I know dementia. It strips someone away slowly. Who are we really? The defensive shell, the insecure not sure where I am, or the person of faith with love beating away? So there are many who rely on their doctrines, until Jesus comes to visit. Proving ourselves before the cross is always changed to humble worship. Thank you Jesus

I showed a week ago posts from peter jens and this user. And how they use the same format. The same words. And the same strategy,

He forgets, you stick around long enough. You will be known.. And you can only hide so much.. The lord will expose you. As also your true nature is not changed, it will always come out.

He just refuses to admit it, because he knows the moment he does. BOOM, he is banned again.
Its like a legalist who is struggling with some sin, who hides it, because he knows that the moment his churhc finds out his sin...BOOM he is gone..

One problem. You can’t hide it from god.

So when you preach righteousness, and yet live in sin, Your true self is exposed.
It is sad this invention about being banned and sharing.
Are you guys this naive to believe anyone who shares about their faith in Jesus, His love, repentance,
His cleansing and His healing in our hearts to enable us to walk in His ways is going to get banned?

I do not know why people get banned, it is between the administrators and each member.
Working faith, faith that produces fruit of works and the fruit of the Spirit is a gift of God, a beautiful
thing. When did Gods work and His effectiveness become a mark of evil? When did His work in your
hearts be not fruitful? Are you declaring that you personally do not have the fruit of love, joy and peace
in you?

Now in Christ I would trust if you have trusted Him, repented of your sins, full of the Holy Spirit and desiring
to follow Him we are brothers and sisters in Christ. Is there something I have missed? Is there a sense of
God did not chose you, or seal you, or be real to you, and give you His word and His power?

Now some will make enemies no matter what, and seek their mission to expose sin and evil which is not
there, but claim they have found it. But do not follow them, listen to Jesus and encourage one another in
Him and the fruit of the Spirit.

Our true selves in Christ is to bring glory to His Name, His word and His ways.
I thank Jesus He has brought each one hear to know Him and to share as one fellowship.
So let us do this, and share the wonders of knowing Him, and His blessing through each and every day,
Amen. Thank you Jesus

Using your interpretation of scripture I can only hope that when I passover I have had time to do my last penitence. Otherwise all is lost because of one sin. Christians who strive to be good in Gods eyes seem always to be conflicted. He who is free in Christ is free indeed.

Then may I please ask one yes or no question?

No need for a long explination.... only a couple seconds...

two letter or three letters.

Have you ever had an account on christianchat that was banned?

Yes or no?

I will never ask again after this and I will believe what you say.

I know I would have told the truth even before I was delivered from my false understanding.
Did he ever answer?

The gospelway website is operated by the church of Christ (Campbellism) and they pervert the gospel by teaching salvation by works with a heavy emphasis on water baptism (which explains why you were drawn to that article). Like other works-salvationists, Campbellites confuse descriptive passages of scripture with prescriptive passages of scripture and justification with ongoing sanctification. The end result is salvation through faith PLUS OBEDIENCE/WORKS.

Would you be interested in what the gospelway website has to say about speaking in tongues? ;)

Tongue-Speaking and Miraculous Gifts of the Holy Spirit

What modern "tongue-speakers" utter is gibberish that no one present understands, themselves included. There is no evidence they speak any existing language, and studies have shown that they do not speak any known language. Of all the millions who claim to have this gift today, rarely does one find anyone who even claims to speak a human language they have not studied. The reason is obvious: if they made the claim, they could be easily tested by calling in someone who knows that language! If people claim they know someone who spoke a known language, it is always someone long ago or far away. It is impossible to get witnesses who can be checked out (John 8:17). It follows that, despite their claims, modern "tongue-speakers" do not have the same gift that was received by the apostles in Acts 2 and is described in other New Testament passages.

Personally I could care less who was banned.

You said let your yes be yes and your no be no.

You said liars will not be in heaven.

That's nice, but you also said you would answer anything you can.

I asked one yes or no question maybe 15 times.

Has any account that you have posted with on cc been banned?

Then you logged off and avoided the question.
I hope you know I do love you... even if you were the man who used to encourage me to march in the wrong direction.

No matter how we argue I truly want what's best for you.

I worry for you and have prayed for you.....

May you see exactly what God wants you to see
Lying

Let your yes be yes and your no be no.
Everything in our faith is based on words. In fact our whole lives use words to describe
and deal with all our relationships and issues.

