Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem one and thirty years.
And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the ways of David his father, and declined neither to the right hand, nor to the left: for in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father

No 8th day.
It is not an additional day that affects the Seven day cycle. Nor does it nullify the Sabbath.

There remaineth therefore a Sabbath keeping to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
(Heb 4:9-10)

Two things mention in verse ten. A rest which is the Gospel and a ceasing from work as God did from His. If One enters into the Gospel Rest he also ceases from his own work as God did from His. As God did from His. And That as God did from His, was and will forever be the Seventh Day Sabbath

But if she be cleansed of her issue, then she shall number to herself seven days, and after that she shall be clean.
And on the eighth day she shall take unto her two turtles, or two young pigeons, and bring them unto the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
(Leviticus 15:28-29)
And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, came behind Him, and touched the border of His garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
(Luke 8:43)
And He said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.
(Luke 8:48)

Abdon the son of Hillel, a Pirathonite, judged Israel.
And he had forty sons and thirty nephews, that rode on threescore and ten ass colts: and he judged Israel eight years.
(Judges 12:13-14)
Abdon means 'Servant' -- his 70 sons and nephews ride upon the colt of an ass.
Pirathon means 'Prince' or 'Apex' -- the city of the prince or the city on high.

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: He is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass!

there is a lot of background material you need to know before you can understand the significance of 'eight' and 'eighth' in scripture.
the law is spiritual, and the words of the Son of God are spirit.

when you do not know what it is you are reading, you can hardly discern anything from it but error.

8mod(7) = 1

you also must know what "1" means, and "1st"

as i said, there is a lot of background material you need to learn before you are able to hear and understand what i have to say.

How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity?
and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

What are you 12? That is just a shallow attack and post that does not even address the factual points given in the post you responded to.
I don't know what is worse. Your non Christian responses or the fact that three or so people who profess Christ patted you on the back for it.
The fact that your so called friends here who are suppose to be Christians continue to see your non Christian responses and do not recognize it and rebuke you for it, but pat you on the back is quite telling of their spiritual depravity also.

Address the points of the post or move on please.
I showed what your intent is. Wishful thinking, twisting scripture, circular reasoning to resume working at the law.

Then I showed why your incorrect version of the scriptures lead you to continue in your circular reasoning.

Sabbath MEANS rest. There is a Rest left to the people of God.

For he who has entered into Rest has also ceased from his works as God did from HIS.

Is this Rest then to look back at the law and continue to work at your understanding of it? NO.

Otherwise Rest is not Rest. It is work.

Rest is to come to Christ and receive Blessing for what HE has done (FULFILLED THE LAW) and cease from your work at the law as God has ceased from His Work.

Galatians 3:24-25
24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

How are we no longer under the law? Because we received REST from Christ.

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

How are we no longer under the law but under Grace? Because we received REST from our work at the law from Christ.

Rest is NOT looking back to the law to follow it in your own understanding and in your own strength. Rest is CEASING from your work at the law. Rest is CEASING from looking back to the law to work at it in your own understanding and strength.

I know none of the legalists or Judaizers states it that way. But that is EXACTLY what they do. They look back to the law (10 commandments) and then JUSTIFY their work at it. And then attempt to belittle people who DON'T work at what they work at. And then wrestle and twist scripture to make it appear as if working at the law is REST and the Gospel of Christ.

Its a mockery and a farce. Of course you don't want a Christian to call it what it is. It might get other Christians to actually understand what is going on here if we use simple terms that everyone can understand.

Legalist - someone that looks back to the 10 commandments to work at them in their understanding and in their power and strength.

What would be your definition of legalist or Judaizer? A judaizer pretty much does the same thing. But a Judaizer adds other jewish things to it as well like clean and unclean foods and perhaps some more festivals and other such jewish traditions.

No circular reasoning. Address the points please.

Two things mention in verse ten. The Rest which is the Gospel and the Sabbath keeping which God participated in. The ceasing of work is in addition to the Rest before mention. Something else that needs attention is the fact that the ceasing from work is "as God did". Only one mention of God ceasing from work in the Bible and that is at the completion of Creation. It was a Physical ceasing from physical work. That was on the Seventh day of the week. And that would be as God did.

There remaineth therefore a Sabbath Keeping to the people of God. For he that is entered (past tense) into his rest, he also (in addition) hath ceased (past tense) from his own works, as (just like) God did from his.

I have a response-

many times I have asked you if one has to keep the Sabbath to be a Christ follower. you either never answered , or gave a dodge.

even when I directly told you that you teach that one has to, you gave a non or dodge response.

so, since you have clearly stated in this thread that you do think ( wrongly, of course) that one DOES have to keep it, then i spoke truth about what you believe all along.

you apologize here, or just p.m. me to confirm that I was right about your silly beliefs.
