Literalists dont realise that God might operate on a more complex level that is way beyond their understanding. The faith and works debate is a classic example. People who live the gospel without talking about it or even acknowledging it have Jesus working inside rhem. God works in mysterious ways. Some Christians think in such black and white terms that there are the saved and the unsaved. The good guys and the bad. Yet evil lurks in all of us. Sorry to disappoint but the so called saved better not count their chickens before they hatch. There are no guarantees. We will all be judged on Judgement Day. Case by case. We are all accountable for what we say and do.
Jesus is working in the High School Principal. So its not really his efforts or works.

I show you my faith by my works. This is what James said to the naysayers.

I would just not pay any attention to naysayers and continue to be inspired by this principal's actions. I think we all do our jobs the best we can and also God ordains us TO do good works, so to NOT do them doesnt actually make any sense.

Its very rare that someone with authority, like a principal, gets down on hands and knees and works and spends times with their students. But a principal can actually make or break a school.

In my schooling years I noticed that my years were much happier when the principal was engaged with the students at a personal level. If they were set apart, then students and the teachers also suffered.

Another thing about principals, even if its now board of trustees that run schools, if they are christians its more likely they are open to Bible and prayer in schools. They could even be praying for each student at home you dont know. If its a public schools they often cant openly say right out they are christian. So the best path to take is to show faith by works.

Some people get up and arms about people being christians and then start asking well which church do you go to and judge you on attending this or that denomination. Or they might say if you a christian why arent you teaching in a christians only school.

The truth isnt just saying 'im a christian so you should be one too' the truth also means showing someone that God loves them.

Faith requires action. Otherwise its not faith. If you love someone you would take the time to show it. When Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the life. He didnt just say 'I am the truth'. He was showing the way, demonstrating the life. As well as telling the truth (even when some people didnt want to hear or couldnt understand)
