lol...lol... Kudos...

They do live on the street... problem is the amount of human feces and rats are bringing back diseases that have once been eradicated in the U.S. The sad part is the majority of our homeless are drug addicts and mentally ill or elderly.

If I was going to lose my home or my car I would choose to lose my home because I could live in my car and still get here and there....

Many do not have such a choice!

I think if it was the govt they would take responsibilty, but if its the bank they can just do what they like with it, bust it down and build more banks I suppose.

I'm sure in the bottoms (what my neighborhood is called) where I live it was not an extra home.

Where are you from? Tell me about why people are homeless where you live....
 
At least car is warmish. Warmer than the streets. I wonder if theres a big mobile population now living in their cars and got nowhere else to go, like gypsies.

Houses are way too expensive for what they are. And land. I think its terribly unfair. Who invented the idea of mortgage anyway. Why not just live in tents like yurts or tepees or caves.

As for sanitation, if you bury your feces that is fine. But some people dont bother I suppose and live like dogs. Maybe they dont know any better. There are public toilets if you need to go. And you can go to the gym or public pools for a free or cheap hot shower.

So your homeless have enough to pay for a campsite, or break the law to go to jail, or if you are a woman you can get help?...

When people are homeless here it may be because they lost their job and cant afford the rent and got no family. Or they are running away from their family. There are not many state homes being built now, the number of ones avialable you can count on one hand, its all done privately now. So its market value rent whatever people can afrord to pay and some landlords charge through the roof.
Also wages are really low and some people cant afford to live on their total income, if they pay all the rent, electricity etc then they got nothing left for food. In city its more expensive as rates are higher.

Well yea they dont OWN a home but they can live somehwere. There are still some options. When you renting you dont actually have your own home you just live in someone elses. We had a great welfare system until it was all mucked up by progressive govts. We had state housing and you could rent to own. But that was years ago.

Most people cant actually afford a home of their own and are just staying with their families. Or if they do uy one, they will be in debt for years until they die pretty much. Thats why its called a mortgage.

Just live with my family. No dont own a home. Dont live in a car. Its good and weather is spring at moment so one minute was hailing next minute was sunny.

I suppose I am blessed to have a roof over my head as parents keep telling me. So far it hasnt caved in. What about you.
Going back to OP i was just thinking of someone I know who moved into a retirement village and just bought all her stuff with her which shes still sorting out. She was the type to never churck anything away and well you could barely move around in her old place. Her house was demolished and three houses got built on her bit of land, which she sold to move into the village. I dont know how she fit all her stuff into her new place which was abit smaller, but it was like the garage, you couldnt get in, it was full of stuff and she had to park the car outisde. She even had a campervan full of stuff. It was a three bedroom home full of stuff. But i suppose it was just a lifetime of stuff as shes a widow.

Another lady I knew from church was like that too but far far worse. Maybe if you live alone thats what you become. Her home could have been comdemned it was such a hazard.

I believe "hoarders" and this person(s) need prayer. Holding on to the past does not let us live in the here and the now. Many say hoarding is a mental illness, but I think spiritual too. Yes, there are some things we want to keep of our children, our husband/wife, but if we keep every newspaper from 1950 to date there is a void that needs filled. There is a void in everyone's life, people fill it with all kinds of empty things until they meet the Man that fills that void. We / all humans are hungry/ empty for God or Godly fellowship....

When my grandmother moved home to heaven, we threw everything out but a few pictures Pops wanted to keep. He wanted to keep it all, cloths, stupid stuff... We said no. Pops had support and Jesus. Maybe, people need a Christian family (even if not blood) and a backbone.... Every human needs love and people, we are the body of Messiah/Christ....
 
Yea I think prayer is good when people seem unable to let go of things.

Talking about newspapers my dad used to work for the newspaper, and he did keep old newspapers in the garage that were yellowing and they were of disasters like princiess diana dying and 9/11 . But archivists keep all those past newspapers now in digital format (used to be microfiche) theres no need for people to keep heaps of copies of newspapers.

I worked in archives for a bit but they keep everything in labelled boxes and have movable shelves. They dont just pile everything anywhere. And they keep things in acid free boxes and controlled climates. There are people who do spend their lifetime sorting stuff. But they find meaningful employment in musuems or writing history books.
