Do i think he can? Yes, DO I think he does? Maybe, DO I think we listen? No. It still does not mean we will know every sin.

Let me ask you. DO you know the whole word of God. Do you know every sin that is possible to commit? The HS will not force feed the word into you. If you are doing something you do not know is sin, Because you have not matured enough in scripture. The Holy Spirit can not help you

[/color][/size][QUOTE]IF...and I do mean IF...a person is always seeking to be obedient and live a Godly life, there will not be much, if any sin, because the life is lived with the understanding that repentence is a DAILY, if not hourly thing.

Do you know what the word repent means? It means a change of mind or heart. One can not repent daily, They either have repented (changed their mind about sin) or they have not. and disagree with God that a certain thing is a sin. The only way according to the definition of the word repent, one can repent daily, is if they learn daily that something they did not know was a sin, or disagreed was a sin, and changed their mind (repented) about that particular thing NOT being a sin against God. and now agree with God that it is a sin. That is the true meaning of repentance.

Just because someone may have repented concerning a certain sin, does not mean they will not be tempted and fall in that area. If they fall, they do not have to repent again, they already repented.

Now if your talking confession, the word fits. However to say one must do the work of remembering every sin, and making sure they confess that sin in order to have that sin forgiven is to preach a gospel of works. and makes one earn the GIFT god is offering mankind. which would make it not a gift. but a reward. and not freely given due to grace, but earned because of our work of confession. Anyone who thinks it is not a work to confess when you know you did something wrong has not went to a parent and had to let that parent know he committed a horrible crime (all sin is a horrible crime against God no matter how insignificant the sin may be to us).

Better yet, if we set our minds on the things of the spirit, we will not fullfill the lusts of our sin nature.

However, no one will be sinless. Thank God he did not give us a spirit where we again have to fear as a slave, but a God of love, where we can come to him as our "abba Father" knowing we have his complete forgiveness before we even came.

If repentnace of every sin after we sinned was essential for salvation you would be correct. But first, I doubt I know anyone who does not agree with God that murder is sin, and suicide is murder. so someone can not repent (change their mind) on something they already agree with God on. And second, Again, unless your preaching a gospel of works, which is no gospel at all. you should rethink your position.[/quote]

I'm not saying you should go off and kill yourself, but i do not believe that if a Christian commits suicide, it leads them to hell. Think about it, do you remember every little sin you've ever commited, when you stole that cookie from the cookie jar, how about when you told that little white lie? No, i know I can't, and i know for sure i'm a Christian. And even if you can't ask for forgiveness afterwards, Did Jesus not die for the sins we commit every day? Do you think His grace is not enough to cover this sin? Should we ask for forgiveness where we fail Him, absoulutly, but i know my many faults, and i know that sometimes i don't even catch i'm sinning, If i died before i could ask for forgiveness, does that mean i'm going to hell? I'm just saying, there's a little thing called Grace, and i'm sure that it can cover you after something like this. I mean, satan is always trying to get at us, and i know Christians, who at times, their life doesn't seem worth living, A laps of reason doesn't equal eternity in hell. These are my thoughts over this conversation!

VERY TRUE

FOR IF YOU ARE LED BY THE SPIRIT YOU ARE NOT UNDER LAW GAL5:18

WHY NOT?

FOR THE FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT ARE LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS AND SELF CONTROL. AGAINST SUCH THINGS THERE IS NO LAW GAL 5:22
However, no one will be sinless. Thank God he did not give us a spirit where we again have to fear as a slave, but a God of love, where we can come to him as our "abba Father" knowing we have his complete forgiveness before we even came.

Ok I do not know what happened with my last two posts. But something definitely screwed up. The second one should not be there..And I can not erase the second one..

Amen Sister!

Through study, in time you would get the understanding that suicide is a cop out, if you even consider what Christ went through. Though there is no passage that states it crystal clear, i would say the best scripture to contemplate on would be this one.

For better it is, to be a living dog; than a dead lion.

Forever in Christ

James 1:12

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

food for thought - Did samson commit suicide???

hmm to think about it maybe....but it did destroy the temple i think that God did not desire.....

well then friend think about Jesus.....was it suicidal....i think not for there was a purpose behind it.... but it can make people wonder

the scripture you are looking for is in Exodus, thou shall not kill, one of the ten commandments,I think killing oneself is classified as such.My pastor made a reasonable comment about that,a person that kills that is in their right mind is guilty but a person driven to such lengths can not be in their right frame of mind.I am not sure about such things,I think that only God knows such things but I do believe that we all are given grace through faith,Jesus loves them, rest assured and be at peace,God bless and keep you,AMEN

lol ok i know.....so what are you guys talking about.....i was talking about samson

maybe random answers?

And I must disagree with you.

1. Scripture tells us we are sealed by the spirit who is our guarantee until when? We lose faith? Not, It states clearly until the day of redemption (our resurrection or the day our redemption is made final)

2. Scripture states we HAVE eternal life. If this life we HAVE is not eternal. God lied by calling it eternal.

3. Scripture states that "no one" Which would include us since we are a someone" can separate us from the love of God.

4. Hebrews states that if someone could fall away, they could never be renewed to repentance (they would be lost forever with no hope of being saved again)

5. John makes it clear in his epistle that those who have departed did not lose salvation, they departed for they were "never of us, for if they were of us they never would have left, but they left, that it might be made manifest (Make known) they were never truly of us. Which means they might have said they had faith. But they really did not.

