Please stop playing the poor victim in political threads. It’s unbecoming.

And yes. Every one of those lifesaving measures are because of Republican legislation. Not a SINGLE one was from Democrats. In fact, on a state, and federal level, Democrats have many times blocked “born alive” bills, which state that if a baby survives the attempted murder by abortion, she must be granted medical attention.

That’s what you are voting against when you abstain, vote 3rd party, or vote Democrat.
Human baby lives are literally at stake.
This is a poor attempt at creating a political environment where the GOP is the only alternative. They are not.

No matter how many straw men you’re raising I’m not going to vote for a party that is destabilizing the country. That means my vote is not going to the GOP nor to the Donkeys.

How can you, a veteran, be ignorant of the fact that President Trump has been awesome for vets, and cleaning up how atrocious Obama and the Democrats treated vets!?
Well, PennEd, I don't think take the time to look at the political environment before deciding on a candidate. After Ross Peroit drew a lot of the conservative votes away from the Republicans it made it easy for the Democrats to win.

With so many liberals trying to establish a new kind of stronger/bigger government; we conservatives must be careful about trying to start a new better party. That is why the Tea Party didn't go over so big, the timing wasn't right. The Tea Party was only splitting the conservatives most of which were Republican. They got smart and drew back.

That is why we need to stand behind the Republicans. We need to get better people to run for office. With our news media becoming so liberal, they try dig up dirt about any candidate that might look good against their liberal choices. People don't want to be subjected to that kind of scrutiny. The best people won't run for that highest office. 6-old-thumbsup.gif

1984 party, Reagan & Bush? Is there an honest, unbiassed, Nationally syndicated news media still in business?
I thinks he means the "Big Brother Party" from Orwell's 1984 book that had a quote posted from it.

Well then, your vote won't count. Until we get a better third party you are just drawing votes away from the Republicans. And giving it to the Dems. :(

Lol. I didn't understand until now. He meant Bush Senior. Lol. Thanks Deade, you explained what I had meant to say.

Calling you out on your dubious debate technique is not playing the victim. Stop slinging mud when you’re responding and you might will end up in debates with better quality.
Stop playing. Woe is Me!

My issue is how you misrepresent the issues and people. You just did it again! If someone does not vote for one side, the opposing side gets in power? No, not necessarily, see, that is just another false narrative. Regardless of WHO you were talking to, I am free to interject and call you out on the error of what you say. That is how forums are set up to work, even if you do not like it. Your not liking it does not have to make us enemies, this is true.

Ok, good, I don't want to be enemies. But if I'm having a convo with Bob, I will be responding to him as I will if I'm talking to you. I'm not misrepresenting the issues. How is it not true that if a section stays home and doesn't vote the other party doesn't win? The left is saying that is how Trump got in. The blacks stayed home because they didn't like Hillary. I'm not talking one or two people. If a large enough section of people stay home the other side wins. Why do you think both sides preach getting out to vote? We need to do everything we can to keep the radical left out of office. I'm sorry Mag. this isn't just left and right, it's not the old Dems. this is a new radical party that has taken over. Moderates don't even have a say. That's why one of them have changed parties. A few moderates were running on the Dem side, notice that they were the first to be booted. A couple of them were booed because they didn't support socialism. People better wake up to what is going on. Christians especially.

I never said or implied that the rich should pay for everything. There is no chance that would work. I am however in favor of a tiered tax system. Let me explain. I hope that you have the attention span because as an only child I have spent far more time reading encyclopedias and history books than playing with other children. Thus I never got interested in any sport that didn't have wheels or an engine.

Throughout history the internal decline of a society has mainly been due to the top 5 causes.
famine
plague
bad water
Religion
Class warfare

The first, we nearly have conquered for the time being. Since the original topic was economics I'll start there. The wall street crash of 1929 was the worst, avoidable internal problem ever since the American Civil War. The crash was followed by the Dust Bowl. The only solution to put America back to work quickly was the New Deal. which was admittedly a comprise between Capitolism and Socialism. I put America back on it's feet and the taxes collected from the New Deal had a positive effect on the overall economy. People started spending money again. The manufacturers sold more durable goods like radios and cars and unforeseen by most it saved us from the worst evil ever seen Nazi Fascism. If not for the New Deal factories would have floundered. We would not have had a skilled enough upwardly mobile work force to build the Ships, tanks. guns, clothing, canned food and everything that the free world in crisis needed to win. It took more tha boots on the ground to defeat the coalitions we were up against and western Europe was in dire trouble.

After the war prosperity rose for the average working class person to levels never seen before. So did the national debt. I think that as a nation we are now devolving as automakers, ship builders and high paying factory are declining and the cost of living increases faster than pay. Do you think that Americans over all will accept this decline much longer without a fight? While the rich continue getting richer at staggering rates? We expect public works like roads, schools, sewage and water treatment plants as public services. Privatized franchises are the brain child of economic fascists'. We need to make a sharp turn around in the national debt as well. The general population is up to it's neck in debt. Unless we go back to raising the taxes of those who can afford to have the raised, right or wrong you have the makings of another revolution brewing. Don't take this as a threat, it's a warning do you think that American will ever settle for master/servant roles again. If you want to stop the liberals take care of the working class better. They expect better and don't forget they have guns too!
Up front I'll have to say that I wasn't born in American, which I think you know. I haven't studied the New Deal, but I would like to take an unbiased look at it. Not even sure if that is possible now days, everything has a slant. So I can't say one way or another there.

