I cannot do private messaging Melach for the same reason you cannot. :)

The law ended when Christ conquered Satan and death by his resurrection. However, those who do not believe in Jesus, or accept Him as their Saviour are still under the law and are condemned by it.

Now to the Old Testament. The law books were written by Moses, or to be more accurate they were put down on paper much later by scribes in Jerusalem who got it from the oral tradition, the same as some of our ancient history has come down to us by word of mouth. They did not have pen, ink, and paper in the desert and I'm not even sure if writing had been invented back then.

Yes, I do believe in the God of the Old Testament, it was the I AM whose name on earth was Jesus. I just do not believe in the idols and false gods who they worshipped for most of the time. See Judges chapter 3 starting at verse 7.

I only wish they had followed the I AM who brought them out of Egypt, then there would not be a remnant, the whole of Israel would believe, and the world would be a lot better place. God bless you Melach, I love your humility and sense of humour.
well i honestly have to apologize then for what i said earlier. ive said you believe the God of the OT is false god which its not true appeareantly i bear false witness.

but lets get to what i always said about the canaanites. if you believe that was false gods telling israel to wipe them out, why does the bible say it was the LORD GOD (Yahweh Elohim) to do it? the same Yahweh Elohim who said the 10 commandments? i hope we can reach understand in this so i can stop following you around and bringing this up. im like a yorkshire terrier

thanks for your compliments even after what ive said

I'll remind you of that when we meet on the other side and your asking me why I didn't push you harder!
You will remind me of nothing on the other side.

I will be stood before Jesus. Just like you.

Well, neither of us were wrong. We agreed on the general premise of Romans 11.

Now read the rest of it. I can assure you that there is pearls there for you too. Maybe next time don't be so quick to shoot down something you never analysed properly (post 120444 and 120445)
As I said, it was a general comment not directed at anyone

next time don’t assume know know people’s motive, that’s one of the reasons I do not read what you post anymore.

And another thing, one can talk to people about Jesus wherever one goes.

Having faith, perhaps in a doctor for example, is something we have, it is something we possess. It is not something we do.

We go to the doctor in the example, in faith believing, It is the doctor who does the operation, not our faith.

However, our faith in God may motivate us to work for Him, and if it does, then that is the outward evidence of our inner, invisible faith.

I hope this helps.
Respectfully, your understanding of Faith and how it's applied (faithing) looks like those birds nest tangles we get sometimes with a fishing reel.

Rather than me going to all the work of reposting or untangling your understanding, just go back and read all my posts in this thread. If you really have the desire to know Christ better, after you read them, ask me some right questions.

Never fully or can comprehend why they worshipped these false Gods.
I know there were a lot of them given the religions of the time.

They even started worshipping a false god (Golden calf) whilst Moses was receiving the commandments from God.

Now I'm not a perfect Christian but part of me thinks "Wow you have seen the miraculous work of God and yet you do this"

I often have to keep myself in check because I'm quick to forget the miraculous things God has done in my life.

What I do find interesting though is that I see some grace concerning what happened.
God could have just wiped them out.

It seems like at this time God was going to consume them yet Moses interceded for them. I think based on what God had done bringing them out of Egypt.

Exodus 32:9-14
9 And the Lord said to Moses, “I have seen this people, and indeed it is a stiff-necked people!
10 Now therefore, let Me alone, that My wrath may burn hot against them and I may consume them. And I will make of you a great nation.”
11 Then Moses pleaded with the Lord his God, and said: “Lord, why does Your wrath burn hot against Your people whom You have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?
12 Why should the Egyptians speak, and say, ‘He brought them out to harm them, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth’? Turn from Your fierce wrath, and relent from this harm to Your people.
13 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants, to whom You swore by Your own self, and said to them, I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven; and all this land that I have spoken of I give to your descendants, and they shall inherit it forever.’ ”
14 So the Lord relented from the harm which He said He would do to His people.

I have highlighted V10 because I do not quite get what is happening here.

God saying I will make of you a great nation but Moses response is in V13.

Can anyone clarify this for me?
God was going to start new with moses, basically throwing out the abrahamic covenant. moses called to Gods attention Hs promise to Abraham.

I wonder if God was testing Moses?

Wondering Melach on my next tour of Europe coming up soon is Finland worth seeing?
yes finland is really good. my advice is come during winter time to northern finland "lapland" its called. you said you liked all winter sports so we got many winter resorts for skiing snowboarding and hiking and so on.

i say all cities are good to visit except helsinki there are no finns left there.

My wife and I did a Norwegian Fjords cruise last June to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.

We are planning our next one which incorporate Norway, Finland & Iceland.

We loved Norway.
Very beautiful, scenic, clean and it felt very safe.
yes same things apply to finland very clean and safe. welcome Bill if you guys ever do visit say where

so if going on a boat trip is worldly sin what do you do daily? tell me your daily schedule hour by hour. what on earth do you do for full day? just try your best to avoid anything even remotely fun?

sleep on a needle matress wake up dont eat gotta fast while reading the scriptures for hours on end go to the streets with a sign urging people to repent maybe feed a couple of homeless people tell them to repent or they'll burn in hell and then finish the day off by taking communion with the only person that agrees with you on the planet and thats your wife. the communion is probably with grape juice because wine could end up with a relaxed feeling and thats too much fun. then you can come to the forums tell us we are carnal and go to sleep and repeat.

is that close?

Not a problem.

Their LORD was whichever G/god they were worshiping at the time. They called the true God LORD, and they called the Golden Calf LORD, saying, from memory, "these are the gods who brought us out of Egypt."

It was a misuse of the word LORD, which unfortunately the translators have always left capitalised. (All ancient Hebrew was in capitals.)

So Baal was LORD, and the I AM was LORD.

I know you are not an alcoholic... sorry I did not mean that.. I guess I have seen too much tragedy from alcohol has made me jaded, but I do drink on special occasions.. but I have no desire to go beyond the one or two social drinks.

I grew up with wine on the table and alcohol was never forbidden or taboo so I never understood the whole get "wasted" thing of my former friends.

Very true about Russians not met many they do not love to drink.