Which answers your point about one supposedly having faith, then turning away, or losing faith. I know it is hard for us, But God is omniscient, He knew us before we were born, He knew everything we would do, think or say from the time of our birth until the time of our death. To think God is going to give someone eternal life, who he KNOWS truly does not have faith, but just a mere belief (if that) and would one day will walk away (proving they never had faith) is like saying God does not know what he is doing!

As for me believing someone who states they have faith can blaspheme the spirit, Yes I do think so, I also think God knew it and would not have saved a person knowing he would do it (God has a perspective we can not fathom, he knows all)

As for risking eternal future. Paul states we do not have a spirit of fear. A child of God does not have to fear losing his inheritance given to him (one being eternal life) So ALthough yes, I can and do fear Gods chasticement when I screw up, I or anyone else should fear God will kick us out of his family. Anymore that a child would have to worry about a TRULY loving father kicking him out of his family for screwing up.

If we have to fear losing salvation, Paul lied when he said we were NOT given a spirit of fear.

Alright here is the deal ill make it short and simple... if you've been saved you are going to heaven no doubt about it ok..... alright now if you are saved i do not belive you will comit suicide.... you will find joy in the lord.... easy said on that part.....Suicide should never come in to play as a christian.......... but i do agree on another point about dying and going to hell over having sin in your life is totaly wrong.... i can't remmeber where but i know in the bible........ it says that all have sined and come short of the glory of God, and also it says if you say you have never sinned you are a lier..... and have basicaly sinned saying that..... can't remember where but i know it dosent make since....

food for thought - Did samson commit suicide???

Nope. Samson's "suicide" was actually an act of war, as he killed three thousand Philistines in his vengeance upon them (Judges 16:28-30). He died in his effort to kill others, as he said, "Let me die with the Philistines!" (Judges 16:30). It was not, like a typical suicide of our day, because of a lack of hope, or a deranged mind. He died with the Philistines to "take vengeance on the Philistines" for his two eyes (Judges 16:28). Plus, killing them as he did was the only choice he had.

Suicide is an act of murdering oneself, which is a sin, and it's impossible to repent of it to find forgiveness since there's no chance for repentance after death. The belief that once saved you won't go to Hell for any sin you commit is the biggest lie from Satan; it is clearly stated in the scriptures that those who walk after the flesh will not inherit the kingdom. Anyone that is having suicidal thoughts needs to sincerely ask the Lord for deliverance from such captivity.
Gal 5:19-21
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Note: I know this is a sensitive issue. It is not my intention to offend anyone. I'm just showing what the scriptures say.

Could you please explain this? Why did Jesus pray this after He has said this to HIS DISCIPLES right after His transfiguration and they down from the mountain and they can not cast a demon

Matthew 17

[SUP]17 [/SUP]Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.

Later Jesus then prays this the night He is to be betrayed,

John 17
17 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
[SUP]2 [/SUP]As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

Please note this is in the garden,Jesus says they are all His He has not lost a single one expect for the son of perdition. This is before all of the disciples flee and BEFORE PETER WILL DENY HIM THREE TIMES and Jesus knows that they will do it yet He stills prays the above, yet He still says He has not lost one of them. Not only that but Peter has implied that Jesus is lying about him denying Jesus. Where does the scripture show Peter repented of that BEFORE Jesus prays that prayer? Why does He say that even though He knows they will do what they are about to do? Can anyone show me where they had come to the point of "being" sinless at this point and yet Jesus says they 'kept" his words? What is the point that Jesus is trying to get across?

I must disagree with you on this one EG. In my opinion, the bible is clear that we can turn away from the faith and be lost.

The unpardonable sin is blaspheming the Holy Spirit, not rejection of Christ (Mark 3: 22-30; Matthew 12: 31-32). You may "reject" Christ as a youth, and yet accept Him later in life, being forgiven for the earlier rejection, i.e. it is not an "unpardonable" sin. The existence of an unpardonable sin should be evidence enough that Christians can be lost. Can you actually say that it is impossible for a Christian, who has ceased to live the faith, to blaspheme the Holy Spirit?

While believing that we can be lost, I am unsure of the effects of suicide. We know that Christ propitiates our sins before the Father, and that if we die with unrepented sins, that we are covered by Christ as our High Priest. Whether or not this includes sins against the body, which is indicative of a falling away from the faith, is questionable.

I would not want to risk my eternal future on it.

I cannot help thinking that someone who tries to kill themselves are not rejecting Christ, they are rejecting themselves. They are just be very, very desperate and ill. It does not mean they are not saved, it just means, for a myriad of reasons, they are unable to hold onto the gospel truths at that time. We are all on different stages of our journey and we all go through our 'valley's' some might not make it to the other side in this life but I believe they will go home to Him. Suicide is a desperate act, I would suggest those who do it are not in 'their right mind'. By what you have written, any 'sinful' act performed by a Christian would cause them to lose their eternal life. Suicide is just another sinful act yes...but no worse than any other. We commit sins against our bodies every day (where did I put that cheesecake...:) and suicide, although ultimately the most distressing to all those left behind and a very final act...is just another one. Christians get sick...Christians get depressed. Being depressed and suicidal is not a sin. Its a weakness yes....and we are all weak and broken at the foot of the Cross. <><
