord and Savior did. The kind that even when it gets tuff, you continue on and persevere doing the things that are right.

God sent the son knowing we are sinners, and loving us despite it. Seeing the good in us. Like watching babies grow. Stumbling in those first few years, getting better at the walk as we go. Soon being sure on our feet as we are able to skip and jump. The law is like that. In the beginning feels foreign to the "new creature man" So much to do. Getting drunk was fun, we tone it down to drinking, don't want to be a drunk. Why? The law. The spirit working those laws. God doesn't like a drunk. One day years later without really doing anything but living in the word, we find, we barely drink at all. The Word does for us what "a drunk" used to do.

For us sinners He shed that blood and paid that price. My Spirit weakens to my flesh, I sin. I have broken the law. My heart and my mind hurt. My soul knows that in this state that I am right now, God can not hear me. I am unclean. BUT WAIT, super good new. Yes, I have broken the law where once upon a time having done so I would have had to carry it with me up until the day of atonement to be make clean the same law that carried with it death, The same law that was made into such a burden I could hardly keep it. The law where had I died, would have meant death, LIKE I SAID BUT WAIT,:love::love::love::love: I HAVE THE GRACE OF GOD. I HAVE RECEIVED THE BLOOD. MY LORD AND SAVIOURS BLOOD. I HAVE A HIGH PRIEST. RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW THIS VERY MOMENT. I CAN ASK FORGIVENESS AND BE WASHED CLEAN AGAIN. CLEAN AS THE DAY I WAS BAPTIZED. I HAVE BEEN SET FREE. TO LOVE GOD, NO FEAR OF DEATH, NO FEAR OF REPRISAL, NO FEAR OF KEEPING "THE WHOLE LAW" I AM FREE TO FALL, AS LONG AS I KEEP MY EYE ON THE LORD AND FOLLOW HIS WILL.

I AM walking more Christ like every day because of that glorious law written on my heart and mind that along with the Spirit, makes me secure in knowing that God could say of me someday, What do you think of my servant D.

It is another proof of;

Mat 24:12-13 KJV And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. (13) But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

In general terms our culture was one of responsibility and respect. Many did it to preserve their Jobs or friends or family etc, but many more were raised to;

Ecc 12:13 KJV Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Do you think that we have neglected "Keeping His Judgements" in most of the matters of sin in our culture to the point that people feel they can simply sin with impunity? Many times our judgements, such as firing someone will cost us personally, but will, across the board, benifit the person we Judged and society who will benifit from people who might have matured from the experience.

The blood sacrifices applied to the mercy seat on the ark of the covenant by the high priest once a year served as a atonment ( a covering) for the sins of the people. The sins were not taken away only covered until He who was able to make a perpetual offering came forth. So is it just that I receive chastisment and then forgivness? . If I recive chastisment I am delt with as a son .My childern when they were very young ,and into all sorts of mischief, knew there would be consequences. They would some time say they where sorry trying to avoid discipline however if it was serious enough that discipline was needed discipline was given. After discipline they never ask me to forgive them. Why should they after disicpline they where free of the gilt. Because you are a child of God you may ask for forgivness but I can assure you discipline will come.
So are you saying that when Jesus died the three days He was in the tomb He spent going back to the time of Noah, to offer salvation through Grace to all who died under the law, once again ensuring that God can be nothing but Just? Are you also saying that God will chastise those He loves and you should say thank you and count your blessings when ever He does? AND if I have not welcomed you I apologize and say Welcome

And that is this:

Exodus 16:3 And the children of Israel said to them, "Oh, that we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat [and] when we ate bread to the full! For you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger."

Which is also this:

Exodus 17:3
And the people thirsted there for water, and the people complained against Moses, and said, "Why [is] it you have brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?"