But as far as the rich, we would agree that they already carry most of the taxes in the country? What I see is this Bob, (and I have nothing against you personally, Im just really direct with my ideas) but there is only so much the rich are willing to pay before they pick up stakes and leave. They did it under Obama, they did it in Canada, companies just up and left. Don't think that is true? Some well known people have already said if Warren was the nominee they would vote against her. People are old enough to remember socialism/communism. It's the millennials that are falling for this junk. Bush Sr. said no new taxes, and that was the end of him. The rich will pay a certain amount and then they're out. Simple as that.

This is a poor attempt at creating a political environment where the GOP is the only alternative. They are not.
Given the fact that the Democrat party has chosen to become an EXTREME-LEFTIST/SOCIALIST/COMMUNIST/RADICAL ISLAMIST party, and chosen to foster sedition, treason, obstructionism, compromise of national security, shredding of the Constitution, perpetration of a CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY for a coup against a duly elected President, Americans are left with absolutely no alternative if they want to see America survive.

And the above does not even include the destruction of the major cities in California by the Democrats, causing a mass migration out of that state. Trump has warned Newsom that if he does nothing about the crisis of homelessness in his state, the Feds will be forced to do something. But Mr Trump has failed to prosecute the officials of all their sanctuary cities, and withhold all federal funding, when they are actually breaking the law by harboring illegal immigrants, and protecting them from deportation. This includes criminal gangsters.

Under any other circumstances, the majority of the Democratic politicians would have already been behind bars, starting with Obama.

So the GOP is actually not doing anything?

To be honest, this isn’t entirely accurate. For instance, if you aren’t familiar with the history of the United States and the grievances set forth in the Declaration of Independence, you may not fully appreciate the importance of the second amendment to us. Also could be true of someone who lived in a society that had been disarmed by government. It’s not that an outsider lacks understanding, it’s that they lack perspective.

For instance, I may see the terrorist activities occurring in Germany and know that this is evil. I may also conclude that Angela Merkel’s party is responsible and should be replaced. But I don’t know enough about German politics to know who they should replace her with.

Likewise, someone on the outside looking in could not likely penetrate the veil of lies that the networks, CNN, and MSNBC have surrounded this administration in to know just how evil and anti-Christian the Democrats have become.

I think this is an excellent perspective.

There was a thread by another user about "fake news" in British media. I was only inclined to agree based off a one-sided narrative that is seen in the media in the U.S. and how it drowns out the "space" for more useful discussions.

I'm not going to speak to the term "fake news" because it differs from what most people that use the term mean by it. However something that is riddled with opinion and hardly any facts and is somehow newsworthy I do not understand.

I care hardly at all for Brexit personally. I can see global implications and can "guess" how it might affect the lives of the average Briton, as well as the lives of anyone personally connected to such a thing. However, I'm not "in their shoes" and I could not possibly speak from experience as I am not there. Even if someone in the U.K were not affected by it personally, it's still an issue that sort of hangs in the air that you'd hear about and have it take up some sort of thoughtspace. Much like the impeachment proceedings.

I listen to the BBC during overlap hours with NPR (this is usually during 4am-6am EST I think). Where no one is broadcasting on NPR, so the BBC just gets played in the U.S. It's a global show and hardly focuses at all on the U.S.

So I can develop opinions on certain things that would be "cast" by something one sided, but wouldn't really care to dig any deeper. It'd be similar to a European listening to CNN casually OR Fox News. It takes time to pick out nuances, and it makes sense that you would need some sort of vested interest to do so.

A good argument can be made that when something is "close to home" an outsider is unwelcome with particulars. Generalized advice based off similarities can be made certainly.

It's like someone being suicidal, and let us say you had been there before. You aren't them, you can offer rather good advice based on experience and what the Lord has brought you through, but you can't speak to specifics because being in that "headspace" is unique for each person.

I could talk for hours on what makes for good reporting, how covering something and not covering something else can appear conspiratorial and skew perspective, even if that happened to not be the intent, but then that'd be off topic alas.

Adding an important aside...this is all relatively generalized and for me is just humanistic wisdom. Your post and the other thread allowed me to think a little deeper on that element so thank you. However, of course the Lord can work in someone to give them personal burdens of understanding in ways that I don't believe we can on our own, at least not past our own point of view. It is unrealistic to assume that even when he does, that we would be able to understand all things as if we had lived it, unless it were for a particular mission. There are a lot of things that we don't "need" to know to the fullest extent to be an effective witness.

I’m pretty sure “Woe is Me” suits you better than me.
I guess we're reverting back to 3rd grade. Ok.

I'm rubber, you're glue, whatever YOU say bounces off me and sticks to you!

That’s how the story goes when someone is introducing infantile expressions like “Woe is Me” into a debate😏.

This is also what happens when one tries to deflect because the facts have defeated them.

You asked about how the GOP have saved babies. I gave you a number of FACTS showing how they have, so rather than admitting you were wrong you broke out the "why are you so mean" deflection.

I command you to vote Republican!

Sorriest collection of facts I’ve seen.

I don’t think you’re mean, you’re just lacking a little in the fact analysis department. Don’t worry, that’s a common problem amongst GOP voters.

I’ll send you a get well card.

I’ll vote for the GOP in the 2076 😁.campaign. That year I’ll be 100 years old, God willing, so I guess I’ll have to cast that vote from the flip side.

Surely you wouldn’t call a 43 year old lady a hag? That’s not very gentleman like. Didn’t your mother teach you manners?🤦‍♀️
