We all fail God every single day , in thought or deed , why do you think He gives us grace and mercy new every morning?
Great is His faithfulness...

We have a High priest who stands before God , an advocate who keeps us righteous because we are hidden in Him , God knows we are but dust , He knows we fail Him , Luke 6:20 Bless are those who are poor in spirit , those of us who stand before God know we have nothing to give , we know we are bankrupt , we can bring nothing before God , only our wretched selves ...

Gods beautiful grace is enough for us , we are in Christ , Christ is in heaven , we are written on the psalm of His hands , we are not forsaken , we are His and He is ours , and anyone who can not grasp these truths needs to come before the LORD and be like the tax collector who beat his chest...

You people who believe we can lose our Salvation is putting your own mistrust on others , and we believe all the words of our LORD put our trust in Him daily , all the glory to God Amen...\:)/...
Suppose you murdered someone, would you still be saved?

...a. In Hebrews 6, Paul is speaking to professing Jewish believers.

b. Some within professing Christianity are saved, some are not, but are merely "professing" Christianity

c. Some who "profess" Christianity will endure to the end, some will not. Again, not all professors are possessors...
You hit the nail on the head! (y)

The writer of Hebrews did not use the words, "lose your salvation" and I've heard numerous people who believe salvation can be lost claim you can get it back again. Maybe they believe it depends on the circumstances on how one lost it in the first place.

Ultimately, we cannot infallibly judge everyone's heart, yet certain people make it pretty obvious they trust in works for salvation, which is a strong indication to me that such a person is not a genuine believer. I'm not really too concerned about that Calvin taught because I'm not a 5 point Calvinist. I'm more concerned with properly harmonizing scripture with scripture before reaching my conclusion on doctrine.

Amen! (John 3:18) :)

You make "keep believing" sound like a difficult burden. I've been a believer for over 20 years now and never once struggled with continuing to believe. If it was not for the Lord, I would have never come to believe in the first place or would continue to believe. I believe in God's preservation (Psalm 37:28; Jude 1:1) and not man's preservation.

Lifeless evangelical church today? So which church is full of life in your opinion? Only churches that agree with you?

Judas' true colors were obvious. (John 6:64-71; 13:10-11)

You are a one string banjo: "Lose salvation" - plink, plink.

I experienced nothing but doubt, along with fear and bondage to IN-security when I subscribed to NOSAS while still attending the Roman Catholic church several years ago.

Bottom line: ONLY believers are saved.
"Bottom line: ONLY believers are saved."

Seeing as Satan believes in God, do you think you ought to add a caveat?

Satan believes in God, he absolutely knows God exists, but he does not believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and is not saved. (Acts 16:31)
Big difference.

Never said that. He was in heaven with the Creator, until he was cast out. His PRIDE got the best of him.

Isaiah 14:12 “How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! 13 For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’ 15 Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, To the lowest depths of the Pit.

Just wanting to get things straight: If Jesus is the Word, he must believe in Jesus.

"Satan believes in God, he absolutely knows God exists, but he does not believe on the Lord Jesus Christ"

It's not complicated. What do you believe it means to "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ?" (Acts 16:31) Those who believe will be saved.

Does Satan believe on the Lord Jesus Christ? Is he saved? Obviously NOT.

Satan believes in Jesus Christ but does not abide in Him. That is the difference.

It is not only sufficient to believe in Jesus for salvation, we need to abide in Him, and He in us. It is the indwelling of Christ that is important. Do you agree so far?

You enjoy making circular arguments.
How is starting with "Faith without works is dead" and ending with "this does not mean faith plus works saves" circular?

And which premise is in the conclusion
Besides, it is a biblical argument.

Faith without works is dead. (James 2:20) Dead faith cannot save. (James 2:14) But we are saved APART from works. (Ephesians 2:9)Therefore, it is not the works that make the faith alive. It is our union with Christ that brings our faith to life. (Ephesians 2:5)

So faith without works is dead does not equal saved by faith plus works. (Ephesians 2:9) Sola fidei. (Romans 4:3)

Satan believes in Jesus Christ in the "sense" that he believes in the existence and in the historical facts about Jesus Christ, but he does not believe in/have faith in/trust in/reliance in Jesus Christ for salvation. That is a big difference, so of course there is no abiding. The Greek word for "abide" is "meno" which means to remain, tarry, not to depart, continue to be present.

Trying to mix James with Paul usually ends up with circular arguments.

The Bible contains no circular arguments and it contains no contradictions.

James and Paul dealt with two DIFFERENT errors in their writings. James dealt with mere nominal Christians. Paul dealt with legalism.

No answer suggests the questioner is on ignore.
No. No answer means the person knows if he says he was never a member it is a willful lie and deliberate sin.

Which goes against his heretical teaching. But to say yes exposes him to massive hypocrisy. He really has no choice but to continue to act as if he doesn’t see the question. And as warped as that is, he can rationalize away not answering in his mind.

Tell ya what. Why don’t YOU ask him?

My problem with this is simple....there is ONE gospel that saves....NOT TWO OR MORE....when ONE believes into a "gospel" that states it begins with faith and then must be maintained by man, topped off by works, finished by works or what we do, it is a gospel that has NO POWER TO SAVE A MAN.....many need to get through their head that NO ONE IS SAVED when they believe they MUST FINISH IT OR MAINTAIN it themselves.....Galatians makes this crystal clear.....FAITH PLUS = CORRUPTED GOSPEL, no power, double cursed.....the road to "Christian" hell Is paved with the MANY that believe they HELP BY WORKS and or SELF MAINTAINED FAITH......
Some believe that continuance in faith is NOT synonomous with self maintained faith.

Hebrews 3:6 and Hebrews 3:14 seem to indicate a holding fast to confidence that is not self maintained, but rather a result of what God has already done and is doing.

If anyone says we have to maintain our salvation, that is an error. We are given by God to Jesus, and He loses none.

N

No, he does not and if you believe that, you have not read what he states clearly....HE states clearly that HE MUST MAINTAIN or he loses salvation...Both false......!
Like I said, I have not read all of his posts. Eleventh hour provided one when I said that, and I responded to what Judges said shortly afterwards
