for those of you that are not used to interacting with mr. bear, he thinks 1st Enoch should be part of the Bible and also that Christ followers have too keep the Sabbath to be saved.

I study every word from the Greek and Hebrew because the nuances of the words are not easily transferred by the English.....the language makes it clear that SALVATION is eternally given, so is justification.......
Show it to me! Show me how it makes it clearER that salvation is eternally given, if its clearER than in english. i already believe it in english as you know so!

GRACE is a free GIFT FROM GOD WITHOUT ANY STRINGS ATTACHED. You DO NOT DESERVE IT, YOU CANNOT EARN IT, IT WAS GIVEN TO YOU BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF EARTH, FOR THOSE HE FOREKNEW as HE WROTE OUR NAMES IN THE BOOK OF LIFE.
So lets look at this again.

14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: 15 looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled;

And by this many become defiled - Who are these many? Are they unbelievers? NO. Because unbelievers are ALREADY defiled. Paul is writing to the church. He is saying "CHURCH, don't let a root of bitterness spring up, which will cause you to become defiled" He is also writing to the CHURCH when he says be careful not to fall short of the grace of God. He is writing to the CHURCH to PURSUE (action) Holiness. Its the part WE PLAY in the sanctification process. Granted its a part we cannot achieve without God's power working in us. But it requires your consent and willingness.

Have you ever been offered a FREE GIFT but turned it down? Say you are visiting a friends house and they offer you a free gift, and you turn it down. This does not change the fact that it is FREE, it is a GIFT. You still have the choice to accept it, or turn it down.

That is what Grace is. It is a free gift. But you, through not wanting any part of the sanctification process (because you consider it works), that you turn it down. Yet it is only this Grace that can save you.

By narrowly defining Grace as Justification (which is what you are effectively doing), you are refusing any further work of Grace in your life towards holiness. Grace encompassed not only Justification, but also sanctification as well.

Oo, I learned a new word today.

Did you ever respond to why the warnings, exhortations and rebukes Jesus gave to the 7 churches in Revelation applies to me and my life and not to you from yesterday? I'm sorry if I missed it.

"Zero chance you would ever be vomited out of His mouth..... Unlike Ephesus, you could never have your lampstand removed! You have already overcome!

Your sweet Jesus would never cast you on a bed of suffering, would He?.... He doesn't say to you He knows your deeds and has not found them complete. Perhaps, unlike the few in Sardis, you have soiled your clothes so that you will not walk with Him in white; Perhaps you, too, are unworthy. (O, but this can't apply to you!) You don't have to obey His command to Philadelphia, "Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown." Impossible in your fantasy!

You, in the majority, you are rich! You have acquired wealth and do not need a thing. But He is standing at the door and knocking, still."

And how they overlook these scriptures. Walking the tightrope without a harness.

I would love to hear from other OSASSERS what falling short of the grace of God means, written to the Church, when it is only by Grace that you are saved.

I know you do migo, but a perfect tense Greek verb shows a present continuing result from a past completed action....my point is that the Greek VERB tenses MAKE it IMPOSSIBLE to peddle a LOSABLE salvation....and exactly WHY the N.T. was penned in KOINE GREEK....fools today take the ENGLISH and peddle a losable salvation. The King Jimmy was translated by 54 Episcopalian priests that do NOT believe in salvation, by faith and eternally given....they also ENTHRONE the QUEEN of ENGLAND or KING as the head of "the" church.....

Perfect tense

WAS SAVED WHEN I BELIEVED <---the PAST completed action
AM still saved TODAY because of the PAST completed action
WILL continue to BE saved from the PAST completed action

The emphasis is upon a PRESENT continuing result from a PAST COMPLETED ACTION

This nuance does NOT come out in a simple English translation.......

NOT saying one cannot grasp the truth from ENGLISH, just the difference between a B&W T.V. and a HIGH DEF Digital T.V.......

I already believed in eternal security BEFORE studying the GREEK aspect of IT.....NOW.....because of the PERFECT TENSE GREEK VERB it SOLIDIFIES that BELIEF in GRANITE........

MY completed action of faith SAVES ME eternally.....! <---the same faith Christ deals, begins, finishes and COMPLETES in me

This right here in the BOLDED shows you have no clue or concept of what was said to the churches....their authority as a N.T. church was on the line...NOT their individual salvation genius!!!!

Some of these clowns in here seriously make themselves look like they cannot even understand how to open a cracker jack box, much less understand the word of God!

Big difference EleventhHour, of what it takes to be "saved', and what it takes to become a "Priest!"
You’re absolutely right. It takes placing your faith in Jesus to be saved; being a priest on the other hand requires nothing of importance. The bread and wine remain bread and wine; popes are not infallible and priests sin on a daily basis. Faith, that’s the difference.

Unlike you pal....I know in whom I have believed and am FULLY persuaded that HE is able to KEEP that which I have committed unto his against that day.

You should try JESUS by faith instead of religion pal.....the latter will take you to the flaming pit!

James 5
19 My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring that person back, 20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.

You’re calling Jesus a tight rope? Therein lies your problem. Jesus is our Rock on which we build our lives. No harness necessary.
I'm calling those who don't believe in obedience to Gods Word tightrope walkers.

24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

DC,
you already know that hub and I adore you, but we often get concerned when you get into your
defensive-mode, and forget that you are to be the teacher to those who are still struggling or have
not been where you have been' - please, don't lose your compassionate nature when you get upset
by what others say...

not only did He put a harness upon us, but He also but a bit into our mouths, and yes, we did finally give up our own will -
He broke us down to the bone, and we became His slaves, forever and forever and forever more...