So lying and being accused of it is serious. Paul said liars will not inherit the Kingdom.

I have asked you more than a dozen times if you posted under these user names. I did not say you are them, only that your doctrine is the same.

You even laughed at me originally....

I asked "are you be any chance this person who spoke like you did and got banned twice?"

you reply with something "Have I not said this is my only account?"

Then I say something like "Well coming from a sinless perfectionist background, one of the things done to justify ourselves is talk in a specific way to omit truth we would rather not admit.... I did not ask if this is your only current account, I asked if you ever used another account that was previously banned..."

you then laugh

post the sunglasses face

and never once answered me yes or no

you are not direct....

from my perspective you speak with guile... try to be cryptic

talk around questions rather than address them

then give yourself so much praise and double talk

first accusing others of saying "if you disagree with me you are false"

only later to say "if you disagree with me you disagree with Jesus"

You do not appear sincere to me...

If you were indeed peterjens

then we have shared many pms

...

you gave me rep points and encouragement for a false gospel when i was a works salvationist

if you are not this person who was banned multiple times

then i am sorry for me asking so many times

but i have never felt as if you answered me

even now

the "i dont know what youre talking about nor will i discuss"

feels to me the you dont know refers not to the accounts but the lies of that man who may not be you

and the nor will i discuss refers to wether or not you were ever under a previously banned account

again if i am wrong in this belief, not accusation

i am sorry

i really am

no one deserves imputed falsehoods

but... i am not sorry for addressing your errors in Gods word or when you double talk

All I wanted is a yes or no.

Not some long winded huge post which avoids any sort of real answer to what I ask you.

(which is all I have ever recieved when asking you questions😕)

I will answer what I can, but time is limited as well as I have no obligations to do anything here.

Nah, I do not expect a direct answer from him.

I will drop it entirely now.

If he does not care enough to answer a yes or no, there is no point in ever reading another one of his posts.

God bless you Eg if you decide to continue to engage with him.

I noticed that Waggles never did address this post.
I was with a bunch of people in a prayer group that believed that speaking in tongues was the ONLY sign of receiving the Holy Spirit.

I refused to fake anything, however. If I were to receive the Holy Spirit from God I had to know it was from Him and not something I was making up inside myself.

So, when I was told I was given the Holy Spirit through faith and the laying on of hands I was really internal about it.

I spoke a word that I didn't understand and I didn't tell anyone out loud what it was. I was just kind of whispering it.

So when I got home I googled the word that I spoke. It ended up being the name of a person in the middle east.

I didn't consider this really the gift of tongues since it was only one word. I received a couple other words in prayer a while later but never a whole language. I still only have those couple of words...

I googled those words as well but got no result for them. So I figured those words were for me and not for anyone else.

I tried to remain open to receiving a foreign language supernaturally but it never really happened.

With all that being said I don't think the gift of tongues is the ONLY sign of receiving the Holy Spirit. I don't even think that most people who speak in "tongues" actually really do have the gift. And the reason why I say this is because of that same prayer group. When I would be praying silently those people who were faking the gift would interrupt my prayers and cause distraction.

But.... There was this one lady who was quieter than all the rest when I would concentrate only on her words I would start to be able to pray again without distraction and without interruption. It was like what she was saying was helping me to pray to God while the others were stopping me from praying to God.

So I figured that she was probably the only one in the room that truly had the gift. And the others just didn't want to feel left out of the group.

I had to really explain a lot of this to my wife because she believed that because she didn't speak in tongues that she didn't receive the Holy Spirit. I showed her in the bible that the gift of tongues was the LEAST of the gifts.

I don't think that a lot of people are really honest about this because the implications are if they don't speak in tongues then they don't have the Holy Spirit and they are not saved... according to their own theology.

Is salvation conditional on choosing to believe and follow Gods Word?

Hi all, just wanting to hear your thoughts, as I have been reading some scriptures of late all through the OLD and NEW Testament that suggest that the fruit of our faith in God's Word determines what we do and making salvation conditional on both BELIEVING what God says and following what God says.

THE LITTLE WORD IF DEMONSTRATES IN BOTH THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT HEBREW AND GREEK SCRIPTURES THAT SALVATION IS CONDITIONAL ON FREE WILL TO CHOOSE TO BOTH BELIEVE AND FOLLOW (FRUIT) GOD'S WORD (present tense) OR NOT TO BELIEVE AND FOLLOW GOD'S WORD.

