Your numbers are correct I got mine wrong. This still make a majority black vote in this jury,
My point is that among all the cases where racial bias could be used to demonstrate that black men are punished more harshly than white people, this case is not one of them. This woman was not let off easy because race. Maybe because she is a woman, they tend to get off easy for their crimes. At least get lighter sentences. Racism just does not bear out in this case. The majority of those who held the power in their hands to put this woman away for up to 28 years are black and they just chose not to. They came back with 10 years, so that's what she got. The prosecutor was asking for 28. So they had the opportunity to nail her to the wall, and just didn't do it.
I agree with your sentiments. In my opinion this woman only received 10 years because she’s a white, blonde haired female who almost borders on attractive, but not quite. Had she been an unattractive obese woman with dark raggedy hair I doubt she would be as fortunate.

I’m pretty sure she got off easy because of her gender. A cute lady, regardless of race, ain’t gonna do hard time like a man would have to. The female inmates who actually get incarcerated are therefore usually the worst of the worst. Whenever you gotta be dealing with them...make sure they’re cuffed accordingly and don’t even blink when looking at them.
Yes in fact they scare me too. And I used to dealing with ex cons.

As a man I am offended why do men get harsher sentences? Lol just kidding I don't see gender either. Most of the jury and judge was female.
Well that depends of course on one definition of God. I'm glad we dont have the Vatican or fundamentalist Muslim or LDS in charge. Not to mention Moonie's or the branch Davidians, Hindu ro Jim Jones followers running the show. I can see the founding fathers point but it got twisted. Possibly by Ole' Slewfoot himself.

Oh definitely much has been twisted since then. It was almost as if we was doing good into the early 1900s but a decline began in many areas especially Christianity. The Foundation of America and American law was Christianity.

Constitutional law professor Edward Mansfield (1801-1880) similarly acknowledged:

In every country, the morals of a people – whatever they may be – take their form and spirit from their religion. For example, the marriage of brothers and sisters was permitted among the Egyptians because such had been the precedent set by their gods, Isis and Osiris. So, too, the classic nations celebrated the drunken rites of Bacchus. Thus, too, the Turk has become lazy and inert because dependent upon Fate, as taught by the Koran. And when in recent times there arose a nation [i.e., France] whose philosophers [e.g. Voltaire, Rousseau, Diderot, Helvetius, etc.] discovered there was no God and no religion, the nation was thrown into that dismal case in which there was no law and no morals. . . . In the United States, Christianity is the original, spontaneous, and national religion.

T]he teachings of the Bible are so interwoven and entwined with our whole civic and social life that it would be literally….impossible for us to figure to ourselves what that life would be if these teaching were removed. -TEDDY ROOSEVELT

America was born a Christian nation – America was born to exemplify that devotion to the elements of righteousness which are derived from the revelations of Holy Scripture. -WOODROW WILSON

American life is builded, and can alone survive, upon . . . [the] fundamental philosophy announced by the Savior nineteen centuries ago. -HERBERT HOOVER

This is a Christian Nation. -HARRY TRUMAN

Let us remember that as a Christian nation . . . we have a charge and a destiny. -RICHARD NIXON

President Barack Obama was the first President to deny this

April 6, 2009, during a press conference with the president of Turkey, President Obama said, "Although as I mentioned, we have a very large Christian population, we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values. I think modern Turkey was founded with a similar set of principles.”

Dr Ben Carson responded by saying

“We as Americans have certain beliefs and cultures that led us to the pinnacle of the world,” said Dr. Carson while speaking at the 8th Annual Defending the American Dream Summit on Friday in Dallas, Texas.

“One of those things is that we are a people of faith,” he said. “I know the president has said that we are not a Judeo-Christian nation. But guess what? He doesn’t get to decide that, we get to decide that.”

History decided that. The only way if we changed that is to literally destroy the Constitution, laws, and traditions that built it. This is why it is actually legal to teach the Bible in public schools because it is so deeply intertwined that to separate it from American history is to teach a false history.

The Bible being the most refreshing book during the debates on creating the Constitution.

If Christians in this country would realize this then we could be better equipped to combat the progressive secularists.

I would have give you a positive reaction if you hadn't quoted Wilson Hoover or Nixon. But like broken clocks they were Correct occasionally.

Could of listed more. Almost every President has made that claim. People just are not sure how the idea that we are a Christian Nation is defined related to the 1st amendment.

All of that said and how is this related. When secularists or Christians are making claims about the judge giving a Bible and speaking about Jesus and the brother shows the perfect example of loving your enemy and forgiveness for the sake of saving the soul.

We should be able to respond and defend such actions.

There are places for Restorative Justice .... however the courtroom is not the place.

Courtrooms are for the presentation of the facts of the case, not emotions or spiritual guidance.
I agree.
They courtroom is not the place for that kind of thing
If the judge wants to give emotional and spiritual guidance, she can schedule a jail visit on her own time
You’re preaching against self righteousness while treading the waters yourself. There’s nothing wrong with speaking out against an egregious act, followed by law-enforcement putting the focus on the deceased having marijuana in his home, followed by a light sentence for a murder conviction. Mark my words, she will be paroled in five years. Five years for killing a man who was sitting in his own home minding his own business. But I digress, no one supposed to be upset about that because you say so.
I also agree with this wholeheartedly. I've been saying this from the beginning. Why is the perpetrator getting more sympathy than the victims?
