This does not happen after the Rapture, but after the Millennium.
And some of the nations are listed in the prophecy of Ezekiel -- Russia, the countries around the Black Sea, Iran, Ethiopia, Libya, Germany, Turkey. But in Revelation 20, it would appear that the whole world is involved.
And [Satan] shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. (Rev 20:8)
God said He is going to gather all nations together against Jerusalem to battle and He will go forth and fight against those nations as He did in the day of battle, and the LORD my God shall come and all the saints with thee, which Jesus will come from heaven with all the saints to fight at the battle of Armageddon, and defeat the world and save Israel.
Which all Jews will be back on their land for the Gentile nations will see to it, and the man of sin, New Age Christ, wants them all back on their land, which God said He is going to gather the whole house of Jacob, all 12 tribes, and put them back on their land, and will leave none of them in the nations anymore, and they shall know the LORD their God from that time forward and He will never hide His face from them again.
God said He is going to make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people and anybody that burdens themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the earth is gathered together against her.
It will be all nations together that go against Israel which Jesus will fight the world, which the beast has power over all nations their governments, kindreds, and tongues.
But Gog might be Russia, and the northern area above Israel, mainly Caucasian nations although all nations are together.
And that is because the Bible says that the Roman Empire does not lose her dominion until Jesus puts down the world, and she shall devour the whole earth, tread it down, and break it in pieces, and the little horn, beast, comes from the Roman Empire, which the Roman Empire at that time will be extended to where all Caucasian nations are in agreement with each other, and is the power base of the beast, which they have the most advanced weapons and machinery, which arms shall stand on the part of the beast.
This plan will happen by way of the new age movement which has a false interpretation of the Bible based on the occult, and evolution, and people can still evolve provided by the New Age Christ in the future.
And they do not believe that the New Age Christ will help them to evolve until the nations come together as one to try to establish peace on earth so they are going about trying to make that happen.
Which there is United Nations, people pushing for the harmony of religions, and pointing out all the problems around the world, and controlled conflict brings about controlled change.
Since this is all nations together it will involve America as she is going along with the new age movement now and that interpretation of the Bible, while Trump claims to be Christian to keep them settled down, and the Pope siding with Islam to keep them settled down, and America in Arab countries.
Once the nations come together and the New Age Christ starts working in the world then they do not care if they rebel.
So they have to do this by peace for it has to be a cooperation of the nations, not forced, before the devil can work as the New Age Christ in the world, but it has to be for it is time for God to end this sin business on earth so He has to allow it to happen.
The world will soon be divided in to ten sections with a leader in each section, and they will rule for three and one half years, and then the beast will rule for three and one half years which God will turn Israel to the truth during those three and one half years.
Then the world will go against Israel which is the whole world, all nations, and then Jesus will come back with all the saints and defeat the world and save Israel.
The beast kingdom is referred to as Babylon, but the Bible says Babylon will never have physical dominion again, but her life was prolonged for a time and a season, which means her ways are still on earth, so the beast kingdom is Babylon in spirit for she represents the kingdom of man, and the occult, which is what the beast kingdom is about that do not acknowledge a personal God, but honor the God of forces, or the power of nature as their higher power, the evolutionary process.
America has a system like Babylon.
King Nebuchadnezzar acknowledged the God of Israel as the greatest God of all the gods, and proclaimed throughout his kingdom that if anybody said anything against the God of Israel shall be cut in pieces and their house made a dunghill, which Babylon rode on eagle's wings.
But the king's son blew it and the eagle's wings were plucked, and the kingdom was stripped from them and given to the Medes and Persians, and they became known as the kingdom of man.
America will blow it too and although Babylon acknowledged the God of Israel for a while she was still a heathen nation, and America we can see is a heathen nation that is involved in much sin, and allows all religions to be practiced there including Satanism, the occult, and the new age movement that shall deceive the world.
This is not true for when this battle happens in Ezekiel and 38 and 39 God does not put an end to the heathen but He leaves a 6th of the army and the kingdom restored to Israel which the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went in to captivity for their sins against God, but God was always on their side all along.
But in Revelation 20 at the end of the millennial reign God rains fire on them and devours them and does not leave any of the heathen left.
It is still considered Gog but in Ezekiel 38 and 39 it is before the millennial reign, and they go against Israel only, and in Revelation 20 it is at the end of the millennial reign, and they go against the saints both Jew and Gentile.
Eze 38:21 And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man's sword shall be against his brother.
Eze 38:22 And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.
Eze 38:23 Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.
Eze 39:1 Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
Eze 39:2 And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel.
God goes against them with pestilence, fire, and brimstone, an overflowing rain, and hailstones, and also He will let the world know that He is God for the mystery of God shall be finished.
And will leave a 6th of the world that He went against.
But in Revelation 20 He only goes against them with fire, and devours them and leaves none of the heathen left.
Also in the Ezekiel God will reveal Himself to the world as Jesus Christ because it is the beginning of the millennial reign, but in Revelation that is at the end of the millennial reign God does not have to reveal Himself to them for He for they already know who he is as Jesus Christ.
2 different battles but is still referred to as Gog for it is the same people before and after the milennial reign.
For if they are known as Gog before the millennial reign, and a 6th of them are spared and are in the millennial reign then they are known as Gog at the end of the millennial reign.
