When I say Decisional regeneration, I mean the tendency to "make a decision", (often no more than an act of the intellect and human will) like saying a prayer, or walking down an aisle, or to a baptistry, as the way of salvation, instead of heart faith that is the result of the Power of the Holy Spirit.

Preach the Gospel, God will draw, people will come.

We don't need to use human reason or gimmicks to get people to come to Christ.
What is the gospel tho bro?
What is the gospel we preach?
Do we preach the gospel or walk the gospel?
Does our words preach or our walk preach?

Should be both

The Gospel is that Jesus died for sins, rose from the dead

God calls all men everywhere to repent

Whoever believes/trusts Jesus will be saved/have eternal life

Well the way we bite and devour one another around here doesn't preach the Gospel.

Not saying I'm guiltless. But many of us need to think about it.

And if you need to repeat that prayer of salvation do it.

Faith is not merely an intellectual exercise, nor is it merely an act of the will. It involves mind, body, soul, spirit, and heart, and is effected only by the drawing power of God. Regeneration is not baptism, not a creed, not a decision to turn over a new leaf, not a profession of faith, not saying a prayer, doesn't happen via baptism, is not produced by human will, it is entirely a work of God, the New Birth when someone believes, which itself is a gift of God.
I hate to tell you but this paragraph has some contradictory ideas and some is illogical too.

So maybe @dcontroversal was right... what do you think?

What do you call it when God gives you the gift of faith?

Grace

So Grace comes before faith.

Grace primary cause

Faith secondary cause

and then we have this one

ALL faith and faith alone brings salvation...

But faith never comes to the party alone, without friends.

So you know it gets very confusing and dare I say contradictory??:unsure:

Maybe you should make up your mind.

Such as..,?

Give examples. Don’t just throw assertions around.

Where’s the contradiction and illogic?
Well I am giving you a chance to clarify, sometimes we type in haste... so you do have some Calvinist leanings then from what I read in that post?

Ummmm... hmmm

Number one, you took the faith quote out of context. Read the quote in context to the quotes around it.

Secondly, I did not say faith alone saves. I said faith alone brings salvation. In the context of Budman calling me a works salvationist. Totally fldifferent context than DC’s statement, wouldn’t you say?As in only condition for salvation See John Rice quote post 109,834

Where do you see Calvinist leanings? Are you sure you’re not seeing biblical leanings

Actually, the faith Alone brings salvation was taken out of context by you, because the context was basically Budman spouting antinomian liscentiousness, and I was saying that faith alone brings salvation, in other words the only condition for salvation, but that faith never comes alone.

You whiffed on that one

That’s what i meant when I said faith never comes alone. Right there in the sentence and you missed it. 😀 Faith doesn’t come alone, but it’s the one thing required to bring salvation which is ALL OF GRACE. See John Rice quote post 109,834. Sums it up nicely

See your problem is you don’t read things in their context.

Nice try there. I thought you had me till I checked context

In other words, faith is the only thing we bring to the table. God brings the rest. That’s what faith doesn’t come alone, she brings friends meant. 🙂

Faith Alone brings salvation, but it never comes alone.

Not the same as faith saves

If I’m in a well yelling for help and a guy hears it and comes to my rescue, my yelling brought the means of my salvation, but was not the action that saved me

The guy that drew me out of the well savec me

Take another shot.

So was the guy trapped in the well saved by his yelling because of the guy that fished him out, or was he saved by the guy who fished him out because he heard him yelling

Point taken brother. Yes, I am a conservative, Bible believing evangelical Christian. 👍

That is what I meant by NOT FITTING IN WITH EITHER SIDE of that Rotten Argument.

What makes it ROTTEN? THIS VERSE:

Proverbs 6:16-19 (CSBBible)
16 The LORD hates six things;
in fact, seven are detestable to him:
17 arrogant eyes, a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that plots wicked schemes,
feet eager to run to evil,
19 a lying witness who gives false testimony,
and one who stirs up trouble among brothers.

True Calvinist's would say You have to believe all 5 points to be a true Calvinist.

AND Armenian's you are not a true Armenian, if you believe even one point of Calvinist Doctrine.

Most conservative evangelicals, do not believe either side of that ARGUMENT, has everything right.

That is why I say we BURIED that argument back in the early 80's.

WHAT IS CONSERVATIVE EVANGELICAL Style of a Church?

Evangelical means we BELIEVE the WORD of GOD was INSPIRED BY GOD HIMSELF through the HOLY SPIRIT, and was 100% correct in it's original manuscripts. It is Alive and Pertinent to Today as in every age of Christians.

Conservative:

We do not believe the Bible permits women to because Pastors.

We believe the Miracles were worked through the Apostles only and to Validate that the new words, were as much the WORD OF GOD, as the Old Testament.

The modern day so-called word of faith miracles are counterfeits, including tongues, faith healers, etc. We do believe that GOD will work Miracles in answer to PRAYER, and that we should ask ELDERS to pray for us.

We believe that the TEACHING OF THE WORD should dominate the weekly Worship Service, and not the Singing, tho both are important. So many Churches today focus more on ENTERTAINMENT, instead of teaching the Congregation the WORD of GOD.

Read the second, but it never comes alone.

What do you suppose I meant

Faith alone BRINGS salvation, NOT SAVES. It brings salvation. Like when I am stuck in a well and calling for help. My yelling brings someone to help me, to save me. But the yelling is not what lifted me out of the pit. The help that came did

And then I said, BUT NEVER COMES ALONE

Read the John Rice quote again. This in perfect agreement with what was written there

Perfectly compatible. No contradiction whatsoever

Now you understand why it is very difficult to engage him!
honestly i have no idea where we came from and where we are going and what is going on lolz

i just dont get it. i blame theologians for this over complicated. im too slow to understand the regeneration to grace to faith system. just believe the gospel and you're in how about it
