well i can say i do find it annoying only when people go in my face and try and force me to accept god but if you want any suggestions i say if your gona sing dont copy a popular song and replace the lyrics with the words of jesus fan boys / girls go crazy
Don't do it one on one. People hate that.
Get a big microphone and fire off a sermon into a crowd. People will listen if they want to. And even if they don't want to, they will listen.

preach the gospel, share the love light and lifestyle that jesus promotes. the whole hell fire and brimstone, repent or perish thing doesnt work! it makes people think youre crazy! fair enough they may still think that even if we share the good news but i believe that we are called to love people into the kingdom not push or scare them into it. love, accept, never judge and have a genuine care and concern for peoples individual lifestyles- its easy sometimes to see the multitudes and miss the one. x

i would say that you need to be careful shouting into a crowd. we have enough people here yelling that everyone is going to hell and the end times are coming. i would pray and ask God for opportunity to share the Gospel. when He feels you are ready he will put you in the situation. also, i dont want to put you down by saying that, but street preaching now a days may do more harm then good. although all things are possible through Christ. i would still pray about this, and focus on what to pray for. when sharing the Gospel of Christ we are to move from the inside out, start with fam and friends then our town, our city and then the world!!!! lol God Bless

You'll have to figure out how your going to do it, open-air or one-on-one. I personally prefer doing one-on-one. I don't like yelling into crowds.
I LOVE God and scripture, but I CAN'T STAND those loud, overly obnoxious "preachers" that go out onto college campuses and yell and scream and tell everyone they're going to hell. It's downright horrible PR for normal Christians who don't think or act their way. It makes people think that you have to be that way to be Christian and it's sad that THAT is one of the main reasons people don't turn to God. Because some crazy old man is allowed to preach his hatred and false doctrine in front of impressionable teenagers. It's sickening.

i think thats why its important to show the love of christ. as christians we are meant to be as christ like as possible, setting our standard of living to that of jesus. he had genuine compassion for people. he listened cared and never judged. to tell people theyre going to hell promotes an attitude that wrongly conveys that christians think theyre better or more worthy than anyone else. we are called to serve and put ourselves 3rd in all things. first god. then gods people. then us x

i dont have a problem going into crowds and talking, but its when you stray from the Gospel of Christ that it starts to get hairy. and its noones fault but your own. Paul and the disciples went and preached in town squares and main cities etc of Rome. they were beaten and tortured and imprisoned. Who are we to say that because of a few bad looks we should keep our mouths shut in public? We have the Holy spirit which the disciples did not, which allows us to have God IN us. not just with us. lets think about all that and use it to help us. we dont know when he will return, but what if it was tomorrow? will we be just fine with that? or are there people you havent shared the Gospel with?
Street evangelism can be an amazing tool if used correctly, i find music works extremely well, a live band singing Tomlin/Redman covers, aA few people on hand to discuss to hand out leaflets, talk to people etc,

This isn't the biggest gesture but my church did a completly free car wash one time. We wouldn't except donations and we gave out cookies and drinks while people waited for their cars to be finished. Some people went home and brought back two more cars and they were so thankful. It was a great opportunity to show them love without talking to them about God when they might not have been in the right mind set for it. Several people came to our evening service that night and I think a couple of them attend our church now which is huge blessing. And I can only hope we may have planted a seed in others. So you don't have to walk around washing strangers feet or preaching to spread the word, sometimes the more simple it is the more open people are to hearing and recieving love. So if you have a few friends who would do it with you this might be something fun to do and be an awesome way to give glory to God.

I may be repeating someone else, but I sort of disagree with this statement. I believe that we can witness to people one on one, if we use the right approach. And that approach is humility.
No one appreciates someone getting "up in their face" and being aggressive. However, a gentler approach, where you are obviously respecting the other person's space and right to privacy, may elicit a more positive response. Remember, we witness as much with our actions as with our words.
If you have access, many evangelical churches and organizations supply tools to use in "cold calling" (that's what it is); printed material of one kind or another designed to pique the person's interest in salvation. You can respectfully tell people what it feels like to be confident of your salvation, and invite them to read the literature if they think they might like to be confident too.
The literature (which should be short and to the point) should contain a telephone number where you can be reached, and a sincere offer to discuss any questions they may have with them. It would be advisable, too, to have a backup "expert" that you can call on if the questions get too difficult, but in most cases Scripture is sufficient.
In most cases, the response to this kind of approach will be one of five things; (1) people will politely refuse the literature, (2) people will take the literature and throw it away first chance they get, (3) people will take it, read it, and do nothing more, (4) people will take it and call you back, and (5) a person will ask you to talk to them right then (Praise God!).
In the case of items (1) through (3), you have to remember that it is your job to deliver the message. It is God's job to follow through on the conversion process. In the cases of items (4) and (5), even if you reach a fraction of the people you approach, the Kingdom of God is enriched through your efforts. In the meantime, you are sowing many seeds which may lead to a wonderful harvest somewhere down the road.
In case somebody should get the wrong idea, I must confess that I, myself, am painfully shy and would have a great deal of difficulty in following my own advice.

I would say that if you're going to do it then don't start shouting about the end times! Don't make it all doom and gloom because no-one will listen to you. Tell them the happiness that they can achieve if they only believe. You need to be positive about it and you alson need to find a suitable location like a town centre for example. Lastly DON'T block anyones way and DON'T try to talk to anyone individually unless THEY come to talk to you. I hope this advice is useful.
If you care at all about the salvation of others, PR would be something you might want to consider.
If the first preacher I heard was one of these crazies, I'd probably be like Buddhist right now. It turns people off so much when hate is spewed at them.

interesting point, however when thise message is given to the masses CORRECTLY, it can change lives. also the way you do it can also have a huge effect. why not stand outside and offer "free compliments" like this two guys did at their college. people walked by them everyday and they would say things like "great smile", "nice rain boots" etc. little did these people know they are displaying Christ in that he never took time to talk down to people but showed constant love and encouragement.

That is VERY different from the type of street evangelism I was referring to. It's one thing to stand on the street or on campus or something and hand out pamphlets and talk to people about God. It's another to yell at people and say "You're all whores and going to hell." That happens ALL the time on my college campus and I am so heart broken that pretty much ALL people who hear him are turned off from God.
