What is a better way for the state to raise money towards education without the lottery or whatever the public need is?
1. FAIR TAXATION WITH NO DEDUCTIONS OR EXEMPTIONS
2. BALANCED BUDGETS
3. TOTAL ELIMINATION OF PORK BARREL SPENDING
4. TOTAL ELIMINATION OF WASTE
5. SPENDING ONLY ON ITEMS WHICH REQUIRE GOVERNMENT PARTICIPATION
6. TOTAL ELIMINATION OF BUREAUCRATIC NONSENSE (WASTED TIME = WASTED MONEY)
7. SEVERELY LIMITED BUT FAIR COMPENSATION TO PUBLIC SERVANTS
8. PERSONALLY FUNDED PENSION PLANS FOR PUBLIC SERVANTS
9. NO DEFICIT SPENDING
10. SETTING UP A SEPARATE EDUCATION FUND

The brewery should not be responsible because mankind is responsible for their decisions. If they choose to ingest a drink that is scientifically and statistically linked to addiction and all sorts of health problems then that is on them.

If the brewery was on the other hand false advertising their product as healthy then yes they should be held accountable.
They dont warn people that you can die from drinking it. They present it as something every man ought to drink. Also mankind is responsible for making the drink from the brewery, so its really on them for providing it.

When there were no hard drugs like P availabe in the country, it was actually a safer place and less people went to hospital with signs of really bad addictions. Maybe there were other drugs but they werent the scourge P is.

During prohibition era apparently people couldnt drink so they just went on cruises on international waters where they could, hence advent of 'booze cruises' and they also tried to hide their drinking. But I think children of that generation might have been safer because less parents were drinking and they didnt have easy access.

Nehemiah I would vote you as MP.

I want to give you a scenario, if you ran the country and you had $100 million to spend, what would the budget look like. What would you allocate spending to?

Not sure how it is in other countries but here in America they must by law put a warning.

Oh well done america. I dont think they do that here in nz its only for cigarettes. But they do have wet and dry areas and in dry areas you cant buy alcohol freely in supermarkets. I think all they do is out the lercentage of alcohol on the bottles. I dont know I dont drink but I dont remember reading any govt health warnings on wine or beer bottles..?

They say in america the drinking problem isnt that bad as its all watered down anyway. The bigger problems is with guns.

Gambling, beer, wine, tobacco are not sins. Addiction is. It's not the substances alone it's in the mind.
New International Version Acts 1:26
"Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias; so he was added to the eleven apostles."

They have all sorts of alcohol that has different Alcohol proofs. You can buy watered down or almost 100 proof. We still alchohol related problems but the biggest problem isn't guns but drugs.

If you compare the estimated gun ownership in America to gun related crime it isn't even close. If guns was a problem it would be extremely worse.

Our mainstream media is 90% liberal and they been wanting gun control/confiscation for decades. Most of the gun related crime was by a individual that obtained it illegally.

It just goes back to the Cain and Abel. God didn't blame the rock but punished Cain. A heart problem. That is what a country must address is the heart problem.

Yes Jesus drank wine. But gambling and tobacco? Not sure if gambling is good stewardship or tobacco is ever healthy even if not addicted. Body is a temple. If we sin or harm the body then we will reap what we sow either by disease, illness, or death.

The substance is not the sin. The behavior often becomes the sin.
What Defiles a Man
10) Jesus called the crowd to Him and said, “Listen and understand. 11) A man is not defiled by what enters his mouth, but by what comes out of it.” 12) Then the disciples came to Him and said, “Are You aware that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?”…
Berean Study Bible

I believe that the disciples made a mistake when they gambled and chose Mattias, Jesus had told them to wait for another. I think that was to be Saul/Paul. Not all mistakes are sins.

I know that Native Americans have traditionally used tobacco in folk medicines for centuries.

Yes the behavior is the sin but choosing to harm yourself or choosing to use what God blessed us with in a irresponsible or sinful way is bad.

There is a difference in smoking tobacco and using it as a ingredient.

Oh thought that was why you mentioned the native Americans to prove that tobacco is healthy. I thought you was confused on that I meant smoking it was bad.

Oh ok its just the mass shootings make the news more often than people dying from alcohol related causes or drugs. From the US anyway.

Here there is definitley a problem with alcohol, which is a drug. Just one of the more widely available ones. It does dull your senses and affect your judgement. In most cases, not for the better. And people die from it. All the time.

Anyone can buy alcohol if they are 18 or over. But young children are still affected by it cos older siblings just buy it for them. And the effects of it of course impact children. If mum or dad passes out they cant look after their children. Or they get violent. Its really bad. And they spend a lot of money on it, not exactly cheap. If you are buying it every week it adds up.

Crime is stopped all the time by law abiding citizens with a gun but our mainstream media doesn't report that. Nowadays we have to get our media from smaller more local services through the internet or else we only hear 1 half of the news.

In fact according to the CDC
The 15 leading causes of death in 2017 were:
1. Diseases of heart (heart disease)
2. Malignant neoplasms (cancer)
3. Accidents (unintentional injuries)
4. Chronic lower respiratory diseases
5. Cerebrovascular diseases (stroke)
6. Alzheimer disease
7. Diabetes mellitus (diabetes)
8. Influenza and pneumonia
9. Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome and nephrosis
(kidney disease)
10. Intentional self-harm (suicide)
11. Chronic liver disease and cirrhosis
12. Septicemia
13. Essential hypertension and hypertensive renal
disease (hypertension)
14. Parkinson disease
15. Pneumonitis due to solids and liquids

Drugs are still a huge problem right now.

Drug-induced mortality
In 2017, a total of 73,990 persons died of drug-induced causes in the United States (Tables 5, 6, 8, and I–1). This category includes deaths from poisoning and medical conditions caused
by use of legal or illegal drugs, as well as deaths from poisoning due to medically prescribed and other drugs. It excludes deaths indirectly related to drug use, as well as newborn deaths due to
the mother's drug use.

Alcohol-induced mortality
In 2017, a total of 35,823 persons died of alcohol-induced causes in the United States

Firearm-related mortality
In 2017, 39,773 persons died from firearm-related injuries in the United States

And drugs, alchohol, and firearms are not even in the top 15 killers.

Mass shootings are still statistically rare. As noted that the Firearm statistic is ALL firearm related death regardless of the situation ( suicide, homicide, justified homicide, etc).

I think that the people who play the lottery most are trying to get out of their economic situation by luck. I feel bad for those that do play. I have a family member who hates her job very much. She plays often. To her, it feels like that's the only hope to better herself financially. I tell her to go back to school or find a better job but playing the lotto requires minimum effort. So she prefers to do that!

Interesting that firearms are actually more than alcohol in your country though.
Not surprised about the heart disease. With the fast food and hardened hearts of people who consume it.

Heart disease is the leading killer in my country too. But it somehow never makes the news that people die from heart attacks. When it happens many people think its merciful and say well at least they didnt suffer as its kind of sudden.
Often its related to stress especially over work. They just drop dead and it could be anywhere. We do leanr CPR for first aid. First aid doesnt teach us how to deal with alcoholics or crazy gun toters though.

My dad plays nd I ask him what he would do with winnigs if he won. He must said he would maybe go on world trip and give each of us family a million and then put the rest in the bank to make more money.

He plays even though hes retired. Lots of older people gamble as they not earning much income with their pensions. Alrhough my dad played when he was working too. He did win a few hundred once but ai dont remember that he spent it on anything special, ot just went on bills. He proabbly had spend that mich on tickets over the years anyway.
