I keep seeing one of those awkward school dances where all the guys are on one side terrified of the girls and all the girls are on the other side waiting to be asked to dance.

Soooo...who is gonna be rhe brave person to cross sides and get the party started ?

Lynx: "What do you mean there isn't any eggnog, I mean REAL eggnog, with REAL eggs and REAL nog and NO cinnamon???!!! Why, this is a (17-syllable word I've never heard of that means something like tragedy, unbelievable, and downright criminal all at once)!!!"
By the way it's a 14 syllable word, not a 17 syllable word. I mean really, who goes around spouting 17 syllable words? That's far too exhibitionisticly ostentatious. :p

I know a lady from some other southern state that can make any word sound like it has 17 syllables😊.

Erm... hang on a minute...aren't you married mfr or am I mistaken?
Hi Butterflyyy,

Mfr is indeed married, as well as a few regulars here who hang out and are kind enough to encourage us singles (tourist, PennEd, mailmandan, JesusLives, etc.)

It's cool because they give us some reminders about how challenging married life can be...

Because they're pretty much a (welcome) staple here, we told our married friends (a few posts into the thread) to bring their spouses and join in on the party. :)

Seoul apologizing in advance in every post she makes
Hush, you!

I don't care if everything you just said was 100% accurate, just, hush!

P.S. Let me apologize in advance for telling you to hush. ;)

This is ostensibly the singles forum. It has become the de facto chill place to hang out. Married people are welcome... as long as they don't go campaigning for the rest of us to get married, or try to play matchmaker, or slop ooey-gooey romance all over the place.

I wasn't being mean, I just expected the Singles Christmas Party' to only have single peeps there...I do really appreciate the encouragement from married people on here a LOT.....as long as their spouses are cool with that🙂

I’m offended because @seoulsearch didn’t include me in the marrieds post up there.

I’m not coming to this party anymore!

Oh my goodness, how could I forget Melita!

Actually, you were one of the originals I used in the 2nd post! :D

I think it's because you were one of the foundational people here, way before you even before you got married. :)

(Which gives the rest of us hope... Some of the Singles Forum regulars are now happily married! Some of them due to mingling in the threads...)

No worries, Butterflyyy!

I'm glad you asked, as it probably cleared up any confusion for some of the other posters, too.

We've been blessed to have the company of some really good married people here, and some of them were single and an active part of the Singles Forum before they got married. Some even found their spouses through CC. :)

But I agree with you and understand your point.

There have been times in Singles when some married peeps or those in relationships who weren't so happy at home were hanging out here, kind of keeping their eye out for a possible replacement or just falling for someone else through the interactions. :(

I hope that Singles can be as safe, informative, and fun of a place as possible for single people, but I also hope we never give any married friends a feeling of, "You all are having so much fun; I wish I were single again." :(

I'm not quite sure how to keep that balance.

I just hope that for the married peeps who do come here in the future, they tell their spouses that they're here -- and if possible, invite their spouse to the forum as well. :)