OLD TESTAMENT (Not definitive)

IF (Hebrew) *H518; אם;'im; A primitive particle; used very widely as demonstrative, lo !; interrogative, whether ?; or conditional, if, although ; also Oh that !, when ; hence as a negative, not: - (and, can-, doubtless, if, that) (not), + but, either, + except, + more (-over if, than), neither, nevertheless, nor, oh that, or, + save (only, -ing), seeing, since, sith, + surely (no more, none, not), though, + of a truth, + unless, + verily, when, whereas, whether, while, + yet.

We must do well according to Gods' Word (believe and follow) in order to be accepted...

GENESIS 4:7 IF (conditional) you do well, shall you not be accepted? and if you do not well, sin lies at the door. And to you shall be his desire, and you shall rule over him.

Consequences for not believing and following...

GENESIS 20:7 Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for you, and you shall live: and IF (conditional) you restore her not, know you that you shall surely die, you, and all that are yours.

EXODUS 4:23 And I say to you, let my son go, that he may serve me: and IF (conditional) you refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay your son, even your firstborn.

Blessings for believing and following...

EXODUS 15:26 And said, IF (conditional) you will diligently listen to the voice of the LORD your God, and will do that which is right in his sight, and will give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases on you, which I have brought on the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that heals you.

LEVITICUS 26:3-5 [3], IF (conditional) you walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; [4] THEN I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. [5], And your threshing shall reach to the vintage, and the vintage shall reach to the sowing time: and you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.

LEVITICUS 26:14-18 [14], But IF (conditional) you will not listen to me, and will not do all these commandments; [15] And IF (conditional) you shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that you will not do all my commandments, but that you break my covenant: [16], I also will do this to you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. [17], And I will set my face against you, and you shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and you shall flee when none pursues you. [18], And IF (conditional) you will not yet for all this listen to me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.

There are too many more to write so may stop here for the Old Testament scriptures and maybe post some more latter.

..............

NEW TESTAMENT (not definitive)

IF(Greek) *G1437; אםἐάν; ean; a conditional particle; in case that, provided, etc.; often used in connection with other particles to denote indefiniteness or uncertainty : - before, but, except, (and) if, (if) so, (what-, whither-) soever, though, when (-soever), whether (or), to whom, [who-] so (-ever)., See G3361.

God's forgiveness is conditional...

I JOHN 1:9 [9], IF (conditional) we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

MATTHEW 6:14-15 [14], For IF (conditional) you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: [15], But IF(conditional) you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Being a disciple we must follow what Jesus says...

MATTHEW 16:24 Then said Jesus to his disciples, IF (conditional) any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Conditions for inheriting eternal life...

MATTHEW 19:16-19 [16], And, behold, one came and said to him, Good Master, what good thing shall I DO, that I may have eternal life? [17], And he said to him, Why call you me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but IF (conditional) you will enter into life, keep the commandments. [18], He said to him, Which? Jesus said, You shall do no murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, [19], Honor your father and your mother: and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

JOHN 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: IF (conditional) any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

JOHN 8:24 I said therefore to you, that you shall die in your sins: for IF (conditional) you believe not that I am he, you shall die in your sins.

JOHN 8:31-32 [31], Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, IF (conditional) you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed;[32], And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

JOHN 8:39 They answered and said to him, Abraham is our father. Jesus said to them, IF you were Abraham's children, you would do the works of Abraham.

JOHN 8:51 Truly, truly, I say to you, IF (conditional) a man keeps my saying, he shall never see death.

God only hears those who are following His Word...

JOHN 9:31 Now we know that God hears not sinners: but IF (conditional) any man be a worshiper of God, and does his will, him he hears.

JOHN 14:15 IF (conditional) you love me, keep my commandments.

JOHN 15:10 IF (conditional) you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.

JOHN 15:14 You are my friends, IF (conditional) you do whatever I command you.

JOHN 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, IF (conditional) a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our stay with him.

JOHN 15:6-7 [6], IF (conditional) a man abides not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. [7], IF (conditional) you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done to you.

Ok once again too many to list and may post some more latter..

............

QUESTIONS

Q1 What does it mean to believe in God?
Q2 What is saving faith?
Q2 Is salvation conditional on BELIEVING AND FOLLOWING God's Word or just believing it?

I'll answer the last question.

It is BOTH. A true believer will follow God's word. However, he is eternally secure. God works within him to follow his will.

It is false believers who try to separate those two.
