It was prophesied that the birth would be in Bethlehem.

Yes, exactly; which is why both accounts had to have the birth occur there. Luke does it by using the literary devise of the census (I say literary devise because Quirinius' census happened too late and no Roman census would ever require a person to register in their ancestral village/town) to get Joseph and Mary to Bethlehem. Matthew does it by having Joseph and Mary originating in Bethlehem, but then needs to come up with a reason for them to end up in Nazareth. Mark and John presuppose Nazareth (neither contains a birth narrative indicating that Jesus was born anywhere but Nazareth).

What does that have to do with "christmas"? The three wise men were sorcerers and astrologers and gentiles who more than likely followed other gods.. so you see this as the narrative for christmas? Well that would be a pagan way of celebrating his birth. The three wise men were more likely pagan.
What does it have to do with Christmas? Celebrating the birth of Christ IS the reason of Christmas.

On another note, please source your opinion regarding the three wise men more than likely being sorcerers and astrologers. Regardless if they were, they acknowledged the birth of the Messiah.

Wow.

Not a loving response at all.

"I doubt you even know Christ"
I know right he asserted 3 times that I am not a Christian.
How does that exhibit the fruit of the spirit.

A lot of anger in that den. I dig righteous indignation but I’m not seeing it with him but I’m trying to be open minded for once.
You won't see it. Shake the dust of your feet.
When someone tells others they do not know Jesus without even knowing them, yet further more to claim they have read their posts which proved it then time to let go.

Let him sit on his potty and throw tantrums.

From what I have read about the wise men is that they were likely students of the teachings of Daniel, from when he was in captivity in Persia. Likely handed down teachings for generations.

It doesn't.
It exhibits rotten fruit infested with worms and fleas
I like to know my adversaries. Dont want to mingle with reprobates. My posts dont have any anger. But its clear that my intentions are rebuke. If you dont understand that, I suggest you read scripture. Let God show you.

How do we know they knew OT? Were they Jews?
The wise men were from Persia, Daniel was head priest in Persia during the Jewish captivity. These guys were likely students of Daniels teaching handed down for generations.

“oh Holy Night” is so beautiful. Have you heard Jussi Björling singing it in Swedish?
I have not heard that version... have you heard this one?

It would help if you knew what you are talking about, and who you are talking to before you decide to rebuke someone. That's the 4th time you have judged another Christians as a non-believers as if you were God to Judge. Which among all the things that God gives us to judge that is the one thing that we are not to judge.
Not one person here has denied the diety, of Jesus, or that he is Lord.
So you have judged wrongly. Based on your uneducated feelings about celebrating Christmas.

Its the truth. That goes for you as well. Ive read your posts. I dont see Christ in any of it. You mock and laugh and sing your jolly ol folly.. too much for ya?
every single person who has responded positively to celebrating Christmas has said they do so joyously and they see Christmas as Christ centered

while we do enjoy family and friends, even Jesus enjoyed family and friends as we can read in scripture

none of what you say about mocking etc goes on

you can hide under your bed until Jan 2, 2020 and I am sure you will not be missed

I bet you also think Jesus made Welchs at the wedding too

We don’t know that. What we do know is that they knew the OT Scripture.
Scripture doesnt tell us much about the 3 wise men. As far as Matthew 2 account is brief and vague. But being that theyre not part of Gods people that we learn about in scripture.

Historians have their own take on who they might have been. They say astrologers or magicians or kings. And that possibly coming from Arabia or China? Not sure but thats from some of the articles I read online. But if theyre magicians or astrologers that would be something our God is against. Thats why I say they are more likely pagan, at the very least heathens.

Its all just speculation theres no biblical account on who they are or where they came from. Not sure why these gifts they gave to Christ should reflect on what we should be doing in december? Buying gifts to people? If we love one another I dont see why we need a specific day to show someone you love them. Its quite the same feeling women get during valentines. You should be showing your person you love them year round not just on a specific day. Makes it seem like a chore or obligation if youre not doing it often. Sponteneity is always nicer and more appreciated.

Theres a difference between a non believer and a luke warm or reprobate. Im well aware of what im doing. If you want to have a conversation about it id be more than happy to know that you are growing in the Lord. God loves you and so do I. I dont want to see you fall, this aint what Im doing.

I think telling someone they are not a Christian is frowned upon

if not, it should be

he thinks God has called him to this anger and judgement

he said so months back

Enjoying family and friends is great. Sharing about Jesus and the need for Christ with loved ones EVEN BETTER! I do this constantly. We dont need a special occasion to get together with loved ones. And yes I share about Jesus even when they refuse to believe. One day they will know Gods love for them is real. Ill keep doing my part to share.

Thjs thread is about christmas. Christmas is not biblical and goes against scripture. Point blank period. Im not against you loving your family! That would be against Christ! Thats a great thing. I hope many years of that. Best wishes to you and your family. Seriously.
