What are some foolish promises you have heard people make about romantic or marriage relationships.

One I have heard on TV is when a man tells a woman, her father, mother, or friends that he will never make her cry.

If they are going to live together for life he will probably make her cry sometime. Maybe she will do the same to him.

What if he promises to never hurt her? Aside from difficultues that arise in most relationships what about childbirth. Since men got into the delivery room some of those women like you say, "You did this to me!"

Doing or saying something with the intention to hurt one's spouse is harmful to a relationship, but to promise you will never hurt him/her is foolishly unrealistic.

I don't know, I would like to think I kept all my promises. Maybe it was'nt enough for her...

At least you didn't Rick Roll me. It fits pretty well.

'Never gonna give you up'--> Unless you are talking about through death, one might be able to keep this.

We can avoid lying. It's likely all the other stuff will happen in a marriage. Who is never going to let their husband or wife down?
